50+ years ago I had shoulder surgery. As I was checking out a nurse asked me what I was singing when she rolled me back from the surgery, I was coming back up from anesthesia so fast that I never went to recovery. She said part of the song was “making chili in a bathtub.” I had been singing “Molly Dee” a song I hadn’t heard in 4-5 years.

In 1999 I heard AC/DC for the first Time (outside of movies) on the radio on the way to a laparoscopic procedure for my reflux disease. When I came out of anesthesia I was singing ACDC and that's how I became a fan😂😂😂 2022 I told the surgical team if they have to do CPR to play "kickstart my heart"😂😂😂

I went into surgery a week ago, but first, i had to get a g-scope done. As im going under with oxygen, i ask the nurse if this is what oxygen should taste like. After that, when i went into surgery for a biopsy and a removal of my appendix, I woke up crying because of the pain.

One time after surgery, I was in the recovery room, I just got pain meds. I heard a nurse talking to another nurse and I swear I heard her say, "can I get 12 gay people?" So I asked my mom if that's what she said, she said, "no, sh3 said can I have a 12 gage needle?" I laughed hysterically! 😂😂😂

    - When I had my wisdom teeth taken out the nurse told my mom she liked her necklace. I told her it was cubic zirconia. - I had teeth pulled and when I came to my nurse was looking for my flamingo poncho. I don't remember asking for it. But I must have requested it since she was making sure I had it. - I had surgery and I asked for the time, I told them I couldn't see the clock without my glasses. They asked me if I wanted them I told them I didn't want to see.

I actually remember waking out of anesthesia the last time I had surgery. It was over four years ago and I just had jaw surgery so my mouth was wired shut with rubber bands. I try to ask if I was breathing in my lips because my face was swollen dew to the surgery. I had to ask a couple times because I keep on falling asleep and the anesthesiologist could not understand me until I wrote it down.

I was getting my wisdom teeth removed at a private dentist office. I was put under for the surgery. At some point I woke up and felt a bit panicked. My dentist had turned away and then back and I was awake. He looks at me and says: "Don't panic, I am almost done. We were just about to sew you up." I just eneded up sitting there while he finishes sewing the holes in my mouth closed, I could feel some of it. They finished me up and then had me walk over to a waiting room. They were explaining after care to my mom and I just spent the whole time slipping in and out of consicence. On the drive home, I told my mom: "I woke up during the surgery. I could feel the doctor doing things in my mouth. It was strange." They had told her what happened.

Jeez that "I felt him doing things in my mouth" out of context is kinda fucked up

I didn’t have a funny reaction that I’m aware of, but all I remember while getting my wisdom teeth removed is waking up in the middle of the procedure and raising my hand. The reason I did this is, during a previous visit to the dentist, the doc told me to raise my hand anytime I felt any pain. I remember waking up, then felt like I was absolutely drunk, but still aware of everything going on around me. Everyone was super helpful and nice. Great experience.

Right before the pandemic hit in 2020 I went to my dentist to get my wisdom teeth removed. As they were setting up the anesthesia, I asked “Am I going to have dreams?” Someone, either the dentist himself or one of his nurses, stopped and laughed, saying “I don’t know, no one’s ever asked that before.” Then the time came for the anesthetic. They plunged it into me, asked how I felt, and I went “I don’t really feel anything- woah. WOOOOAAAAAAAH” as all of a sudden I got light headed. Having the experience of drinking alcohol now, I can compare it to the sort of contradictory feeling of weightlessness and heaviness. I didn’t dream. It was more like a slow blink, the next thing I knew my mouth felt like it was full of cotton. Bonus: I had twisted my ankle before the procedure so I came in on crutches, but since I was still high as a kite my dad had to piggy back carry me to his truck, and we left the office, one of the receptionists went “Woo! Go, dad!” I made sure to tell him I loved him when we got home and he put me to bed.

My parents told me this one. I'd wake up, see my parents, and exclaimed: YOU ARE HERE!!!! Then I fell back asleep to waking up a few seconds later to see my parents and exclaimed: YOU ARE HERE!!!! as time went on, I'd say: YOU ARE HERE!!! I got to pee! To fall back asleep again, and eventually, I made up a got to pee song. When it was time for Mt parents to go, my dad said he had to do it one more time. He stood in my field of vision, and when I woke up, I again (for maybe the 15th time) exclaimed: YOU ARE HERE!!! I have short-term memory strength at 1%, and it really shows after surgeries.

I got special hospital underwear that was easy for them to remove before my hysterectomy last year but for some reason they forgot to put them back on me so I was waking up to an apologizing nurse telling me it was best to stay under the blanket for now because I had arrived without underwear on and I couldn't get a fresh pair until I was fully awake and having been rolled back to my own room.
