That subject has a very real History and very real finds as they dug. There is or was a real object(s) to find. This story has as much evidence of being a prepared hoax as any evidence of treasure. I doubt there's more than a box with a note that indicates they cracked the code but there's no more than 1 gold nugget for the efforts. ... and maybe the purpose of the experience. It's interesting but has no real foundation of purpose.

My suspicion also is the vast majority of the treasure IS gone: however, I do believe the original depositers did not get it all. Hence, the water analysis showing higher levels of gold, from certain bore holes, in & around the money pit. I also am enjoying the Laginas discovering the historical narratives around the other areas, like the swamp, Nolan's cross & the Lot 5 digs.

However, it actually helps one to remember the correct use of the verbs. I don't mind being judged, particularly if it is in the process of helping another level up in their grammar. The fact is, it can make the difference between an income of 30K and 90K per year, and keep others from misguided judging of one relative to the language skills. 🎓👮‍♀️ ... 😘

"They" do find treasures. The real ones are smart enough to not say a word and possibly melt it down and make fake gold nuggets by slowly pouring the molten gold or silver into water then putting those pieces in a rock tumbler to simulate natural water worn gold like from a steam or river, I'm pretty sure even the gold that's worn off the fake nuggets will be recovered by panning the slurry just like you'd do natural materials you gather from a river or steam...... seems logical

If this much treasure is buried by Bufords Tavern or anywhere in West Virginia or Virginia, it would have been discovered by accident a couple of hundred years ago, because of the entire area being passed through countless ownership. If there was a treasure, then it was found long ago by somebody like Rockefeller or another 18th or 19th century tycoon.

I live in Front Royal, a couple hours away from Lynchburg Virginia. A buddy of mine has a cousin who lives in Lynchburg. He told me that his cousin spent summers in the 1990s looking for the treasure. He actually has maps/paper that are slightly torn and supposedly it matches up some mountains that are connected to the story of the treasure. Well, as far as I know he's found nothing. I thought about going down there myself and doing a little searching. Lynchburg has a museum that has information about the treasure that you can get more information there and do some searching. But, I believe it is a hoax also. I would probably spend more time soaking in the environment of the trees and the forest instead of looking for treasure..lol

I doesn't make sense that someone would make a code in numbers like 687 where 7 in 687 actually means the 687th letter in the alphabet or even in reference to the manual/letter because it would take way to long to write the entire code, it has to be much simpler then that. It would make sense that the 6 in 687 is the sixth letter in something, the 8 is the 8th letter in something and the 7 the seventh letter in something. One must also consider that it makes no sense that someone would leave the code with someone for safekeeping without wanting to come back for it some day if that they did not want the keeper of it to discover the code then nobody could because the person who left it would not have provided the reference to the number for anybody to decipher it. If they left it with someone in case they will not be back for it by a certain time and they could have the gold then they would of provided a way to decipher the numbers into something that makes sense, and that could only mean the letter or instruction documents is the way given for the numbers to make sense and it would not be that time consuming to decipher because they would of had to take just as long to encode it. It could be a practical joke or a real map of sorts it will be one or the other. If it is a joke nobody can figure it out, if it was left for someone to have then it should be easy to figure out if you have all the documents that went with it.

Some of you have mentioned Oak Island as having the same problem and this is true. The problem with these lost treasures is that no one can decipher them properly. When someone spends enough time with a cipher map, stone, or letter and cannot figure things out, having spent so much time using up all their resources to no avail. The owning party has no other option but to expose the map, stone or letters hoping to make money in some form like writing a book to recover some of the losses because in their mind they come to the realization that it is a made up story and if not at least they can make something since their giving away important information to someone that does know how to read the cipher. It is what most people will do when they get tired of holding on to something they just can’t figure out. It is true that the fiction book treasure island was created by the author based on his failure of not finding the island. He died very close to the island not knowing it whereabouts. Yes! People make books when they can’t get nowhere with a treasure story. The actual Templars map that leads you to the lost Dutchman’s goldmine is being used as a book cover for the lost Dutchman. Figure that out! So the problem is that they can’t read the cipher as in this story. I can assure you that the Thomas Beale story is ciphered and he left certain stones in Arizona to backup his life story that he found the Lost Dutchman’s goldmine for a specific reason. He describes that he took gold back to Virginia. He describes the three places in Virginia which most people do not understand because they don’t know how to read the cipher. I do and I can tell you that there is nothing under the money pit on Oak Island, but there is something there that they will not find again, they are not skilled in deciphering. Do not be surprised when the time comes that someone will eventually define all these treasure maps.

How often do you see a square stone buried out in the middle of nowhere. They should have kept digging. The young boy saw and described the treasure and that`s a clue that he may not have been told. I think they had the right place, but possibly,,the whole treasure thing was a hoax.

This is a pretty good story considering. But if you think about it and the amount of gold that they found that they had turned into gold bars and silver bars and so on and so forth they had to have found something else. And if they happen to find say part of a hidden Templar treasure or maybe even part of the stuff that was stolen from the Mayans and the Incas that they brought back in 2 North America and hid in the desert regions in Colorado Utah Nevada New Mexico a friend of mine's dad bought a property in Utah about 11 years back. You won't hear about this in the mainstream but the Museum of Natural History and several other corporate entities decided to try to buy him out of his property because he found what was believed to be an old Mayan vault they found several Mayan leaders buried wrapped in gold caskets similar to The Mummies from ancient egypt. They also found almost 17 million in Gold Gems and silver. It was kept very quiet and the government has been harassing this family for the last 11 years they've been in and out of court several times fighting over who owns the treasure. I don't think the United States government has any right to it and they've wanted to return most of it to Central America because it does belong to the Mayan and Incan people😮❤❤❤ to me that speaks volumes of my friends family and the people that they are and I believe that they deserve a percentage of it for finding it but I deserve that the majority go back to the museums in Mexico for the people of Mexico
