Your dog minds better than most kids I know. As an ex dog handler who likes and trusts dogs more than people, I couldn't help but laugh at your dog at the lake. If I didn't know you better, I'd ask if you ever let your poor dog out of the yard?😄😄

Great job on the recovery. Best thing you could have done for your boots is put on a clean pair of dry socks and wore them until they were dry. I’ve fill several pairs of boots (cowboy and military) with water until the water is coming through the leather and then wore them until dry. I initially did it to my military boots to rinse out/off the salt from the leather. The leather on my military boots had a lot of salt in them and I would get salt lines in the leather on hot days until after I rinsed them out. It can take a pair of uncomfortable boots to be the most comfortable boots you’ve ever had. As the leather dries it shrinks and conforms to your feet.
