Dormammu: You've come to _die_. Your world is now my- what is this!? An illusion? Strange: No, this is real. Dormammu: Good. (Dormammu kills Strange again) Strange: Dormammu~! I've come to bargain. Dormammu: What is happening? Strange: Since you gave Kaecilius power from your dimension, I brought some power from _mine_. This... is time. Endless. Looped. Time. Dormammu: YOU *_DARE_*!? (Dormammu crushes Stephen) Strange: Dormammu, I've come to bargain! Dormammu: You cannot do this forever. Strange: Actually, I _can_. This is how things are now! You and me. Trapped in this moment... _Endlessly_. Dormammu: Then you will spend eternity _dying_! Strange: Yes, but everyone on Earth will live. Dormammu: But you will suffer! Strange: (smirks) Pain's an old friend. (Dormammu kills Strange over and over again) Dormammu: End this. You will never win. Strange: No... but I can lose again. And again. And again forever. That makes you my prisoner. Dormammu: Stop this. Make this stop. SET ME FREE! Strange: No... I've come to bargain. Dormammu: What is it you want? Strange: (forms the hand signs we all know and love) Take your zealots from the Earth. End your assault on my world. _Never_ come back. Do it... and I'll break the loop. (A few minutes later, Dormammu sucks Kaecilius and his followers into the Dark Dimension, turning them into Mindless Ones in the process)

Why do people keep saying "I'm HERE to bargain" ? It's "I've COME to bargain." Sheesh, if you're going to act like that scene was your favourite know the line.

What really makes Strange one of my favorite characters of the MCU is how he evolved from what he was to: "*Dormammu*: Then you will spend eternity dying! *Strange*: Yes, but everyone on Earth will live. *Dormammu*: But you will suffer! *Strange*: Pain's an old friend." And Michael Giacchino makes you *feel* that sacrifice through 3:23 That part kinda makes me sad though, poor strange :c

Doctor Strange used a very unique way to defeat the juggernaut made of energy Dormammu. He was winning because Dormammu was stuck in a endless time loop that would restart after Dormammu killed Doctor Strange which is what made Dormammu a prisoner of Doctor Strange and exactly why he decided to give up and accept the offer for the bargain since Doctor Strange would end the time loop only if Dormammu and his disciples end the assault on his world, and never return to Earth.

2:33 this was the part where the song shone most for ME, i just like how it sounds

This soundtrack made the scene more intense, like a boss fight.

Terrific song in a terrific movie.

I suspect that the loops went on for longer than we're shown, kinda like how Groundhog Day skipped over just how many loops Murray's character goes through.

According Scott Derrickson, there is or was a deleted scene where Dormammu says "We've been through this like a thousand times!". It is heavily implied that the whole "I've come to bargain!" thing lasted much longer than shown in the actual film, and that Dormammu, unfamiliar with the effects of time, bored and raging, and also seeing that Strange wasn't going to give up, just assumed it would be better to just leave Earth alone.

How many seconds in eternity? The shepherd's boy says, "There's this mountain of pure diamond..." Oh, wait, wrong time-traveling doctor continuously dying and coming back to life over and over to win. :P

Is it strange (no pun intended) that this is the second Marvel movie to have its climax take place in a Chinese city which is attacked be a massive threat from the sky in which the hero has to fly up and defeat that entity. The other was Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer though that takes place in Shanghai and Doctor Strange took place in Hong Kong or was it the other way round? Well I'm not an expert on travel, cultures and geography or whatever but they're both Chinese right?
