Best Apocalypse quotes: Human: "A mutant!" Apocalypse: "I am as far beyond mutants as they are beyond you." "For I bring the purity of oblivion to your world." "I cannot be touched. I cannot be harmed. Watch me and tremble." "The old world passes away. Together we shall forge a new one in fire and blood." While wrecking the X-Men: "I am the rocks of the eternal shore. Crash against me and be broken!" "I am Apocalypse! Look upon the future and tremble!"

You realize the creators had to fight to make it serialized and not one off self contained episodes? That was revolutionary for a cartoon and is largely the reason we have so much serialized TV now. X-Men the cartoon changed TV, so love it or hate it the X-Men cartoon helped us all.

It was basically a synopsis of Claremont's X-Men. It was the first show that didn't shy away from the comics content. Although you could say the same with Batman TAS, but, I think with TAS reinvented Batman, while X-Men showed you how cool comics were. They had the same costumes and same personalities as the comics albeit being PG13. If you were an X-Men fan before the series, everything was a treat, if you were a fan after watching the series it was a perfect beginning to get you into the comics.

Hi Rob, I starting reading the comics in the 70s and I was a big X-Men fan. So much so, that I became an artist to be able to draw comics. When X-Men The Animated Series debuted, I wasn't that happy with it. Artistically, I didn't like the animation style of the show. Though I wasn't into the animation style, I watched the show faithfully. With all that said, I will give the show its praise, it was true to most of the characterizations and canon of the book, which I really appreciated (I wish the movies could've been as true as the series)! Nostalgia has me now looking at the series with fondness!

I was surprised looking back in anticipation for the new revival, to see the show was actually pretty good. when I watched the first episode all i could think was "wow the animation did look like that didn't it" but I slowly got past that and remembered as I watched that the stories and dialogue remained consistently good and really kept the premise of mutant persecution and different ideologies present throughout. good job 90's x-men, heres hoping the revival is good.

Even though it was maybe 60% true to the comics most changes that were made were exceptable to a point but the killing points were the voice actors they were INCREDIBLE in delivering how every character's true personalities which put it over the top for most of us OG fans & the music was on point also & no other show thus far has been able to touch X-Men: The Animated Show! This show alone's better then all the movies combined!

EnSabahNur By far, the best voice actors for the x characters were in this show. It always bothered me how Magneto was suddenly portrayed as a Brit after Ian Mkellen's movie portrayal in all the animated works and videi games. Im like, Mags isnt a brit and hasnt spent any length of time in England to gain that accent in canon. His voice was PERFECT in TAS though. I can go on and on about how good the voices in that show were.

Cable says to him that Good will always triumph over Evil, it's the nature of the universe. So Apocalypse stops to think about it and decides to investigate it, and just teleports away. That's when he ends up trying to restart the universe with all the mutant psychics and stuff. Oh, oh oh.. so in that episode there's this janitor guy at the out of time whatever place, can you do a video on him? I've always wanted to know more about that guy!

The greatest show ever! If only Marvel could remember who the X-Men should be in the comics. Although I have never understood the hate for the last 6 episodes of the series. While the change in animation was a step down, I would still take the show continuing with that animation ANY day over "X-Men Evolution" or "Wolverine And The X-Men". I also thought the action movements were more smooth looking. The only bummer is that two episodes were complete wastes ("Jubilee's Fairytale Theater" and "Descent"). But the other 4 episodes were quite good. I truly miss this series and seeing THESE X-Men in the comics. Also, if people want to read about the "behind the scenes" regarding this series written by the creators and with interviews with the cast members, be sure to pick up the recently released book called "Previously On X-Men"!

I liked the design changes to Jubilee and Jean in the last six eps, Jubilee actually looked like she was ageing a little bit and I always prefer Jean with her hair down. I loved "Old Soldiers", "Descent", and "Graduation Day", even liked "Hidden Agendas". I can't imagine the series ending any other way than "Graduation Day", everything came full circle.

I remember the halcyon days of fox kids. X-Men and Spiderman are still just about my favorite comic adaptations out there.

the Tick too.... hell i remember even farther in the 80's when we had GI Joe and Transformers after school and Voltron, Thundercats & others on saturdays....the Smurfs, Dungeons & dragons, Thundarr The Barbarian, Bionic Six, C.O.P.S. [Central Organization of Police Specialists] and others....MASK....there were lots of cool shows back then and some not so cool.... Jem, Care Bears, Rainbow Bright etc i think it's funny how Rainbow Bright got adopted by kandi kids but Jem [which kinda fits the techno/rave scene] wasn't adopted.....lolz i think kandi kids whole PLUR [peace love unity respect] motto kinda came from the ideals of care bears but i haven't seen many people sporting the bears at all.....but i see a lot of rainbow bright among the rave community, just an observation... the 80's were nuts for cartoons, we had everything and within a couple years all that was snatched up and we were told NO....pfft instead we suffer this Adventure Time crap or Family Guy or half the dumb shows on CN now.....when we were seeing shows about cyborg cops taking on high powered criminals in a futuristic city and a bionic family fighting crime?? or GI Joe fighting cobra and heroic robots fighting evil decepticons....and through all of it there were clear heroes and villains....remember McGruff the crime dog??? just saying man lol
