@@deVisserFamily That’s okay, no need. I’d only phone if the hotline could provide a doctor who (AHAHA) could help Moffat be a little less wet whilst I indulge in that wetness. Truth is, I was in Moffat recently. It felt pretty nice. It was wet mostly, but also warm. Scotland really is a nice place. I’d recommend going to Moffat completely.

@@Mowingthefrontlawn imo them mixing up and switching out certain items of clothing seems like a much better idea than the drastically different outfits each episode. Maybe they could add more episodes and sprinkle the one-off outfits in those.

God I love seeing Moffat back, being a part of Who again

For all his shortcoming his era is my favorite. I really like how he characterizes the docto, used the time travel aspect, and brought together the old and new through clever mechanism

He's good but sometimes he gets very formulatic as well. The one major complaint I had about his era (12's specifically) was that Capaldi stories felt like they lacked a lot of variety till we got to Bill.

Only reason Ruby Road was the exception when RTD was back was probably just so the specials and Christmas special he originally agreed to would give him the time to set everything up. Plus a very Christmas-themed companion in general. So the ones now in the future from now on are back to normal post-Chibnall.

Moff wrote all the best Xmas specials - the Matt and Peter era ones were, by far, the best, with The Husbands Of River Song, The Snowmen and Twice Upon A Time being some of the best Who ever. Welcome back, Steven. Can't wait for this one.

He had the strongest story of S14, hopefully that trend continues. Moffat has some banger Christmas episodes, TUAT and ACC being the standouts.

Moffat does a far better job when limited to single episodes as opposed to being the show runner, so I'm looking forward to this.

Despite not being the progenitor of it moffat always did Christmas specials better than Davis, he always made Christmastime center stage wheras with Davis the Christmas was incidental: his version of a Christmas carol is one of my favorite who episodes ever. Besides I believe he actually did double the amount of Davis did.

The first Christmas special was called "The Christmas Invasion" And it took place on Christmas Eve. And Harriet Jones said, "This is a day of peace on Earth." And they all ate Christmas dinner together. That's a lot of Christmas to me :)

@@billkoch2189 I don’t mean to say his episodes didn’t have a lot of Christmas spirit, they very much did and as a big old softie I love that sort of story, in fact I think it’s the most important type of story in the world, which is why I feel so strongly about who did it better. Christmas shouldn’t be about sword fighting aliens or baby-eating goblins, it should be about spreading love to everyone and if some people refuse to be persuaded the doctor should react with sadness, not glibness. In my opinion the ultimate doctor who episode ever is moffats first special, which makes my heart feel like it’s about to burst just thinking about it. It also gave me my favorite dr who line ever: “nobody important? Blimey, that’s incredible! Do you know that in 900 years of time and space I have never ever met anybody who wasn’t important before?” The swashbuckling of davises episodes is all well and good, but in my opinion it’s really a distraction from Christmas. Call moffat cheesy or insincere or arrogant or whatever else people say about him, but he’s focused on what he wants from a story.

While A Christmas Carol is my favourite of the Christmas specials, I have to disagree overall. I found all of Moffat's Christmas specials after A Christmas Carol to be kind of dull and uninteresting, while the Davies specials were at the very least always fun to watch. Though I do give Moffat credit for at least trying, unlike Chibnall who just did away with them altogether.

I still can't believe they're handling a Christmas episode to Moffat again. He loves the Christmas specials, though I believe he once mentioned to be out of ideas by the time he finished a full series and just went along with it. Hopefully, it's better than Boom. Russel is my favorite showrunner, but it’s a close competition for Moffat (granted the rest of the competition is Chibnall… so… that’s like Mariana Trench vs Mount Everest), and if he wants to do a second run, I say let him. Maybe we’ll even get Smith’s master in a fake multi-doctor story

It should have been illegal for Moffat to leave IMO

Just can’t wait till the ends I was thinking I can wait for years until Jodie goes then I thought Russell Davis is coming back. Its funny the show is getting less viewers/ratings than Sylvester McCoy's era yet they cancelled it back then, oh we need another Michael Grade to cancel the shit out of this shit show. I feel have have to watch it because i'm a fan and a glimmer of hope it might reset and we can forget all the shit thats happened since Tennant left first time around. After all its about time

The doctor was asleep through almost the entirety of the Christmas Invasion, and the Sycorax were pretty bland with a whiney Rose to boot. I would call it my least favorite but The Doctor the Widow and the Wardrobe exists. If TCI is your high bar for Christmas Specials, I don't think that's too good. A Christmas Carol, Twice Upon a Time and The Church on Ruby Road have been my favorites.

Moffat’s: “Beat that, casualty!” Is a bit of a self burn imo. Because Dr. who isn’t a soap it’s supposed to be premier UK television. If Moffat thought the only competition he needed to be better than was casualty then it explains some of the writing decisions toward the end of his stint as showrunner
