I was at a comic con once and someone asked him when they did the Q&A why he never flicked it open when he was using Matt's sonic. Capaldi explained that the sonic wasn't locked together so if he flicked it open the top half would of come flying off and broke in half.

As I mentioned before, it was your reviews that compelled me to buy the 10th and 12th Doctors universal remote. I got the 12th and it was flawless bar one thing. One of the claws extends out further than the rest and its screwing with my head lol

Im surprised they havent done the 12th doctor's second sonic yet as that has clear emitter sections making it the eassiest new series screwdriver to make into a universal remote and knowing the seemingly endless features of prior sonic screwdriver universal remotes there may even be red and torch effects

I actually just recently bought this Screwdriver online for $65 (£47). Someone on Facebook Marketplace was selling it for that cheap and it's barely been used. I got lucky finding that kinda deal.

something that I found cool is that you can hold it with any of the sides in any direction and it will always register the sides as the way they're facing.

My sound chip in my screwdriver failed. I asked WandCo. if I could pay them to fix it. They told me to mail it in and they would fix it for free. I've owned it for a couple years but they are still determined to take care of their customer. Amazing company.

i know right i just got lucky and got a working 10th sonic screwdriver remote off ebay. everybody is really trying their hardest to charge like 700 dollars for the 12th doctors sonic. pretty ridiculous.

That happens with any amount of presses after 5 too. 7 and 8 have special sound effects if you just tap and don't hold though.

I'm saving up for this it's going to be the first thing I get when I get a job

This is so freaking cool. I think I need a screwdriver for christmas.

I bought this the day it was released, I'm honestly really happy with it, I've bad it for years, and have had no problems with it, my friends love it when I pull it out and turn up the volume with it.

I managed to get my hands on one with my tax return two years ago now and I've just gone and done something I really shouldn't have, but really wanted to anyway. I repainted my sonic to look like the Rubbertoe Custom Mk 1 sonic (the black and silver one) while avoiding the emitter and core just to keep it functional. So I now have a custom 11th sonic remote.

By far my favorite votesaxon07 video right now I must have watched it at least 50 times

My favourite addition is probably the non-rechargeable batteries. My 10th Doctor remote doesn't work anymore because of how the old batteries worked

I love this remote so much.. I just got it today and I can't stop messing with it. Though it comes open very easily, is that normal?

also there are 3 features he left out, or didnt know about, but in FX mode if you press the button 7 times it makes an alarm Sound effect, and if you press it 8 times it will beep a quote In morse code, and if you press and hold the button down after 8 presses then hold it down on the 9th press it acts as a Sort of flashlight, i found this out with mine.

I’m finally getting this at Christmas :)

I sanded down my emitter so it's not clear but more a cloudy green and also flattened the emitter so it's not as round looks even better just doing that.

Update for people wanting one. 11th sonic: Range from average £100/$100 - £300/$500. Roughly 10 out there on sale. 12th sonic: very rare and much more expensive. Range from average £400/$600-£600/$800. Only about 2 on sale now. 10th sonic is equally as rare as the 12th but not the most expensive. Probably 1/2 being sold out there. I saw one for £360. Overall: Best chance getting 11th which still looks near identical to the 12th sonic. It’s unfortunate it doesn’t extend and has a button on the back with motion controls. In my opinion the 11th makes up for its display case. The 11th screwdriver is the easiest chance you will have of getting one. Only place I found selling sonics is eBay. Prices will only rise rapidly.

@@querimoniouslimner8081 hi mate, I luckily got mine for £250. That is a very good price. It may be the only chance you ever get of getting one. Especially for that cheap. Just make sure you double check what it includes/what works/it’s condition etc.

Is it bad that i disrupted a school assembly using this. I managed to turn off and mess with the huge tv (yes we have a tv in stead of a white board). I just used stealth mode and kept turning it off. I never got caught.

I'm getting this for a cosplay and I want to know do you have to go through all of the commands or can you just go straight to effect mode. I'm a huge fan of you by the way and have seen every video since season 3

Kinda feels like doctor who is inventing itself. In another few years these "replica" sonic screwdrivers are going to have a bunch more features and who knows what could happen next! Maybe a man looking to run away steals it and never looks back.

One question: is one of the motions to control the TV just a straight button press with no motion? Like the TV be gone mode except you can apply it to a button on a regular remote

oh, in FX mode, You press the button 3 times and let go in the third, will make the double click sound in the 11th (the alarmish noise)

Just wondering, what happens if you connect the bottom and top halves of the 12th and 11th doctors universal remotes? Does it work and can you even do it? I just thought because they use the same screw design in the collar section you could probably mix and match.

The top half of the sonic has grooves to “lock” it in place before you insert the screws. I’ve already tried this and it doesn’t work because the grooves on the top halves are different.

Hey bro my sonic screwdriver doesn't work when I use the left and right gesture, I programmed the screwdriver to follow my tv remote commands, but when I move it right or left it doesn't work, any advice?

If only this was still in production...

I have a question about this sonic, I want to reprogram some of the gestures with different buttons on my remote, and I need to erase the memory bank, I can't remember how you do it but I've done it before. Does anyone know how to erase the memory banks?

Josh Turner I just got mine and can't hold it upside without it popping open and one of the claws I think is basically too firmly in place so the spring doesn't work...so on occasion when flung open the claw doesn't fan out enough

Hey VoteSaxon. So just about 3 days ago my 12th doctor sonic universal remote arrived. Like any big whovian I was extremely excited to open it up and use it. But sadly after only a day of usage and without dropping it or roughing about with it I found that that the sonic will extend even due to a small bit of gravitational force. Also the button has been a pain, due to the fact that it will not turn on when the button is held and in FX mode the basic sonic sound dies out as soon as I press and hold the button. my question is, did you ever have this problem with your sonic? Thanks Saxon.

and have g a rechargeable battery would mean more time, but would've been cool, as getting the collar and umscrewing it and taking the batteries out then putting new ones in would probably be faster than charging it

Why would anyone get a prop replica after seeing this? Other than the emitter color and the fact that the gold sections being plastic this is damn close! Add in the facts that it is a fraction of the cost of a replica and it actually fucking works, and you have the perfect sonic replica out there! I've been searching around for one, and I haven't seen one for under 200 USD, a bit more than its original retail, but that is still far less than the 700 USD I would spend buying a CT sonic.
