5 hour energy. Can it really last 5 hours and how does it work? In this video, I go over the ingredients in 5 hour energy and tell you how it works. I briefly go over the half-life of caffeine but if you want more details on the half-life of caffeine, check out this video:
• How long does caffeine...
That video helps explain how caffeine works and stays in your system. But do these 5 hour energies last 5 hours? Some people say yes and some people say no. It could be mixed results though because some people think that "energy" means hyper and thats where they go wrong.
If you like this video feel free to hit the like button and if you want to stay informed on all things caffeine related, hit the subscribe button. I post new videos every Tuesday night and one on the weekends.

    Well, thank you very much! Im not sure what timing has to do with responding to videos. If you take the time to comment, I'll try and take the time to respond. Whether it was my NEWEST of the NEW videos... or a timeless classic like the disgusting flavor of 5 hour energy, or even my Red Bull review, where you get a rare shot of CaffeineMan dancing. It definitely seemed to work for me during my university days. I remember I used to chug one of those things almost every other day to keep me fueled through 12-15 hour semesters, Skyrim sessions, and pizza delivery shifts. But now that I'm in my thirties I've switched to coffee, and can't consume nearly as much caffeine as I used to without getting headaches & jitters - so I only have one or two cups per day.

    Kevin Carpenter coffee is actually very good for your liver. if you drink it without sugar/cream it’s basically like medicine for your liver. I remember trying a 5 hour extra strength when I was in middle school and I ran laps around my backyard and went on a “I wanna be on the school football team” craze haha. but yeah red bull is honestly not great, rockstar 240mg is the runner up to 5 hour energy I’m my humble opinion

    It will last you for the 5 hours needed on a long car ride.... but depending on your caffeine tolerance and metabolism, that shot of 200mgs right into your system hits you about 30-45 minutes in....you might get some jitters. Id probably pick up a monster hydro to nurse, once the 5 hours are up. 188 mgs in a 24 ounce bottle, so you will be able to intake small amounts of caffeine throughout the drive.....but, it is 24 ounces plus caffeine, so you may have more bathroom breaks!!! (which is why I recommend gum). Drive safe!!!

So, if it didnt list sugar as an ingredient, I didnt talk about it. I only talked about what was in it. As my channel has grown into what it has become, a lot more people care to know about that so Ive added it on. 👍

    You had my sympathy the instant you said you were going to taste several haha For me, I'd say the "best" tasting ones I've found are (from best to worst): 1. Pink lemonade 2. Blue razz (extra strength) 3. Sour apple (extra strength) Although, for years I've never tried orange, so guess I'll have to give it a go. By the far the worst would be Apple Pie, a mistake I made once and will never make again

    I have had quite an experience with 5-Hour Energy. About 10 years ago I used to drink two 5-hour energy drinks each day which was one before work and one halfway through shift along with another monster energy drink because my shifts were 12 hours long. It is very powerful with some energy drinks but i don't recommend doing that all the time unless you absolutely must have the energy. I did this every day for at least a year and the effects were very bad on my body after quitting cold turkey. After I quit I felt like I couldn't rely on my own energy each day to stay awake without sleeping half the day away. It took at least 1 year for my body to return to normal somewhat in a sense of relying on my own energy to get through the day without napping. However, I did overcome that with physical exercise and healthier eating. I think I was actually hooked for a while. I don't notice any kidney or liver failure from that but it was not healthy and my blood pressure levels were always extremely high all the time for an 18 year old. I was a big boy of 250 pounds and was always moving and doing something so maybe that's why I didn't die lol

    Thanks for sharing! I actually did a video on how to detox from caffeine as well, for instances such as yours. Cold turkey is very had and has some unpleasant side effects. The trick is to try and ween yourself off the caffeine slowly to reduce the negative effects and let your body get adjusted to the new caffeine dosages until you are at a much lower level. Unfortunately, cold turkey ends up being the choice of many when they think they may have a problem and want to stop it immediately. It is usually their first instinct to just stop all together. In any case, happy to hear you were able to recover, although a difficult recovery.

  • @CaffeineMan1

    @CaffeineMan1

    4 жыл бұрын

    No, energy drinks will not help you study more and at 13 you really shouldnt be drinking energy drinks. For children, eating fruits and vegetables should provide more than enough energy to keep you going, as your body is young and still growing. Caffeine is not recommended for children and plenty of cans have warnings on them that children under 18 shouldnt have them. Because your body is still growing you dont want to intake anything that accelerates any functions too much. Caffeine can cause rapid heartbeat and if any children have undiagnosed heart problems, it can be dangerous. If you dont think you have enough energy, trust me, Im sure you do. You can probably run laps around me without breathing heavy. :-)

    Healthline dot com has a great article as to the health benefits of tyrosine. Also, Livestrong has an article about foods high inTyrosine. From Livestrong, foods high in tyrosine: “Some of the best sources of tyrosine include Parmesan cheese with 559 milligrams per ounce, roasted soybeans with 1,392 milligrams per cup and roast beef with 1,178 milligrams per 3-ounce serving. Pork chops, salmon, turkey and chicken are also rich in tyrosine, with 900 to 1,000 milligrams per 3-ounce cooked portion” As for drinks with Tyrosine, it will be difficult to get accurate numbers because they aren’t required to list how much is in each drink. Hope that helps!

    4 жыл бұрын

    One and a half 5 hour energy's? Just kidding!!! The half life of caffeine is around 5 hours but varies for everyone, so I would definitely look towards a nootropic beverage such as C4 Smart Energy. It will give you a smooth energy, without the jitters, and provide you with focus while taking the exam. Its 200mgs, so you would be allowed to have 2 in one day and still be at the Mayo Clinic suggested safe limits...but, if you dont want that much caffeine, Id probably bring some caffeine gum with you. The C4 Smart Energy should work for you, but if it starts to wear off, a piece of gum should give you a little jumpstart. 7 Hour exam? Thats craziness.

I’m looking for something that gives sustained energy for focus that doesn’t crash.

  • @CaffeineMan1

    @CaffeineMan1

    4 жыл бұрын

    Not so sure about Celsius for an examine. It IS a “fitness” beverage, as they like to call themselves and it’s 200mgs in a 12 ounce can so it’s going to give a little punch to help you with a workout, not really focus. You can find Uptime in a lot of stores (around me at least). It’s got nootropics and decent caffeine. Just not sure if it will last as long as you need. Game fuel zero is a similar option. I have not tried Triton yet, but will be trying it next week (not sure when your exam is). It’s a nootropic by 7/11, so should be easy to find but it’s not in any 7/11s near me.

    Instead of grocery stores, do you have GNC, vitamin shoppe or any supplement stores? They’d most likely carry the C4 and hopefully C4 Smart. Worth giving them a call if they aren’t far. Also, all the c4 smarts are delicious...when you see how good it works you may want a whole case...so you could just splurge. • @fistinggorilla2091

    The “5 hours” will depend on the individual’s enzymatic rate of CYP1A2. 5 hours is a good estimate for the average person considering caffeine’s half-life is generally considered to be about 3-7 hours. Use of tobacco will increase the metabolic rate of caffeine leading to a shorter duration of action. On the other end of things, certain medications can also increase the duration significantly through inhibition of the CYP1A2 enzyme. Overall, I’d say the claim of a 5 hour duration is generally true for the vast majority of people.
