I use HLG often with my a2s and get great results with similar techniques that you just demonstrated. This is a much needed tutorial because there are tons of people with a new interest incolor grading now that we have a mid cost drone with amazing 10 bit color. We need to learn how to maximize our video quality with this drone. Thanks!
I discovered HLG on my Air 2S recently. I really like and use whenever I can. It looks tremendous watching on HDR display
I have the Delta Pro and also got the air conditioner for camping in the tent. Love it!
I love shooting from my backyard since I am surrounded by forest. It is especially beautiful in the fall.
I need to try the HLG color profile on the Air 2S, I always forget that’s it there. Great video Russ, plenty of good information.
Your Are The Gift That Keeps On Giving In My Attempts @ Being A Better Drone Pilot & Aerial Cinematography 🙏🏻❤️
Russ, I think one of the best places to fly in my area is anywhere along the north shore of Lake Superior. The drones are great for aerial shots of Split Rock Lighthouse which is on a high cliff over Lake Superior. I know most any tourist ad for Minnesota will usually show the Lighthouse from the air. The other thing you might be able to catch on a sunny day is part of a sunken ship in the water below the Lighthouse. The ship is called the Madera which is a site that a lot of divers dive on since it's only around 150 feet off of the shore line near the Lighthouse.

Fantastic Information and Video Russ. Happy Flying!
Useful content! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Russ, just saw your video... Amazing footage. Thanks, you have a Fantastic Weekend! Happy Flying!
I just got a Air 2S a couple of weeks ago. I'm still scouting fun places. I did a video over the local High School football field and it turned out great!
You always give straight up information on the products good or bad way to go
I live in the SW suburbs of Chicago, and we have many rivers and forest preserves that are beautiful to film. Lots of wildlife and birds to watch. Thanks for another great video!
The air 2s is just amazing. The gateway arch, and all the old train bridges.
I did tests with HLG and the results have seemed great Thanks for your excellent video subscribed!!!
Good information for this drone! I like very much. Congratulations from Brasil 🇧🇷
One click to apply the LUT, but 50 clicks to find the one that looks the best LOL
I live in Southern Illinois and you can't go wrong with filming in the Shawnee National Forest. Thanks for the tips.
I will have to try that. So far I just like flying around the neighborhood and the lakes in Minnesota.
Downtown Dallas TX is one of my favorites. Getting a sunset with the sky scrapers in the background is awesome
Great work.
Living in Cape Town we are spoilt for choice for aerial photography we have a magnificent coast line and stunning mountain rangers. On the west coast you can get great shots of the infamous Robin Island and the iconic Table Mountain.
Thanks for the great information, do you need to use the H265 codex with HGL ?
Nothing beats a Chicago skyline drone shot! Great work Russ. Haven’t tried the HLG setting yet. I’ll give it a try.
Great info on the HLG. Have not used it , will look into it. Burro Creek off US 93. It has great bridge pics.
I like flying around Maumee Bay State Park, when it's not busy and up and down spots of the Maumee River.
I love hybrid log gamma for the 2 pro. Dlog is cool, but easily oversaturated imho. HLG gets me the range and control I want. I've found a few decent LUTs that apply reasonably well for it too. Great video!
Amazing video editing. Green, blue, red.
Helpful.
The Garden Peninsula in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. An area called Burnt Bluff. It is limestone cliffs about 70' tall along the shore of Lake Michigan.
Great Video, Great Review, And Great Video Editing Information! Thank You Russ!! The Grand Canyon.

What a difference between the two of them im going to give it a try and see if it improves my footage thanks for sharing big like from me
Love trying new stuff on the s I’ll give it a shot air2 s army out
Out here in the country of Colorado, the grain elevators stand out above it all. Mix that with some crazy sunsets and it's some amazing flying!!
Good info, I have a little water fall at Geary state lake that is nice to fly by!
Thanks for all the info you provide. Love getting your perspective. In Arizona here so lots of places to shoot. With fall coming up going to Flagstaff and out on Hart's Prairie Road. Great views of the San Francisco peaks and lots of Aspen. Ideally just south of Fern Hill.
Thanks for dropping that knowledge bomb on me! I never knew about HLG. I like flying around Stillhouse Lake in Belton, TX

Where do you film at in Stillhouse? I'm pretty new to droning and am having a hard time finding nice areas around here. Wish the State Parks allowed drones.

The mountains near my house are beautiful during the fall time. You can get some great footage there.
Thanks Russ for this video. I have just started messing with video editing and this tip will be helpful. I live in the Raleigh area and any of the local lakes provide wonderful footage.

