I did this on my 01 DRW , didn't have to worry about a transfer case, sure wish i could weld as good as you did in the inside of the cab. Also like the Trans mount you made out of the OEM, I used the trans mounting holes in the frame and fabricated perches for rubber mounts on both sides, then fabricated two L shaped mounts that bolt to the side of my FSO8406 and rest on the mounts.

Yes it would work a 2wd would actually be alot easier. As for gears that really depends. If you get an overdrive trans it will be basically the same as stock. If the trans is not overdrive or you have larger tires. Go online and you can find a calculator where you put in tire size trans, axle gears and speed. Depends I am assuming the 8.3 is and SAE #2 if it is then if you have an SAE #2 flywheel housing and flywheel for the 5.9 then yes. The 8.3 flywheel housing will not fit the 5.9.

Unfortunately I did the 10 speed before I had a KZread channel and didn't take any video. Installing the 10 speed was the same as the 6 speed other than the air system and i did a 2in body lift instead of cutting out the transmission tunnel. If your 10 speed has an SAE 2 bellhousing you can use all the parts listed in the description.

Cost really depends on how much of a hurry you are in and how much you search for deals. Mine was close to $5000, I paid $300 for the trans but almost $3000 for drive shafts. For this one the owner paid $1700 for the trans but I got the drive shafts from tom woods instead of locally so the were $1000 instead of $3000
