Why a train station wasn't built at utting avenue cherry lane area decades ago to serve both Anfield and Goodison there's plenty of industrial land to build on a glider system is just a bus we need a dedicated tram rail system As they say in Jurassic park " Don't go cheap on me now Rotherham"

I think it’s important for the city of Liverpool to get a rail or tram link from lime st to Anfield & Goodison Goodison could be rebuilt into a modern 25,000 seater stadium for the Everton & Liverpool women’s to share with the biggest games being played at Anfield & Bramley Moore. This would also enable FSG to increase the SKD stand & the kop as you stated

If u want to celebrate high testosterone, why don't u just watch mens football? Women's football is a propagandist gimmick peddled by the Establishment with little to zero natural support. Hopefully people will see thro this Emperor's New Clothes project and realise women's football is something to be concerned at, not something to "admire".

Great video Kev, trackless trams or road trains are used extensively over here. The biggest users are at the theme parks at Disney world in Florida. An engine (tractor) pulling a series of passenger cars behind it and they can get very long and move large amounts of people quickly.

The road remains fenced off except for match days until all the snagging work is complete, hopefully all that exterior snagging works and the last few bits of cladding etc will be complete by mid May at the very very latest. I really dont know why they cant open up the forever stones area now and just fence off the rest ofthe road area which is directly behind the stand if they have to ensure safety building site standards until all work is completed

As a few have mentioned Glider is used in Belfast. They are bigger than a bendy bus an operate as a rapid transit system using dedicated bus lanes. They speed through traffic quicker than busses and operate here on specific routes. A good example would be from the Airport to the city centre and back. Trouble is they cause a build up in traffic for cars as they use up a lane.

How does trackless trams work? Trackless Trams are a new sustainable form of public transport. They run on rubber tyres instead of steel tracks and the ride is smooth due to stabilising technology in the suspension. They are guided by a digital rail with sensors built into the road surface.

The ideal solution would be this:- 1)4 big stands, maybe big corners. With plenty of "breathing space" around ie landscaping and stores/leisure facilities. 2)A Kop that allows small concerts eg 22k or 25k. 3)Transport via rail tunnels (from Sandhills, city centre and Bootle line) and road via the Stanley Park side. This could mean many events at Anfield without local residents even noticing visitors. 4)Perhaps even a retractable roof. (Would allow a wide range of regular events outside of matchday too). 5)Weekday Anfield is a possible park and ride to the city centre (using Stanley Park). 6)Anfield and surrounds become a thriving, prosperous area with many jobs available and many facilities. Unlike the desert it is currently. Currently, its a complete myth that Anfield has been regenerated. Infact with those completely unsuitable new houses, the area went backwards in many ways! The music industry wants stadium events all year long, and there is certainly the demand for it. Anfield would be set as the Wembley of the North. Financially a very sensible project. And great for the city, the North of England and most importantly for the fans.

Glider seating capacity circa 105 Bus seating capacity circa 47 -57, dependent on model. Double decker capacity circa 70 -120, dependent on model. Volvo Gran Arctic 300 can seat 300 passengers... tho i would be suspicious as to how such a large vehicle would be able to operate around the Anfield area. I would like to think there was some ability to create a new rail link. I think there is an old disused freight rail station about a mile from Anfield, but you probably would have more knowledge about that Kev and if the Council are exploring the possibilities around getting that back in use for passenger trains?

The club might do something to fill in the sides of the Kop, but can't ever see it being 'expanded'. Same with the KDS. There's enough homes & businesses been lost to ground expansions & there's gotta be a limit to that now. Anfield is primarily a residential area & a football stadium second. The potential for trams, I believe, is because the previously proposed re-opening of a train station by the cemetery, would be too expensive & cause too much disruption locally. Great vids mate...👍

They can't do that. If they had it going steep from the bottom to the top it would block views in the corner of the main stand. And not a chance they will be looking at knocking the whole kop down, we would be without the kop for part of a season at least, not going to happen just for an extra 2-3 thousand seats. They can make the kop wider after the Sir Kenny is done if they make it like the same rake as the bottom tier on main stand and do a more gradual steep slope towards the back.

To expand the stadium beyond the new capacity they need to put in place better public transport infrastructure, trams or having a train station within one mile of the ground. This could mean reopening Walton & Anfield railway station, a line that is now used for freight north of Anfield. To expand the Kop you have the problem of the A5089 (which you can't close or reroute, also it has a church the other side of the street). With the KDS you have a problem with the residents living behind that stand. If expansion was to happen then the KDS stand is the most likely, but the amount of bad feeling and the cost of that expansion for the gain in ticket revenue might not be worth it.

Bendy buses or trailer buses are an increased risk to pedestrian safety, been already tried with some routes to Liverpool Airport, they were acquired from London transport for not much money, TFL got shut due to incidents of injury to pedestrians. Some fatalities too. Just LFC in partnership with Liverpool council to try and get around Fan numbers ratio to transport facilities to get fans too and from a stadium or public venue depending on the capacity of the venue. Will cost a lot of money to fix track onto existing road network. Maybe Liverpool council LFC and Central Government could come up with a plan to fund the implementation of a new tramway. Would be great for the city in general. Give Liverpool Football Club the stadium capacity they deserve, given their massive success over many years. On the same note, I think Everton have missed a trick at Bramley Moore, a Mersey Ferries docking right on the new stadiums location would be a great help in getting fans from Wirral to and from the stadium during match days and through the week as a tourist attraction. 👍👍👍👍 👍

@@Kevcupo You can still pull passengers with a diesel loco, Inter city tracks are electrified, local lines still use diesel. This would be a local line. I was just thinking about the nearest track to make the rail connection easier and cheaper. Building from scratch to the next nearest rail connection would run into £Billions. Plus they could easily build the trackless tram with its onboard batteries, but with tracks,,, for that route.

If Manc UTd want to spend up to 2 BILLION with a Wembley of the North, surely LFC and the councils can scrape a few quid together? Double decker buses would allow approx TWICE the capacity of a bendy bus "trackless tram" over a set distnace of road space. So surely double deckers would be a better option. Of course the best option is train links from the Bootle Line and Kirkdale/Sandhills. Then Anfield could become a true Wembley of the North. There is obviously demand for it already - jsut look at the high profile Summer events coming to Anfield.

As a lifelong red, I would love to see an expanded Kop and SKD stand. However, we have to be realistic. The biggest single obstacle to any further expansion is the cost. Unlike the Main Stand and ARE, it would not be possible to use any of the existing structures in an either an expanded Kop, or SKD. Both stands would have to be demolished and completely rebuilt to expand capacity. Add in the cost of acquiring properties and land, as well as obtaining the necessary consents / compulsory purchase orders / re-routing Walton Breck Road you are probably looking at combined coasts in excess of £400 million. When you throw in the loss of capacity / revenue during the rebuild, it would be beyond the financial means of the club.
