    Something else I would mention is to block the wheels to avoid the truck moving once you disconnect the driveshaft. The truck will roll freely if there is any type of incline.

    Did you put Grease or sealer on that metal sleeve that you bought at advanced auto?

    no rtv or gasket on the diff cover reinstall ? what was the pattern and how tight do those cover bolts need to be ? thinking your leaving out some important stuff especially if you were correting a leak and making new ones on that cover replacement ?those to mating surfaces are huge and prone to leak if not cleaned and installed evenly with sealant and or gasket?

  • @TheDogHousetv

    @TheDogHousetv

    Lmao that’s common sense brother, it doesn’t take rocket science to apply RTV to a diff cover. If you have the knowledge to attempt a pinion seal, i would pray to god you have the knowledge to seal your diff cover

  • @TheDogHousetv

    There’s no crush collar on a d70 in a dodge.. there’s only shim/spacer for bearing preload. Unless I’m mistaken

    @@TheDogHousetv ok and I'm currently trying to find the right size repair sleeve one I got same part number as the video was way to small and I'm not having the greatest luck finding the correct size

  • @paintham9430

    @paintham9430

    Yeah, these are shimmed. But even if it was a crush sleeve axle- I would only get a new CS if i rebuilt the differential and put in a new pinion bearing set. If i just re-sealed like in the video, just re-torque for bearing spec. I didn’t know about the new sleeve, i normally just replace the yoke if it’s that bad.

    It will eventually cut into the wear sleeve, but that’s the point of a wear sleeve. If it took 200k miles for it to start leaking. I’m sure the wear sleeve will last 100k +

    I have the m60hd rear axle in mine. The sleeve you put on the yoke on yours do you have a part number for the one I need? If not no biggie but what is the axle code in you're glove box for the rear? Mine is mentioned above and I'm curious if yours is the same.

    If you look at the box on the video, you'll see the range size 1.872" - 1.878", all you have to do is mic your yoke and order by O.D. range!
