I don't remember if I did or not, but it wouldn't hurt to use a thin layer.

What if the fuel pump is not lined up right with the cam shaft, will it still bolt on but won't work?

As long as the arm is making contact with the eccentric bolted to the end of the camshaft, it should work. When installing the pump you may feel pressure from the arm contacting the eccentric indicating it is installed correctly.

​What if i did it right but its just not working? Brand new pump, and lines.​ I'd really appreciate a response man I'm struggling right now. It was barely working when I took the old one out, but thn I put the new one in and it didnt work at all. And the old one was worn down. I'm just lost at this point. Please tell me😂@@a.l.o.t5262

Is there gas in the tank? Has the fuel filter even been changed? When mine sits for a while, it takes a minute or two of cranking to get gas back to the carburetor.

Thanks I found the issue the push rod cylinder on the inside of the timing chain area where the wheel rotates to hit the pump is broken so I'm going to change it to an electric pump just to get the truck back on road again thanks!!
