Does this new feature make Aiyima’s A01 Pro the king of class D?

Музыка

Aiyima's A01 Pro has a new feature that's different than all the other class D amps that I've reviewed. I'll tell you all about it and about the amp in this video!

Sorry for the few times I call the 3116 chip the 3166 chip, sigh. But overall, what do you think about this new feature? It is enough for you to run out and buy the Aiyima A01 Pro? Also, what's your favorite class D amp that's been released so far?

It's a nice improvement! But according to your video maybe i would go with the fosi 20 pro. I would like a review of the smsl a300 that has nice reviews. Greetings from Argentina!

Nice review. You really seem to enjoy yourself doing these videos and that is great. I have a Marantz 2220b with a midrange control and I've never touched it. You got me thinking that I'll have to check it out.

Just got a Fosi BT something or other with the TPA3255 chip & a Schiit modi3+. This is my first venture into anything outside of stereo receivers. Can't wait to hook the little guys up tonight.

🤯 I was NOT expecting all that. That little Fosi absolutely obliterates my Yamaha RS202 & 30 year old Pioneer and that's with a $14 dac. I haven't even tried the Schiit yet. I can't believe people don't like class D sound. It's so smooth... and my Klipsch RP600's actually have bass now!

@@ForeverAnalog Thanks for your answer! 🙏 The specs of the s801 are Power Handling 60W / 120W, Impedance 8 Ohm. Is the A01 pro powerfull enough with his 80W under 4ohms? I'm sorry if my question sound stupid, i'm a padawan, getting started with HIFI.

You’ll get 30 watts at 8 ohms. I didn’t have to turn it up very loud with my speakers. Amazon has a pretty easy return policy if you don’t think it sounds powerful enough (but I think you will)

I enjoyed reading the comments on the video of how many people bought one of these amps and love it. I think theses amps have a place for beginners to hifi and anyone looking for something quick and easy to power an office, workshop, etc type system. But I also know they are mass produced and can be buggy so his buyer beware warning is accurate too. I still enjoyed the video and love his channel.

It feels so weird why these companies are still making this kind of products (mini budget amps) with chips other than TPA3255. The specs are so much different while I think the chip cost should be like few $ diff if not cents. They might just want to differentiate products in their line-up though, still weird...

@Douglas Blake Class D and Chinese are definitely not audiophile or high-end. Probably your needs are not huge. Being technician does not mean good ears automatically. You know how they work but you can't hear the finest details. Below 2000 USD there is no great amp for me. Wattage does not matter if damping factor is weak.

  • @bwithrow011

@@7AccordHomeStudio Even high end, expensive Class D amps don't compare to a quality Class A/B amp. Class D is switching technology. Switching is not musical. Music is analog, continuously changing in pitch and amplitude. A Class D amp can't reproduce analog faithfully

@Douglas Blake I'm considering either an Aiyima or Fosi Audio amp. Specs are one thing, but the real question is how does it sound? I'm also looking at hybrid tube/solid state amps by Dayton Audio at double the price. I might get both as long as both have real good return policies

A lot of the Chinese hybrid "tube" amps are a total scam - the vacuum tubes are just powered to light up and are not even in the signal path. You've been lied to. And their power ratings are a complete fantasy - the average op amp has a power rating of 30 watts into 4 ohms at 1,000 cps at about .1% distortion.
