Does science need intersubjectivity? By Dr. Emily Adlam

The Nobel Prize in physics in 2022 went to scientists who, for over 40 years, have carried out a series of experiments indicating that, contrary to materialist expectations, physical entities do not have standalone existence but are, in fact, products of observation. This result is extraordinarily relevant to our understanding of the nature of reality, and so Essentia Foundation, in collaboration with the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information, Vienna, of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (home to Prof. Anton Zeilinger, one of 2022's Nobel Laureates in physics), organized a conference discussing the implications of this result. The conference was hosted by IQOQI-Vienna’s Dr. Markus Müller and featured seven other speakers.
In this presentation, Dr. Emily Adlam discusses the problem of confirmation in orthodox interpretations of quantum mechanics.

I would like to understand, but I'm too slow. I can't understand a person talking at this speed, on subjects that need to be thought about, without any pauses. I give my feedback because, for me, Essentia is an important organization that deserves our feedback.

In the KZread settings control, just to the right of the closed captions icon, you can choose a slower replay speed.

Yeah she's too fast a speaker. Appreciate she's a knowledgeable expert but she also needs to consider the audience. Bad microphone quality doesn't help either.

There are alters out there who argue that it is not observation but measurement that causes the collapse of the wave function. More scientists in this field need to do philosophy as it helps in their explanation of what they think is going on. I could feel Emily's enthusiasm coming through I had to turn on the captions as there seemed to be some words that got garbled by the mic. Nevertheless, it was enjoyable so thank you Emily and Essentia for putting this out there it is appreciated.

This is quite an interesting series. I just think that if Essentia Foundation posted videos with more frequency and regularly, the channel would grow faster.

Great talk but I am surprised Dr. Adlam didn't consider the possibility of a 2nd person world. That is, the interaction of perspectives co-create each other but not in a tapestry that equates to any single perspective even in theory.

It's a shame she speeks so fast. Moreover, the sound is not good. For a non-native english speaker as me it is almost impossible to understand.
