    I drive my 2019 Camaro year round, remove the 20 inch all season and just put on the 19 Blizzak winter tires and no issues driving in the snow. Now, I can understand parking the ZL1 for the winter but when I read that others say, my Camaro is garage till spring, making payments on a car for 4 or 5 months to sit. 5 years later that Camaro is still going to depreciate no differently then the ones driven in the snow.

    The extra miles and salt rot that you will incur by driving the car in the winter will 100% affect the resale. Now obviously the only way to offset that is to buy a winter vehicle, which of course costs more money than you'll save. But if you already have a 4x4 truck anyway.....no reason to drive the Camaro at all when the roads are salty.

    I don’t understand why people are saying you can’t drive that nice of a car in the snow. It’s a CAR, he pays for it, it’s his not yours, and cars are better in the snow and ice and much safer. They are more heavy and are much more even in weight. A truck is light in the back and heavy in the front which you can lose control much easier especially if there is ice on the road

    On my SS which is a 2016 manual I have noticed that when shifting in snow/ice mode it really lets the RPM's back off before letting the clutch fully engage the gear. Where I have noticed a big difference is on my 2016 C7. When in snow/ice mode I have noticed a lot more intervention from the nannies.

I agree NY gets pounded with snow. We were at Greek Peak resort last year from Christmas until right before new year. With wind chill it was -15 degrees. I would never own rwd or fwd vehicle up there. Yes I could get around in Camaro during winter but I could not have fun in it like Audi. Big difference between the two.

  • @shawnmartin1306

    @shawnmartin1306

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@alexsein911 Most of the issues I had was because of all the work I had done to it. It has a leak that started today in flex pipe by header. That was after market though. List of issues Leak in rear seal that required rtv to reseal, cat delete pipe cracked and had to have seam re weiled and thats it. It has Apr ultra charger kit, under drive pulley, coilovers, higher dorameter adjustable control arms upper and lower, front and rear sway bars, cat delete off headers, down pipes, awe exhaust, apr intake, brembo big brake kit, x brace to stiffen frame, apr intercooler upgrade, digital gauge that also reads codes and shows all engine information, transmission tune, 93 tune for ultra charger, light weight wheels and I am sure I am forgetting stuff. So I can't blame Audi for the minor issues I have had. I literally have 5 boxes of s4 parts because they return the parts they remove. Other then that the only complaint is the plastic under engine cover. I lost this twice because the place I took to do oil change did not put all the locks back on. So now I make sure to let them know to have supervisor check they are secure each oil change. $146 for that stupid thing. I was on interstate and hit a cone they blew in the road. It knocked off the plastic piece on bottom right front bumper. $119 for that piece. The cost of Audi plastic is stupid priced but its higher quality then I can order offline. Had car for about 3 1/2 years. Got it with 45k on it and I am pushing 130k. So I cant complain too much. I think doing the preventative stuff helps a lot. Get oil changed every 5k, plugs every year, coolant, brake fluid and transmission fluids done each year too. Also had the intake carbon build up removed at 100k even though light never came on yet for it. I also use ethanol remover with each tank of gas. So that keeps everything inside clean too.

    What helps me out is putting the car in S/I mode, and transferring it to manual shifting Instead of automatic. It seems like the power to the rear is limited, which give me better traction in snowy conditions. I live in Ohio and this was my first time driving my Camaro in the snow so I was worried at first, but it didn't do too bad.

    Very interesting, some of these comments....I had the 2017 Challenger GT for a few months before trading in for a 2016 Scat Pack Shaker 392. The GT, somehow, was ok for winter but the 392 comes out and it's OMG, IT'S GOING TO RUST AND DISAPPEAR AND DIE AND STUFF IF YOU DRIVE IN THE WINTER!!!! The only thing different about the two cars is the drive train. That's it. Sure, we get salt on the road here in Michigan but this isn't the 80's and cars don't rust to nothing in four hours of winter driving. I wash my car at least once a week in the winter, touch-less, with the under-body spray and it looks just fine. Now, the GT certainly handled a smidge better than the 392 but with a good set of snow tires and the immense bulk of the Challenger (it really is a pig at 4200 plus pounds...) it's one of the better winter drives I've had. And I doubt they put heated mirrors\seats\steering wheels in them for chilly California mornings. Speaking of California, don't they have salt in the air, all year round? If you want to keep your car in the garage in the winter, awesome, if you want to drive it in the winter, do it, it's your car have the fun you want to have with it!! I'm using Blizzak LM-32's on aftermarket wheels, runs like a champ in the winter. Drive that Camaro!!!! Or Corvette, or whatever.

    1, Buy brand new winter tires. 2, add weights in the trunk on both sides of rear tires. 3, avoid hard accelerating when taking off in snow. 4, when you stuck, always reverse to get out, remember pushing won't work but pulling always work, rear wheels drive always pushing and front wheel drive always pulling so reverse to pull the car out when you driving a rear wheel drive vehicle.
