Hi TAL, thnaks for the great clip - very cool. I do not see anywhere that you replied to viewers inquiries about the tune you had on the E70 50i. I am also very interested because it seems that tune is a bit weak. I have that car and I destroy the new model all day long and with a lot better results with my ESS race tune (No Cats). Kindly get back to us in regards to the tune that was running on the E70 in this clip. Thanks- I look forward to more N63 tune clips...maybe even with upgrade turbos?

What tun are you running? Is it Dinan?
What tune did you use
You’d almost never want the older model, the n63tu is almost an entirely redesigned 4.4 with very few parts shared. Much stronger platform, forged internals, nicer injectors, different heads, new turbos, new fuel pumps, superseded valve stem seals, better cylinder lining/coating, etc. If you are considering an e70 50i vs an f15 50i, get the f15. It will be much more reliable in the long run

None of that is true unfortunately minus the newer injectors and turbos . Both n63/N63tu still share the same issues. Exact same bottom ends as well. Just different heads.

E70s weren't unreliable. It's just the v8 that makes it unreliable. The e70 has much more tasteful styling imo

You cant tune those they are not turbo engines like the ones in the video. After 2010 all of the engines in X5’s are turbo.

Im rocking a 12 e70 50i with a dyno tune @ 502whp. I know with the Burger piggyback you can get close to that number. Im not sure what his is tuned with.

@@Danielmartinez-he9mh my tune was done by Bimmer Performance Center. Not sure the software they used but it's pretty quick off the line. 0-60 best time was 4.1 seconds but usually 4.4 seconds.

The new one is more worn out than the old one - based on the upper steering wheel leather. A dead giveaway.
Just bought used 2013 x50i M pack in 2023 with 95k driven. Is it a good decision?

Pain in the neck. Oil leak near turbos, lot of smoke from exhaust, heavy oil intake(literally topping up every month like say 1000 kms). Wouldn’t suggest V8 version from bmw.

@@bhaumikd Oh wow. I guess I should look into the 35i version instead and tune it. Or may even consider the Mercedes ML550. Thanks for the response

I own the 2013 E70. One of the worst engines BMW has ever manufactured. Terrible engineering
