This has been such a great learning experience. 4 years ago I had my ac joint shaved down a bit due to impingement. Here I am now dealing with swelling from lower neck to upper bicep, going through physical therapy, and waiting on my mri results. The swelling is what gets me.

Thanks for the information, it really help. I had bursitis pain for over a year now, tried everything NSAIDS..PT.. which relief the only during the treatment once stop pain will be back, so doctor advice to ale cortisone injection which didn’t help it only worsen the pain . now in my last MRI imaging it showed a partial tear Should I consider surgery as doctor advised, he said that All of my problems is from bursitis

I hurt mine 6 months ago and so far it's holding up well and yes I'd have it done now but when living alone how can I have it done now.

If you have a partial tear of 25% and you go to PT then will the tear repaired and reattached or the PT is only for pain management? I am not interested and calming the pain but the restoration of the tendon, thanks for anyone reply 🙏

Doesn't reducing the inflamation in the shoulder help reduce impingement? Doesn't impingement damage the tear further? In other words, doesn't reducing the inflamation help protect the rotator cuff from further injury?

This is so depressing. I had a tiny tear on my supraspinatus after falling 6 months after rotator cuff surgery. Knowing the tear will only get larger isn’t great news for me I can’t lie

I had an 80% partial thickness tear of my supraspinatus in 2019. A recent MRI shows that mine has healed entirely after one PRP injection and relentless Physical Therapy. Don't give up hope or accept defeat.

@@nukemall3678 I've got a medium-width full thickness supraspinatus tear. Stretching and light weight training helps a lot, I've been doing it for a year. I'd consider surgery but the down time is a real problem. Hopefully with continued work it will be good enough

So PRP and Bone Marrow Concentrate will most probably make the supraspinatus tendon regenerate (grow back) instead of slowly tearing apart completely? Are there patients who could fully recover and regrow their tendon with these injections?

@@besmart2350 I ended up re-injuring my shoulder this year and when I had a follow-up MRI, they found that the initial tear is no longer visible. I'm a competitive Powerlifter, so I train very hard and consistently. My doctor was so surprised by my recovery that he actually didn't think a second shot was necessary and recommended against it. Injuries are unfortunately common for me, but post-supraspinatus tear, I was eventually able to gain back 80% of my strength before re-injuring my shoulder in a different place (benchpress of 410 pre-tear, 330 post-recovery).

@@nukemall3678 wow that's impressive. I wonder whether it would've gone to 100% if there was no second injury. They say that the initial tear wasn't visible, does that mean that it grew back together full length and width I wonder also. Still, sounds good. What's the other part you say you've damaged? The human shoulder is so gentle, I never knew that until I partially tore my supraspinatus

@@besmart2350 That's what it sounds like. I'm going to follow up with my doctor soon and get more information because this is all very recent. I do think my strength would have gotten to 100% after the supraspinatus recovery. I had been pushing myself too hard for several weeks when I re-injured it and I knew it was a bad idea but did it anyway (I decided to sign up for a last minute competition and I tried to make up for lost time by overdoing it). I sprained my AC joint and tore my subscapularis. lol

There's info all over KZread from several Orthopedic doctors explaining that partial tears can be healed by Physical therapy alone and the patient's statistics to prove this. This information is the only out there that says otherwise. Period. They don't sew the partially torn fibers back to the tendon they clean it up so those torn fibers aren't bouncing around causing you pain. So, your rotator cuff is still torn after surgery. So, what's his point here? I had rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder, and they did clean up surgery and my pain is gone and it's not slowly tearing whatsoever. This is IMO false information continue your research.

Sooo…what if if you had repeated steroid injections and over the course of 2 yrs the tear increased-will PRP or bone marrow repair the damage done by cortisone injections? Also if your acromial space is limited and mega inflamed to begin with won’t injecting more stuff-PRP etc make it more inflamed and further impinged? How do those biocompatible injections take up space in the joint?

I had a partial tear and 2 directed steroids injection but they didn’t help at all. I just had a surgery last week for Subacromial impingement and partial tear clean up. I am already off the sling and started physical therapy. Find a very good shoulder specialist. I was bounced around for 5 years Good luck!
