I’m so glad that Earthworks reduced the price of this mic. I wouldn’t have been able to afford it before then, but it’s the one mic I’ve found that works well for my voice. The build quality is awesome too.

He did a video called something like “Are the icon pro and ethos the same.” That’s probably what you’re looking for I would post the link but in my experience comments I post with links get sent to the shadowrealm

i really wanted to like the mic but i think i ran into an issue with it on the wave xlr where it kept just spamming static and sounded crazy muffled, i found out very recently there is an issue with alot of the ethos mics where a capacitor or diode or something they used at the factory cant handle the acceptable variance in phantom power delivery and would bork the microphone. I think i got a lemon but ended up returning it before any of that more recent info came to light, shame to cuz i really wanted to like it; it was my first xlr mic and im back onto simple usb plug and play goodness, may go back to it if i can get a non problematic one cuz it does sound like simply the best sm7b nt1 hybrid to my ears at least from other peoples demos. but cmon how are there interfaces without a mute button for the input thats just ridiculous

I use it on the Wave XLR and it works just fine for me. I think you got a dud XLR.

I've gone through 3 Ethos mics (original and 2 replacements), and they'd all "die" like that in 3-5 months. Thankfully I was able to talk them into a full refund because I was so torn dying it on me randomly (and blowing my ears in the process). If they fixed it for good, I would love to go back.
