The reason why the amount of cards drawn is different is because the characters from Dodo Dash require players to discard a card in order to activate their abilities while the others have their abilities triggered without the cost of discarding a card. A lite edition with baby dinosaurs, no text on cards just iconography, and streamlined rules/projectiles is coming soon.

Hi! Thanks for the review! If I have neither the first game nor the expansion, wouldn't it be more convenient to just buy the Dino Dash expansion only?

You can do either since they are both stand alone games. I’m not sure how readily available the new Dodo Dash is available. It just depends on preference. - A
