I have nothing but respect for this young lady. I'm 76 now and I am not going to die until see the rest of her career!

What a lovely, hardworking and talented lady. When I watched Almaz Ayana destroy all in 2016 I thought I would never see a better female distance runner. Letesenbet has proven me wrong. Everything is perfect with regard to her form she is the epitome of grace in motion. Even more remarkably she has managed to keep breaking records whilst a civil war rages in the Tigray region. She hasn’t seen her family for over a year. I wish only the best for this wonderful runner

It's amazing to do debut marathon and lower the world record, it will be absolutely notable feat in history of running.

Beyond being a super athlete, she seems to be a kind person and the way she talks and smiles shows just how happy she is with running. My best wishes and success from a brazilian fan! 😉🏃‍♀

Westerners Runners should learn humbleness first and maybe maybe keep up with the ferocious pace of Ethiopians and Kenyans! What a great Lady.

I just love watching Gidey run, she is so majestic and elegant, she has such a beautiful and economical running style, no wasted motion. What is even more astounding is that she holds the records for the 5k, the 10k and the half marathon and she is only in her early 20s.

So warm and humble and just happens to be a multiple world record holder.

We should show that to all the young girls who think they cannot do it. Yes you can do it. Whatever you're trying to achieve, whoever you are, you can do it. What an inspiration she is.

She is too humble person. I am from the same region she and it she is known for being caring and down to earth person. It doesn't even seem as she knows she is one of the best, if not the best female distance runner.

Few celebrities conduct themselves with the grace that she does, indicating a privileged upbringing. I wish her a lengthy, injury-free career in running.

She could still be a pilot when she retires .. probably a doctor too but that is a lot of school / university to miss out on. #worldpreparetobeastonished
