I love how the movie ends, it shows Doctor Strange wishing for a normal life knowing he can never have one again.... and the burden of being the New Sorcerer Supreme.

the imagery was so powerful. it's just him looking at his paralyzed hands, pondering whether he should restore them and then deciding to stay the way he is and embrace his purpose. doctor strange is mystical and out of the world, but elements like this humanize and make the story relatable

I don't think he's even wishing for a normal life, he made the choice to stick with magic. He could've used it to return his hands to their former glory and continued on his previous path being a surgeon, just like Pangborn used magic to heal his back and go back to his old life. And that's what I love so much about Strange and his development, he went from being someone who craved attention and validation with his surgery and only taking cases that would benefit him, to someone who died thousands of times over and over with no one knowing (not even Mordo or Wong since Kaecillious said he was running away) in order to save the world. And his last scene at the window just shows that he knows what he's giving up but it's the right thing to do and he's going to dedicate himself to helping people without the world at large knowing about it. Incredible arc imo.

I would't mind if Michael Giacchino ends up scoring the entire MCU. He's pretty much a young John Williams at this point.

***** I just really want the MCU characters to get memorable themes. Williams' Superman and Elfman's Batman are pure masterpieces. Elfman's Spider-Man is damn good, too. It would be nice to have a theme that you immediately associate with an MCU character.

Alan Silvestri's theme for Captain America: The First Avenger was extremely memorable imho. As is his Avengers Theme.

I find his style more like that of Danny Elfman than John Williams; Giacchino needs to tone down his musical gimmickry a bit, and focus on developing his themes and leimotifs.

@@Etherdave I strangely know exactly what you mean. People like Williams, Zimmer, and Elfman have great themes because they are personal and musical, not because of a bunch of extra bells and whistles.

The Strange theme from 3:35 onward is honestly one of the best of Giacchino's career, and certainly one of the top 5 in the MCU along with the Avengers theme by Silvestri, Can you dig It? for Iron Man 3 by Brian Tyler and From Earth to Asgard by Patrick Doyle. Glad that the Marvel movies are starting to get memorable scores at last. And this movie is a blast from beginning to end, can't wait to see it again.

Talha Masood Me too. I've been wanting the MCU start being better to their scores. The only theme we've seen carried over from film to film is the Avengers theme. I really believe it would greatly complement the connected feeling of the MCU if they would start carrying over their other most memorable themes! They really need to do this because they've been criticized for seemingly not caring enough about their soundtracks. They've taken the first step with better/more memorable individual soundtracks lately (adding Michael Giacchino to the team is a huge plus too), but the next step is to acknowledge the importance of a memorable theme accompanying our heroes, even if just a little, when they're all together in the Avengers!

Barring this and Avengers theme by Silvestri, I'm not so sure about rating the other 3 that highly but as far as overall score goes, my top 3 are Iron Man by Ramin Djawadi (even without the used songs), this one and Silvestri's Avenegers (it gave me goose bumps at the cinema during the scene when Cap came out of the shadows in Infinity War).

This entire soundtrack gets me even more excited to see this film.

Michael Giacchino's theme for Doctor Strange is forever an outstanding achievement in film scoring, and remains a chief inspiration for me in composing for rousing heroics and daring-do.

Dr. saw broken he's watch and he's hands was still shaking and become Doctor Strange

When that melody comes out in every soundtrack of Dr.Strange i think that is his responsability of being the sorcerer supreme and having to deal with all of that on his shoulders, but anyways he does it because he wants to save people.

Got to say Doctor strange score is my new favourite. This and Danny elfman spiderman score are awsome

I hope we get a theme mashup of Spider-Man and Doctor Strange's themes in No Way Home. They sound similar at some moments so it could work.

Is it just me or does some of Dr. Strange's themes have an eerie similarity to Star Trek Into Darkness' Main Theme? Both soundtracks were by Michael Giacchino so I guess some similarities are bound to occur, it just seems weird to me.

One's criativity can only go so far. Some composers do very similar work over the years, like Hans Zimmer or Philip Glass.
