8 speed V6 2012 Charger is a beast! Trust me it does not dissapoint . I love my Blacktop I get about 25 mpg right now and I haven't even broke in the engine. No mods no nothing, I just got it dyno, 284 HP. Not bad at all. 0-60 6.3 seconds , its a muscle car point blank.

I absolutely love my 2011 charger rt max AWD . Very comfortable inside and gorgeous exterior . They hit home run with this car . You have to have the fin on the back . It really adds a lot to the looks . Way to go Chrysler .

Charger is in a different legue from other sedans at this price point mainly due to the RWD and aggressive styling.

I agree, but it's shame you have to upgrade to the SXT to have an 8. I'm not to big of a fan of the Mercedes 5 auto either, but it was a big improvment over the 42LE 4A.. What I do know it that it did return 29 MPG avg and more than 33 MPG cruising down the freeway. My only complaint about the new pentastar engine is that it could use a higher tourqe rating which is only 10 ftlbs more than the engine it replaced. But that said it is the best full size car out there.

The " old " charger had poor visability? I had a 68 Charger R/T with a 440 magnum engine and I could see out of it just fine. You could also see well out of the rear view mirror .That is where you looked for the competition.

+zombienectar By old Charger, I think he meant the previous generation (2006-2010). But yeah, the old Chargers must have been awesome.

i like it. there just arent any rwd cars anymore, and the tunnel to the back is a small price to pay for a much better driving experiance than front drive. also, all wheel drive cars also have a driveshaft going to the rear. awd is an option on many full size sedans (including Charger), so its not even a concesion. Also Mr. Weird Beard, the v6 is a good engine, but dont lie - the only reason to have it is if you cant afford the Hemi.

@Intechdude300 Remember the Super Bowl ad? Chrysler promoted the 200. But 200 has some work to do according to CR. They should've promoted the Charger, and its luxury cousin 300 as its primary car. Recently, Chrysler did an ad for the 300 with Ndamukong Suh with his trip to his hometown of Portland, OR. They should've promoted the 300 or Charger. Also, remember next model year the Pentastar engine gets the new 8-speed auto. HEMI engine shoppers... not so lucky.

dmazero Thanks for the response. I was looking to buy a used SXT with the V6 and 8-speed, just like yours. Why would police fleets used Chargers if they weren't solid, reliable cars? My town uses Chargers for their cruisers, though I don't know what engine and transmission they have in them. When Consumer Reports' data says the Charger is unreliable, I'd like to know why. I live in Massachusetts and thus am a bit concerned about driving one in the snow, though, since I'd get the RWD version.

Now, both the Charger and the Chrysler 300 uses the 8-speed automatic in the Pentastar V6. Only the 5.7L HEMI uses the 5-speed auto; not sure when they'll put the 8-speed auto with the cars. It's there in the Ram 1500 Truck.

There are no styling queus from the old chargers. There's nothing redeeming about this or any ugly 4-door 5000pound sedan. Nothing like my 1968 Charger. This has absolutely no cool factor about it, it's the same as driving a taxi cab, even the ones with a so called hemi in them. Keep the challenger, kill this charger as it's an insult to the real namesake. Ugly from front to back and everything in between. At least it's not orange, the f*cking ugliest color ever on a car, especially chargers.
