But after few years they started worshipping golden bull and also their dead religious people. They were given guidance every time but they repeat the same(i.e., Idol Worship).They even tried to kill Jesus ,who stated worship only one God, on cross but God saved Jesus from being crucified. So the idea of worshipping one and only God is followed in Islam.

A very small portion of my brazilian Bnei Anussim brothers know their origins, which makes me sad... but hopeful that one day we can reunite!

Those stories and sayings about Moses( peace be upon him) are from islamic sources. Similiarities in word or language doesn't necessarily mean you belong to that group of people. Languages are like living organisms they can change over time, borrow words from other languages as long as different people are in contact and communication with each other. Modern day pashto contains more than 40% arabic. It has also borrowed words from English. It doesn't now mean that that the Pashtuns are Arabs or related to the Englishm men.

Just to clear some things up!! these people do realize who Bani Israel are and that they are descendants of them. However, one very major point you need to understand is that for these people, Religion, i.e. Islam, comes before anything, before nationality or ethnicity, it's THEIR method of identification, wether they follow it's rules correctly or not, what's important for them is that they're Identified as Muslim, it's an Identity, a big badge of honor for them. That's because in Islam, not much emphasis is put on nationality or ethnicity as much as it is valued in the West, rather what's in your heart, you can be a person of Jewish ancestry and a Muslim, it doesn't really matter. And according to Islamic theology Judaism as a faith, not an ethnicity is understood to be an earlier version of Islam, given to the children of Israel, so for these people, they see themselves as comoletely fulfilling the covenant of God by accepting final revelation of Islam. The hesitation you notice in their tone once you ask the question is due to a couple factors, the main one of them being the current situation in Israel that seems to leave a massive bad reputation in the Muslim world, the second reason is the fact that, as I said earlier, they Identify mainly by religion, so when you tell them they're Bani Israel, they don't recieve it the same way you do, rather it's like you saying that they practice the Jewish faith and Identify with it, it's like you're downplaying their Islamic Identity that they value. I really hope that clears some things up for people trying to understand, as I do believe Understanding the other party's perspective really helps in building bridges.

I am Pathan and I am really surprised when people forget their roots. One can have different religions but tribes and bloodlines can't be changed. They are the ancestors of Daud (AS) and settled in Afghanistan and accepted Islam but this can not change their bloodline which is Bani Israel.

I don’t think he’s getting nervous at 2:23. To view things from their perspective as a whole, when someone claims a theory in which they would’ve never thought of it before and think it’s false when it comes to them, it comes across as kinda weird to them. As a pashtun myself, it's very confusing regarding our origins but i do believe in the israelite theory unless somebody has better evidence for another theory. One historical person from Afghanistan, Qais Abdul Rashid who is known as father of most pashtuns has ancestry that can be traced backed to King Saul. We were always Muslim according to this theory because as Muslims we believe the true followers of Moses (PBUH) were muslims before birth of Jesus. Those israelite who believed in Jesus (PBUH) were the only Muslims then and those(potentially us pashtuns) who accepted the message of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) are the Muslims today. We are more israelite than ashkenazi jews and we're proud to be Muslims. Let me remind you one thing, we have more right over Solomon, Moses, David, Jesus( peace be upon them all) than you one day you will see a liberated Palestine

Louis Dupree, when he wrote his book on Afghanistan, which is a very comprehensive book on Afghanistan, wrote about this decades ago his book.

Very good initiative. Truth must be told in history without any modifications. It will be good to check where Jews are from as well.

I truly appreciate your content Rudy and for allowing a more nuance dialogue, something we sorely need especially in these times. This video sometimes rubbed me the wrong way though. I think there are now no more Jews in Afghanistan to ask. But I did hear such a question being asked & they said there is some kind of connection. That was years ago when I read that. I work with an Afghani Jew & he said his father also knows the Pashtuns to be of Bani Israel origin.

