That is the cutest pup I've seen in a while.

All three of them handled that really well. That's a pretty ideal response from the cat. Just a boundary warning. No attack.

I have never been overly fond of most dogs. My friend has a border collie and she is the kindest creature ever. She constantly wants to be petted. I love giving her hugs and handshakes. Overall a very friendly little creature.

All they've done is to destroy that cat's life. Those are super aggressive dogs, and that cat will be terrorized as it gets older, and on top of that will probably have five years shaved off it's life.

I like how the cats think, if they go into another room their problem disappears 😂 Better to put them in different rooms and let them smell each other from under the door - cats claws can do real damage.

Everyone has different styles when it comes to introducing Pet. I've had some rescue cats I had to go into another room for two weeks. I've had others that have gone into the rescue room for about 12 minutes until one of my other pets pushes open the door somehow and it's all fun. You just never know. That's what makes life so interesting n and if a dog gets it on the nose from a cat it only happens once. It's not the end of the world. Yes cats claws are sharp. I can vouch for that.

No. Cats are not going to injure the dog in anyway. Stop being a pu**y. I've introduced cats to dogs a LOT. Cats don't prey on dogs so they aren't going to continue to bite or claw them up until they are dead. They will simply swat the dog with their paws and if they even did bite, the dog will get the hint and move away. The cat isn't going to chase it down and hurt it. Cats are not like that.

@@gailremp8389 Hey I always said if you want to donate blood - adopt 2 male cats that like(d) to play rough. (I did - the 2 females (siblings from the same litter) I adopted after they passed were exactly the opposite - as soon as skin is detected - 'claws in' (hats off to the foster home who I adopted them from - very great job making 2 sweetites). Love the poofy tail on one of them. Poofy tails always crack me up.

Adorable, I hope they all become good friends ❤️

First of all you’re not an animal behaviorist are you? Secondly if a cat…or in this case two cats want to be left alone or show a young dog who’s boss…they will! And a cat can get away from a dog by climbing higher than the dog can reach or hiding under or behind furniture that a dog (being much bigger) can’t get to. So you really shouldn’t worry! If they had introduced a full size adult dog to their home…the cats might have felt “terrorized” but because it’s just a puppy they will find him to be a playful and submissive younger sibling! So when you get your degree in animal psychology…let me know and I’ll give your opinion some credence! But now you have my opinion…like it or not!

@@brentmason6782 You're joking right? That dog won't just stay in the larva stage! They're very powerfully muscled, and have almost unlimited energy. All these people have done is to sentence those cat to prison doing hard time for the rest of their lives. You have the GD nerve to say that they can always just hide! You seem like one of those people who pretend to have compassion for animals, but see them only for your own entertainment and projected fantasies.

That's why I love dogs!

I was always a cat person. Even when I had to dog sit, I never picked up poop and I didn't like to be sniffed or licked. But in the recent years, I fell in love with my daughter's white labrador retriever. He knew all the basic commands which I learned from the Dog Whisperer. And when he pooped, I had no problem cleaning up after him. Now that I'm living in Florida, I have adjusted to watching my sister's dogs. They didn't know the basic commands and they are too old to teach now. And I also have to watch my nephews dogs from time to time. They too are not properly trained, but the one lab has turned out to be my favorite. Her only problem is that she is afraid of thunder. And the only way to calm her down is when she lays on my bed and snuggles up to me for comfort. Now I have a new best friend.

Vets usually say to keep new family pet separate for up to 2weeks and meeting the original pet feel safe. Slower the introduction can sometimes mean a good outcome long term. Hope it all goes well.

Don't separate them and don't rush it. Best way is to let nature take its course. In time they will become friendly on their own terms.

Best of luck with your puppy. My son’s chocolate and white long haired border collie had 9 pups last September in 2021. We kept 2 boys (we must be crazy tho we live on a farm) and one is a chocolate and white copy of his mother. Looks a bit like your lovely pooch. The other is a caramel/coffee Merle…. Hoping that all the four-leggeds are getting along fabulously. If you have the patience and the care, a border collie is the most amazing creature…. So much love in such a cute package! Good luck.

No! Dogs eat cat food because it tastes better - but it isn't geared for canine nutritional needs. It is meant for feline ones. And besides, you want to start a fight between dogs and cats over who gets the cat food? If one was going to use food as an introduction, the correct way to do it is to feed them close to, but on opposite sides of a baby gate. That way the cats can interact if they want, but the dog can't, and it can't get to their food.

@@Tarotlynx They weren’t talking about feeding them the same food. Just feeding them at the same time, in the same room. Could easily feed the dog on the floor and cats on the countertop, where the puppy can’t reach. Or have each on either side of a screen door. The goal is encourage both to associate the other’s scent and presence with good things.
