I do think life was "avoiding the pits" for most of our history, but when Jesus came, we suddenly had our "pole star" and could strive for something better.

Regarding tiptoeing and avoiding no-no's, I have several analogies to dialectic. One is an inebriated person staggering up a street, bouncing off light poles. Each time he does so, he gains a little more light.

Regarding Christianity struggling by trial and error, the wheat and the weeds need to grow together until the harvest. The approach of Austin Farrer of Oxford was called "tacking towards the truth--" hence my song "Coming Closer to the Wind." Lewis, in his appendix to _The Abolition of Man_ may have been referring to your "song" when he talked about the "Tao."

There's authoritarian power, and there's moral authority. The latter requires faith.

14:20 "Maybe there's horrors not too far from us now and we just make sure that our house is painted..." Surprised Glen didn't point him to the smoke rising in the distance from the abortion clinics.

"...Sometimes when we argue, A grain of truth is sown. If we humbly nurture it, We'll bring a harvest home. Thru respect and listening, We finally agree And form a stronger partnership Than one found.easily...." --From my song "We Need Each Other."

Naturalism is by far as cruel as God is accused of being. There just isn't Anyone to get mad at.

This gentleman needs to have a discussion with someone who has studied Greg Bahnsen and Van Til, like Eli Ayala.
