Its the Maan samaan of a muslim girl. U cant just make them strip for education. And hijab is never forced on a girl to wear. If a girls wants to make her relationship stronger with god she chooses hijab. And once she has decided to wear it, why is the country asking a 19- 22 year old to strip?... And many dont know that this issue was raised after a boy pulled the a girls hijab in front of everyone. And the principal took this matter to the bjp politician. So Clearly it was never the religion which was the problem. A failed parent who couldnt teach her son to respect girls. And a principal who made a school matter into political matter.

I would agree with you is hijab was a culture. But its a religion. And honestly... this matter is made into religious matter. Its a whole gender problem here. Half of the people commenting about girls not wearing hijab are men. I hope and pray that these girls get into colleges which dont discriminate them on the basis of their religion. I as a Muslim went to Christian college and hijabis were free to wear hijabs with uniforms. Infact carrying a scarf was common in our college... many carried (all religions)

India is country that cannot be divided... we have all religions. And we are too diverse. As much same the four ends of India are that much there is difference. We even have tribals. We are not in a place to pick on just one religion. Even banning on pork or beef wont make sense in this country. Pork is a delicacy for Eastern indians and beef is a delicacy for south indians. It will be too unfair for India. Maybe ban it required states.. but still that is like discrimination. Before banning these kind of things.. why dsnt govt ban cigarettes etc which is killing people!

Secondly refer Indian constitutional article no 19,25a,b also 28-3 u need to understand the situation neutrally and not to get emotional towards the faith u follow..... Also, why don't we question this concept of Uniforms? Why do we think this is some ultimate perspective. I understand that it has it's pros, but it also has it's cons. Why are students forced to wear what they are not necessarily comfortable in? I had a uniform that involved a short skirt, which was contradictory to my family values. I had a uniform that was a a kurta and a pant, it made me feel too hot. Each of us have different needs. I can stress enough on the importance of empathy. It's safe to challenge our views. It's okay to disagree if you're disagreeing in a truthful manner, but please don't disagree in order to attack and hurt.

Well the basic idea behind uniforms is that it's meant to promote equality. If a particular school did not have uniforms the rich and affluent kids would wear all kinds of fancy and expensive dresses while the poorer kids would have no choice but to wear the clothes their parents could afford. So I understand your concerns about uniforms being uncomfortable and unsuitable for Indian climate, and I do think uniforms in India need to be improved in that regard, but at the end of the day I think there needs to be some kind of a uniform in order to foster a sense of equality.

Guys u need to understand it's not about hijab or no hijab its about freedom to choose, its about u choosing what u want to wear. Forcing someone to wear a hijab is as much a wrong thing as it is to force someone to remove it. I Myself m a Muslim and i don't wear hijab i mean i do but only while praying because i find not wearing a hijab much more comfortable but that doesn't make me any less of a Muslim its a choice u choose and no one should be forced.

The argument is not about the right to wear hijab in general. It's about whether it can be worn in schools. School rules on uniform must be followed. Else student can find education elsewhere where the wearing of religious symbols is permitted. It's as simple as that.

The current government must bring uniform civil code ASAP.....some people will think of it as a "threat to freedom"...but to preserve our rich heritage and sanity of the general masses.....we need to take strict actions... democracy gaya bhaad mein...UCC is the need of the hour

This is so unfair, these girls don't get the choice to choose their outfit; they can't stop wearing hijab as their parents will never allow it. So we should stop blaming these innocent girls it's their religion and parents who makes them obligatory to wear it. I hope this doesn't effect their education these woman needs to be empowered. Maybe some of them likes to wear hijab but you know we don't wear clothes to schl that feels comfortable, school makes the rules. When students get categorized based on their religious attire then how they will learn to adjust with other religion peers. *THEY NEED TO GO TO SCHOOL TO UNDERSTAND CONCEPT OF BLACK BODY RADIATION*

All of a sudden some colleges make a norm that they won't allow a dresscode that was okay until then. The next day people gang up with saffron shawls (which was never a part of the uniform but is okay all of a sudden ). In the gimmick to win elections, the state ruined education of many kids. I don't support purdah or burkha in any religion. But in many conservative families, they only let their kids go out in this cloth. Or else their education would be denied. And it is not a decision taken officially, with joint meetings of PTA, staff or anything. It was just a planned ruckus. Everyone has the right to wear what they want, be it a turban, a rosary, a purdah, a robe whatever. Their fight is not just for them, it is for reminding ohr government and the people that they cannot take away our freedom and hide their incompetent rule with gimmicks and deprive the right of education of the kids.