I remember as a child my grandfather telling me stories about Daniel Pbuh. The evidence for Pashtun being bani israel and even down to tribes names certainly points to that. Pashtuns do speak an iranic language but the eastern iranic peoples never consumed pork as it was considered a taboo. Perhaps even Zoroaster was from the Bani israel. A lot of this is conjecture but pashtuns some will even light candles for the dead and have quirky customs that you don’t see amongst other Muslims. If you asked a Taliban soldier whether they were bani israel they would probably say yes.

I’m a Tajik from Afghanistan and this was so surprising. I’d heard about this but never believed it so this video of them admitting it is quite shocking. The reason people don’t want to be associated with it is because of the State of Israel and its reputation. It is funny hearing this because Pashtun nationalists always tell us to go back to where we came from i.e. Bukhara (modern day Uzbekistan). They say they are the 'real' Afghans and we should move out. Reminds me of Israeli settlers.

Some facts for you Rudy: Pathans are also in India, mostly in Northern Indian. Examples: Irfan and Yusuf Pathan, Shah Rukh Khan and many more are Pathans. This study about Pashtuns being one of the lost tribes of Israel, there have been many Indian Pathan scientists who were involved in the study.

I'm Indian with "Pathan" ancestors (Bangash tribe). First I just want to say SRK is not actually Pathan, he assumes his grandfather is Pathan because he was from Peshawar but SRK is actually of Hindkowan origin which is a subgroup of Punjabis. Actors like Saif Ali Khan have true Pashtun heritage though. Also, DNA tests have proved that there's not a connection between Jews and Pashtuns and it's believed those that do have a connection is because of Indo-European migration. However, Yusufzai tribe, which means sons of Joseph; and Afridi tribe (and an Afridi Pathan is the one involved with the studies), thought by some to come from Ephraim show there could be some similarity.

In Yazd, Iran, there are villages where they say people are originally from Israel because of their accent which is said to be a Persian spoken with a Hebrew accent that endured over the millennia. Southern Spain has many villages that were Jewish and even to this day the people in Cordoba will tell you this. Just walk to the river at night and talk to the people. Even churches in Spain have Arabic, Latin and Hebrew writing on them in some churches, which is not uncommon in the very old churches.

Interesting video. Before the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan there was a vibrant Sikh community in Afghanistan. And many considered themselves as Pashtun as-well. Now there’s only a handful left but there are still Pashtun Sikhs in the tribal areas of Pakistan.

While no doubt the majority of Pashtun are Muslims, there can also be Pashtuns of other religions. I have heard of some Pashtuns who converted to Christianity, but their culture, language and traditions are still Pashtun.

It is worth mentioning that there is a high chance of them being related to the Jews and they don’t like this at all. specially if you ask an Afghan that lives inside Afghanistan.

They are mainly related to Pakthas. There is no scientific study, genetic, or historical, that connects them to Israel. This is why I have issues with this type of video. Because it’s chasing tall tales. Same thing with Igbo Jews. They have none of the genetic markers that you seeing any of the other Diaspora Jews. Most likely because they were converted into Judaism in the Middle Ages, which is why when they arrive, and Israel, they have to undergo a formal Conversion. You base all your videos on fact, so I don’t know why we start going into these conspiracy realms. I feel like it hurts your cause.

It seems pretty certain that Igbos as "Jews" is a modern novelty and not ancestral. While on the other hand, speculating on the lost Jewish roots of the Pashtuns, that aren't practicing Judaism, is just a curious cocept to think about.

yours is also a theory but i as a Pashtun believe we are not Jews/Bani-israel, we are quite different, these were just fake theories given by Mughals, britsh & other historians to demonize Pashtuns as they couldn't invade us or control us that's it. we are indeed old people with our own culture & heritage & we belong to Afghanistan & tribal areas.

I didn't believe that but one day I read some numbers of Hebrew. Example 9 in Hebrew language is taysha and 7 is sheeba. . These all words are available in Pashto till nowk.
