Hi Dave, nice and important topic. As you are aware my products come from Germany, Italy and China honestly I don't care where the products come from for me only quality matters and as you mentioned getting a quick response from a distributor is a very positive way to judge a company whether they are serious in business or not if not i always look for another serious company for best feedback before i buy my product. Thank you for a good topic🙏🙏🙏

Let's be honest. Most of the DAP's come from China and most of them are really good, especially the higher end models.

Absolutely yes. Where the company is headquartered in also matters. Mostly everything is made in China and you really have to watch out on the quality since nearly every supplier in china will skimp on materials, process, components, etc. just to save money. OEM's are constantly checking these variables to make sure China is in line. With non chinese OEM's, there is alot of quality in standards. With chinese OEM's (FIIO, Hiby, Hidenz, etc) the same quality standards are actually NOT met. I bought an Astell & Kerns DAP specifically becuase it wasn't designed or made in China.

Astell & Kern is made in South Korea and I have heard most of their DAP’s with headphones and a few in my vehicle, I wasn’t impressed other than their SP2000. I disagreed about China products or the products I have used anyways using cheap parts as that is just nonsense. Go take a look on how much the ESS 9038Pro DAC’s go for. I actually think they’re giving you a better price and not nickel and diming people like I feel Astell & Kern does. How would you know if the standards are not being met? Are you working with them building the units? How would you know what the actual standards are? 😆

@@CarAudioHorizons Additionally, I urge you to source responsibly if you are fortunate enough to do so. The majority of people don't care where their products come from as long as it's cheap and good however this mentality will become the downfall of the freedoms that you and I enjoy. I urge you to look into what's going on in the world from multiple sources. I'm not targeting you specifically. I try to share this transparency to anyone I come across that brings up this subject and is willing to listen.

@@Liquid_Cooled Well spending $2500 on a Dap isn’t really buying something cheap. I do agree some companies cut corners but that’s not country specific that’s every country that has businesses that don’t always follow policies & procedures. But like I said above you don’t have a clue what Fiio, Hibby etc… are doing behind close doors. That’s like saying I worked for the number one Industrial company in the world (which I did) so I know what all the other Industrial companies do behind close doors. You can guess and form an opinion but that’s all it is, an opinion. But I was curious so that’s why I did the video. But like I said in the video I live in Canada and nobody makes a DAP or much of anything electronics wise. If they did then I would check them out, but they don’t. I might pick up an Astell & Kern SP3000 though 😆