Great video. If you shoot on the south shore in MA, consider Old Scituste Light. Easy access and a jetty.
I live in southern California and it seems to me there is very little near Los Angeles where flying a drone is permitted. So far my favorite place is Point Ferman Lighthouse in Long Beach. 😊

Peter, consider Labuan Beach for some nice waves and rocks. kzread.info/dash/bejne/i3yW1KRrlLOZfrw.html.
I live in Dunedin, NZ. I would say the best place to fly/film here would be Silverpeaks walk, very high but go early in the morning to avoid the strong winds! Thanks for the advice on colour grading, will try that soon. :)
Great work Russ! I live in central Minnesota where crops are grown and cows are milked! Honestly the best place I’ve found to drone is the Sauk River up through the chain of lakes around Cold Spring.

I’ve heard it’s really pretty up there!
I've been using D-Log the past few weeks and have a good coloring flow down in Premiere CC. Thanks for the tips! Here in Naples, Florida, Vanderbilt beach is a great place to fly, especially around sunset!
What settings and adjustments would match the scene as you saw it. In my photography I try to match what I viewed, though sometimes I do make artistic adjustments.
My favorite place is Sacrament River. It flows through the city of Sacrament and has some unusual bridge.
Love the editing tips! I have Adobe Premiere Elements but it's a bit limiting, especially in exporting video at only HD level.
I like flying in and around the quarries near my home. There's also a lot of revolutionary and historic sites I get to see from the air.
Excellent! Thank you Russ! T :-)
Thanks for the video. I will try the HLG more often from now on. Where I live, San Juan, Puerto Rico many places round the bay, beaches, and Historic landmarks, some may require authorization tho. Greetings!!!
I live in northern Ohio and love to go to the Marblehead light house and various locations around the lake. Love your videos and thank you for all the information!
I fly the driftless area of southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa, and southwest Wisconsin. There are bluffs over the Mississippi, Upper Iowa, and Root Rivers, lots of contour farming and few no-fly zones. Lacrosse, WI is about the center of this but has the largest no-fly zone.
Most KZreadrs who have Air 2S recommend the D-Log profile. It’s quite easy to edit if you download the correct LUT from DJI’s website. I haven’t tested HLG yet but gotta try the next time :)
From NY and Croton Gorge Park is a must.
I just got my air 2s and edited some video in HLG it exported but just black . Any ideas ?
Downtown San Antonio is a popular spot for flying. Recently got some footage at the Robert L.B. Tobin Land Bridge, and it came out really well.
Flying in Hatcher Pass in Alaska, is my favorite place to fly.
I would say that one of the most beautiful places to fly in California is in Red Rock Canyon during the afternoon hours!

Another great video! I live in the Sacramento area, so there isn’t to much to film here that you can’t find anywhere else. But on a recent trip to Santa Cruz, I did get some pretty stunning shots along the beach shores while I was there
I have flown at Rainbow Canyon, near Barstow, CA and got some really great vids of the area. Pretty cool.
Finally. Now I know where these settings for VIDEO recording is on my A2S. My most awesome place for footage- Barkley Pass, South Africa Here is just tons and tons of footage to indulge. Give me a shout then I’ll dm the link of my previous footage. Huge 👍🏻up. Thank you.
Love HLG. Could really use some gloves and landing gear for my air 2s. Thanks.
Jeffies cliff is where I like to fly. Thats for teaching me something tonight
My favorite places to fly are midtown and downtown Atlanta.
For me, its just finding a good location to fly in Dallas, TX. I wish I had more quality areas around here to fly. Great video and great information.
Your videos are great. Wish u would share sometime on computer u use (specs) to edit videos. I bought a Air 2 s only to find out my PC will not run my editing software. Screen jumps when editing and cpu at 90 percent. Thanks for your great videos. DC in Texas

Try changing your encoding format to H264 if it’s currently set to h265. The former is much easier on editors. If that doesn’t work then lookup how to setup proxy files if you’re using premier pro. Good luck.
There is area near me called Joe's Rock. It is a cliff that looks out over a valley below. Absolutely beautiful.
Flying in downtown Atlanta is amazing, safety of course! I'm going to have to figure out how to do that HGL trick in Final Cut Pro X.

