Doctor Who Review of Season 1 episode 2 for the BBC and Disney team up series. We all knew the BBC was going down this road with Doctor Who, but Disney seem to have accelerated everything. While you could understand a bit of ego with a quality TV series, that's not what this series is so all the commentary and interviews attacking the fans by the shows cast are doubly strange. It's like they are deliberately trying to crush their own viewership. So confident are they those viewers can be replaced with a big new American one. But much like episode 1, even if you removed all the messaging from the episode, it's still bad television. With a nonsensical plot, poor pacing and lack of any serious stakes or emotion. It's just not good telly. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

Usually 10:1 is the average. 333:1 means his audience like his content (me included - I couldn't watch Dr Who without his commentary even if someone paid me). If you can actually form some valid criticism, then do that, but we all know that you have nothing to defend if you are a fan of this shit.

I have two degrees in music. The "Devil's Chord", also known as a tri-tone, is purely metaphorical and was not actually banned by the church. It was called the devil's chord as a warning, because it's so ugly, newer composers were often instructed not to risk using it. "If you play this, the devil appears", was an old form of hyperbole. It's like if I were to say to a student today, "If you play this, the sun explodes and we all die." It was a joke back then. Not literal. Seemingly all of this new Doctor only exists to perpetuate dated, debunked rhetoric, with no substance at all.

It's not a lack of thought on the showrunners' part. It's that they're not interested in taking any sort of principled position at all. They're interested in manufacturing a sound bite. The whole point is that the bite doesn't require any thought to digest, and it can be forgotten for the next news cycle because, again, no thought is necessary to consume it.

An observation on the ending. The Beatles were famously musically illiterate. They did not know how to read notes, especially Paul. After he became one of the most famous songwriters ever, he was tasked with writing a symphony, and he needed to work with a more classically trained composer, someone who could actually put notes on the staff. This show knows nothing about anything.

most electric guitarists or bassists can't read musical notiation it's also a bit in the nature of the guitar, where you can play the same notes in different positions, and there are many ambiguities and quicks that make it overly convoluted in classicam music theory, suspended, augmented and added chords all over the place because of open strings and all that, just knowing the chord won't tell you much about the fingering, but one can basically triad the shit out of anything on a guitar ofcourse clasiscal guitar uses notation, even to the point it proves piano notation insufficient for guitar, because it doesn't tell you the exact fingerings you may need for real time sight reading, the PIMA system does but how hard can it be on a bass, right? it's not like you're playing 4 notes at a time or strumming much, it's going to be down to rhythm more there ;) but yeah, disparu doesn't know shit about music :D

I did too. I gave Jodie a chance. The awful writing and acting let me down. I gave the new RTD era a chance. Honestly, if it were not for star power from David Tennant and Neil Patrick Harris, the episodes were also fairly awful, except maybe for the Giggle. But the excessive musical numbers, and childish plots are just not Dr. Who. Ncuti Gatwa is such a baffling choice. He is not the Doctor. He doesn't even use a British accent, for god's sake. At least Jodie had that.

Also '78. This show gave me ethical, educational, science-loving and reading values even my parents didn't put into me. It's funny, because of that show I can tell you: a better violin duel was in the 1984 version of "Unfaithfully Yours" with Armand Assante and Dudley Moore; that the notes hovering above the piano only show the length of the note, not its actual pitch; that world history is screwed because the dance number in 1963 wouldn't have corrected all the deviations since 1925; and Davies is now obviously incompetent and needing professional psychiatric help; but sure doesn't deserve it. Oh, and that the "destroyed future" scene is a total theft from the Tom Baker episode "Pyramids Of Mars". ... whatever that festering pair-pile of trash those last two episodes were, not even time travel would help me understand that. That wasn't even a shambling skin-suit. It's all gone.

I can see the design as a potentially great villain, but the execution lacked. To undefined and way too metaphorical, with no real rime or reason to it. Imo it isn’t the drag queen villain scheme that kills it, but the bad music theme and the „god with powers that we don’t need to apply consistently“ theme that kills it. It’s just badly written and doesn’t know how to hide it, so that all the plot holes just burry it.
