I never really paid attention to him before because I thought he was just some Disney kid with a limited range but he really is a great actor. The only other former Disney actor that I can think of who is super talented is Shia LaBeouf (Miley Cyrus too obviously but as a singer, not an actress).

In the past, he turned his back on HSM because he wanted to be seen as a "legit actor" instead of the "High School Musical guy" so it made sense for him to be a little dismissive of it. But he's well established now, and he's broken out of that image, not to mention it's been over 15 years since he filmed HSM3. Enough time has passed for him to embrace the franchise and look back at it fondly.

I think he struggled with depression and body dismorfofobia after the highly success of those and baywatch. There were tons of factors. He also removed himself from Hollywood. Still works on productions of movies but he developed an addiction to drugs that gave him that same UPPER high he got from being insanely successful so young. But eventually he developed the addiction and went to rehab but that broke things off with Vanessa. Sadly that was also the same time he did baywatch and again body image issues so he left, I don’t blame him. He’s super talented. But to be near addicts and problems it’s better for him to just do his craft and leave. Understand that the idea of fame, parties and being relevant was harming his mental state.

What I admire about Zac Efron is the fact that he is so humble about every single and gives compliments about the co-stars he worked with on that particular scenes. It was so sweet to hear him say that he had a great time filming the High School Musical movies. Gotta love him!

17 again is such an underrated gem, RIP Matthew Perry.

Actually quite an underrated actor. I like him in a lot of movies and those movies are pretty good. Charlie st cloud and the lucky one are actually really enjoyable to watch as well as 17 again, high school musical, etc.

Zac's been so absent from all of the High School Musical reunion stuff that's happened that I almost started to think he was intentionally distancing himself from it all. But hearing him talk so fondly about it here really warmed my heart. It's so cool to see that he's not only still going strong, but continuing to hit new peaks in his career.

Zac has always love his experience with HSM, i think he just doesn't like how people kept associating him with HSM to the point that they don't take his acting seriously when he does other projects. He's great in HSM but come on, he has done great in other movies too

I agree, I do think he was partly avoiding the reunions because of his ex, Vanessa. I'm not even sure we've seen them in the same room since they broke up. I do hope that if HSM does 1 more reunion that Zac finally shows up fully for it, it'd be nice to finally see him be with his HSM co-stars again

I was so happy to see he got a star on the Hollywood walk of fame. He has so much talent and has grown so much. I always remember being surprised that Drew Sealey originally sang for Troy in the first HSM, but Zac grew so much, as did his voice, and... ugh. He's still one of my celebrity crushes. Love him.

zac efron saying "i've never had so much fun" on making high school musical made my heart grow 3 times in size🥺 Makes me think of the opening scene with him and vanessa singing the start of something new🥺 Such an uplifting and inspiring movie. One of the last ones that actually had a mostly positive impact on the children of our world in my opinion. Crazy.

It's honestly really impressive how much he remembers. A lot of big stars just do their movies, get their paychecks, and leave it all behind. But it goes to show that he really respects his journey and beginnings. I've always loved his stuff. 17 Again is still a favorite of mine. ❤

Saw it the other night, absolutely heart wrenching performance by him that hopefully lands him an Oscar nomination

I was in the crowd at his Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony and he seemed just as lovely, kind, and down to earth as I expected (and attractive of course). It was so nice to hear him speak fondly about his old roles, especially High School Musical, when a lot of actors tend to hide away from what made them famous. He's had such a great career so far! 17 Again and Hairspray will always be some of my favorites ❤

It makes my heart happy when he talks about all that Matthew did for him & helped him with through acting & 17 again and elsewhere

I know he had to get surgery after getting into an accident which broke his jaw, which had the internet constantly talking about it, so I’m proud he still continues to put himself in the spotlight despite admitting to feeling insecure about it.

I have been a fan of Zac since I was 5 and watching HSM on dvd at a friend's house. 17again is 1 of my all-time favourite films. I even still have a 2010 poster in my room of him from an annual I got in 2009. He's a superb actor who has never failed to deter me away. Love that he can remember lines from films he did 10 plus years ago. Also, his homage to Matt Perry is lovely ❤❤

seeing this was such a trip! i remember crushing on him so hard when HSM first came out. he seems like such a genuine, nice guy it makes me sad he thought he needed work done on his face when he’s still so young. he looks so different from his early roles and not in a natural aging king of way.

I watched Charlie St. Cloud last night for the first time ever and it is brilliant. I liked him in the HSM and Baywatch and think that he is great at singing, dancing and comedy but good gosh, when he gets to the emotional scenes, he really goes for it. That courtroom scene at the end of 17 Again, gut wrenching.

.... i don't understand why people say this about celeberty who is super famous and has their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

@@Kanoog Umm, he has had a star for a matter of days. Also, being “super famous” does not mean much.