The best to fly near me is the nearby lake which the local marina is on. The lake is actually 1 of 5 that are attached together by rivers.
Hi russ can you edit on your phone and if so do you know any good edit apps? Thanks Dave from the U.K
Thanks for the info Russ, I have not utalized HLG & have been attempting to colour grade in DLOG. Definitely need to experiment with that. I reside in South Africa 🇿🇦 Great places to fly for beautiful arial photography or cinematic video are pretty much anywhere along the Cape Town or KZN coastlines (wind dependent) & the scenic mountain ranges in the Drakensberg 🤙🏼
I'm definitely want to pick up that ecoflow Delta Pro but where do you see it for 44% off? Thanks
Thanks for the info Russ. Where I live Indiana we don't have a whole lot of interesting spots. We have a couple parks a skate park where I follow my son on his skateboard. I get some nice video that way. The Wabash river we have nice iron train trestle that's about it.
Hello Russ, I love all your video I am learning a lot on your channel about drone photography. Thank you. If any one coming to Minnesota the bast place for drone video is Lake Harriet you can see beauty of the lake and on the background you will see downtown Minneapolis.

I’d suggest almost anywhere in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan has great areas to use your drone, lake shores, lighthouses, waterfalls and lots of wildlife. Some parks do have no drone postings. Common sense goes a long way.
Hi Russ, Igot my Air 2 S today, I will defo start by using the HLG profile, cheers for the tips as always 🙌🏻, btw I live on the south coast of the UK, we have amazing places to fly, the Jurassic coast is, 90 miles long and is a world heritage site and offers days of spectacular views.
love the video... it I do have e a question..Are you a pinch pilot or a thumb, just wanted to know ,the best way to get smooth footage.
I live in central Pennsylvania. I like flying the rivers or out in the country on farms with the surrounding mountains
I always use d-log/d-cinelike because it forces me to learn more and more about premiere pro's capabilities. However, I will definitely try this method out to expedite the editing process. One thing that is always an issue for me are orbit type movements. The lighting can change so drastically throughout the 180-360 degree flight. It just wreaks havoc on exposure from beginning to end. I know there's a way to gradually change the flow of exposure from beginning to end, but it's just beyond my level of editing for now. Always learning, lol!! I'm more than likely going to stick with a much more minimal degree of angle from now on. I am in Illinois. I typically go to Chicago for some worthwhile footage. There are numerous State Parks I'd love to fly, but they're chock full of excuses to ban drones from taking off and landing within the interior of the park. I've tried flying in from the outside, but it's just not safe considering VLOS and/or transmission issues. The bridges, waterfalls, and sheer cliff walls are really what I want to shoot. Anyway, thanks for your time and effort, Russ! Always great info and advice coming from your channel!
Hi Russ, I think one of the places near me would be the historic city of Stillwater, MN with the St. Croix river.
Great video I want to do a video of fort rock in Oregon
Franklin Mountains in El Paso, TX.
Great views at Fishtown in Leelanau Mi!
Are you editing in REC 709 color space?
Does this only apply to users of Adobe Premiere Pro??
Downtown Milwaukee lackfront /summerfest grounds is awesome air2 s army out
Noticed the Scheels shirt, are you in Wisconsin?
Hi Russ, When in Upstate NY. Letchworth State Park is just amazing but be sure to obtain a park permit to fly and stay away from the bald eagle nesting area.. They can alert you where this is when applying for the permit
An impressive area where I live...hmm the 360 bridge is pretty cool to drone.
Thanks for a great sharing video. I start doing my youtube channel. Like your channel everyone can learn from you. Take care
I missed the drawing BUT. If you come up to Ma. We have 47 lighthouses here; nuf said! Take your Drone out to the 'I love you' lighthouse in Situate or see the twins on Thacher Island...
I live in a city that's surrounded by mountains. I always like to get sunrise/sunset videos/pics so the best place to fly around here is right out of my front door. I get most of my footage without the city in it but sometimes getting the city lights in the shots isn't too bad.
I'm in the southern Ohio area. Anywhere in Hocking Hills is gorgeous to shoot!
Hi ~ I don't have the Adobe Premier CC, but dose my Apple's iMovie App could handle the HLG format files for editing? thanks for give me an answer in advance~

I’ve edited in iMovie with the HLG format with no problems. I used my iMac computer so I guess it would depend on how New your computer is
In WV, Seneca Rocks is a must.
I live in the south of Paris, France. The best places to get great drone shots are the many castles and ruins that you find all around The region : always ask for permission before, but the owners rarely refuse if you ask politely. Usually I give my contacts and send them the files for them to use on their web site / ads… For example, château de Rouville near Malesherbes, Blandy les tours, the Fourches chapel, the Champlieu church ruins…
