Mine had a break in period it’s a super nice gun in my opinion I was supposed to get the 5 inch version but my gun store brought in the 4.25 still got it cause I needed a DS I would trust this gun with my life.

Good video I carry my PRODIGY 4.25 everyday the gun has over 1000 rounds thru it without a single malfunction and that is with all stock components since installing a red dirt trigger the EGW KIT tooless guide those and a keyed plug the gun has ran flawlessly for anther 600 rounds thru it I guess I got one of the good ones? It’s has ran flawlessly stock and since installing all forged parts it has continued to run flawlessly I trust my life to this gun I also run the EPS carry Becuase I like everything to be stream line but I love carrying mine i wouldn’t trade it for ANY STACCATO they are great guns yes I just think they are overrated you can build a forged Prodigy for less then you would pay for a staccato agian they are great I just personally would take MY PRODIGY over one

That’s awesome man! I love hearing the stories from people actually carrying these guns and running them a lot. I have heard great things about the EGW kit. Thanks for the comment!

As someone who has both, I haven't touched my prodigy since I got my staccato-p. It shoots better, better trigger, and I trust my life with it. I've had a couple failures to feed with my prodigy. Don't trust it. Prolly gonna sell it and lose 800 dollars on it because the resell value sucks on the prodigy. I have an echelon and that gun is awesome. Springfield did that gun perfect.

Thanks for the video and sharing your experience with the prodigy. I have both variants and have had no issues at all with both of them at approximately 5000 rounds through their pipes. I run them with the black scorpion speed holster which I think is pretty cool. I too have been using them for range toys. I think since the price has been lower on them since they were introduced they are worth it.

Glad to hear that you’re happy with your Prodigy, unfortunately mine has been nothing but issues, I wish I have saved some money and bought the Bul Armory…

A story that cursed this gun since the beginning of this guns life. I’m sorry to hear it man. It seems like some of them are great and some of them need the EGW love to make right. Thanks for the comment

@@EvanGunStuff my issues started before and after the EGW replacement, the slots in the slide are chipping off so the barrel doesn’t sits flush or stay on the slide…SF refuse to honor the warranty because I installed the EGW ignition kit and staple the grip.

I think as far as a gun goes yes but as a 2011? It’s outshined by so many others out there like the stealth arms platypus for the similar price

If I was giving advice I would say spend $1000 more and get the 2024 Bul Armory Tac Pro with ported barrel and slide

I think the prodigy is worth it as long as you don’t over modify it and get the price up to a staccato, if it doesn’t run well send it back to Springfield they’ll get it running for free, only mods I would do are an optic and a light and those don’t really count as modifications anyways

Totally agree. I think if you plan to buy one of these guns and then spend another thousand dollars upgrading it then you should have got a staccato or a bul. Valid point sir, thanks!

EFLX is trash that’s why it broke. I got it and regretted after the first year of owning it.
