    The only plugin I've used so far for synthetic vocals is Yamah's Vocaloid 5. It's not the most user friendly, but it does what I need it to.

    As a (very) old musician, I can tell with confidence your voice is more than pleasant, self sufficient and that you won't ever need any vocal plugin. Please sing the harmonies yourself (if not already done since I'm 4 months late on this one). I'd add you have even way too much instruments on this tune. Go light, just piano or acoustic guitar and just send your beautiful voice to the world.

    If thousands of users are composing songs with that tool they will all have the same voice. They'd need to offer 100's of different voices.Of even better, they should scan my voice and then use it. What do you think?

    That's the thing isn't it, when you get away from the trappings of the usual AI/machine learning/Human simulations taking over the creative world arguments your left with that old Speak and Spell voice from the 1980's. It's all recognizable to us so it fits in a mental box tied to that kids toy. We need so much variation and uniqueness that we cannot connect the dots... and say with certainty "This voice I'm hearing came from this."

    I noticed you say you're dyslectic. For years I wasn't aware I had an issue with typing. I knew I was mixing up some letter combinations when typing (ie instead of ei, oi io), but suddenly I realized there was some system in it. It seems left and light finger don't work at the same speed, as well as i have a deviation in one direction, I type one key too far to the left. So it is rather a hand-eye coordination problem. My mind know what it wants to type, but my eyes and fingers don't execute it very well. Similarly my eyes mix up words I read. Again, in a systematic way. I started to collect some examples and my doctor immediately and spontaneously saw what the issue was, that is, the phenomenon. However until now doctor recognizes/has a clue what the mechanism is that causes this. There will be one, but I'll have or find her or him.

    Thanks for another great video Liina! Your advice is valuable - just create something and don't worry about what anyone else thinks. I do believe that we all were created by God. That creation was an act of Love! When we create we are reflecting that love. So even if "nobody" cares, I think God (or the Universe, or the Spirit, or the Great Pumpkin even) does care and is very pleased with us! Cheers!

    I like these videos very much, I find them very inspiring and I learn of lot by watching them and applying them in my DAW. However, I made a shopping list of the software presented in todays video: The plugins would take €930 at this moment. Black Friday may make them maybe €700, but some were already on offer. Autotune is a large part of it, but can be on a monthly subscription of about €10. Ableton Live Suite costs about €500. So to play along I'd have had to spend about €1000-€1300 on software alone, and coincidentally have the same or similar set of plugins. By now my challenge is becoming mainly to find similar stock or free plugins that do the same thing to a certain degree. It makes me having philosophical thoughts about the target audience ;-) And doesn't most creativity come from working with limited means? I type these word in the freezing cold on our own medieval city walls. 😉

    This is a fair point. I guess from my perspective this series is less ment to be educational than inspirational. This is more to show how I make this track, for real and let people into it. 3 videos are also sponsored, which is the main income I have right now. I do not use/promote devices I wouldn’t use anyhow. But I get your point that what I show is also privilidge.I maybe use gear that I would probably otherwise not have and I do like to promote culture where you do not need to own all plugins/devices to make good music. But also after doing this for over 10 years, even wihtout this job, my collection of stuff (i use all the time) does get bigger. So I think it is about the balance and what purpose the video content has. Unfortunately, if I would only create educational conent with Live’s own devices it would not also be realistic reflection on how I make music. And also for my mental health I need to make content that is for me and for my artistry as the key point right now. But I totally get that this is a big topic that propably all creators think about ☺️

    @@LNADoesAudioStuff Thank you for your elaborate reply. As for the mental health issue (in general). I think I notice several or even many content creators are a bit struggling at the moment. Personally I think covid created a boom in attention for videos about making music at home. With the lockdown mainly over in large parts of the world, it a understandable people leave their home again and attention diminishes. This brings new challenges and struggles, but the main thing IMO is to attribute this diminishing to the right cause, covid being over, and by that changing demand, be it qualitative (the kind of content), be it quantitative (the amount of video watching). The issue is mainly how to face this new situation, not so much how to face one's self. Was there not Joseph in the Bible explaining pharao's dream, about those seven years? But maybe I'm talking nonsense ;-)

    This tool is very tricky... I tear my hair off when I'm trying to use this. Recording the midi to it is a big pain. It also reacts to DAW's loop settings, does not matter where I am. The BPM can not be changed for whatever reason. It is at 120 instead of my project's 126... Strange. After some playing with it, I finally managed to record something with the free edition. But, still not 100% satisfied how it behaves, but let's say, I'm dumb to using it. Without midi keyboard and only relying on mouse+kb with pc it is a bit tricky to use. I would suggest some improvements for the devs, because I feel that this tool has a great potential. It is very good anyway. Thanks for showing it @LNA Does Audio Stuff!

  • @LNADoesAudioStuff

    @LNADoesAudioStuff

    To be honest, I didn’t find too much limitations. I think it sounds great as backing vocals. If you would be using them as the main vox, it would suit the best for EDM style where processed vocals are part or the style anyhow. I am surprised how real the vocals sound and been happy with the usability off the plugin ☺️

    I don't think Emvoice sounds any better than Vocaloid, plus it has less voices and can't be used offline. It uploads everything to their servers. Synthesizer V is much better. Look up Hallelujah or You Give Love a Bad Name done with Synthesizer V. With lots of tweaking, it is quite amazing. Even out of the box with no editing it is far better than Emvoice.
