Does the Golf GTD Deserve to Be Called a Hot Hatch?

In this video, I take a look at a subtly modified Stage 1 MK6 Golf GTD, and attempt to assess whether or not the Golf GTD is worthy of the title 'Hot Hatch'. I've never really been a fan of 'stages' on cars, but the term is used a lot these days to describe the modification level of a car and in this instance works well.
The answer!? absolutely. The GTD bares all the hallmarks of a true hot-hatch, without compromise. In fact, you could argue it eclipses it's bigger brothers, the R & GTI, due to its unrivalled all-round performance.

Really nice
I’ve just bought one of these as a project, needs an engine replacement but I got it cheap enough and it’s only got 59k on the clock so will hopefully be a nice car once it’s all done.
Honestly this has me sold. I have been looking at a f21 1 series for a while but wanna stick to a vw. I just love these

@@joshrhodes5068 yeah I love it mate . Got plenty of power dsg is lovely and quick. Really good on fuel unless you wanna put it in sport mode and floor it lol was going to get it revamped. But I'm not as I'm really happy with it

What mileage ? Rare to find them with less than 100k, wondered if yours had more & how they hold up

the diesels are good engines, stage 1 map transforms the car so much more responsive just give it the old italian tune-up every so often

I never liked the LEDs on the front of the mk6. The rears though...look ace

Good video etc but you repeat the same thing about it being pokey etc
