Doctor: MJ was in a 'never-never land' of meds

Dr. Steven Shafer testified that Michael Jackson had such complex drug problems that he was in uncharted waters medically, calling it a "pharmacological never-never land."Dr. Conrad Murray told LAPD detectives that he thought Jackson was possibly addicted to painkillers, and he was also trying to wean Jackson off of the anesthetic propofol. Dr. Shafer testified that Jackson's unique combination of problems would have been a challenge for any doctor to treat, because not enough research exists on the effects of propofol withdrawal. There are much higher mortality rates and health complications when propofol is used over longer periods of time. This has been proven in medical studies over and over which is why they like to keep people under for a matter of hours versus several days and the risks are significantly increased when someone is anestitized for weeks or months on end. MJ was getting propofol everyday for months and this in itself causes the risk of serious complications to rise dramatically, even in healthy individuals.

    Michael overdosed himself by accident, but Murray was negligent to begin with for leaving him alone so long and not having proper equipment to revive him. He deserved more then 2 years in jail.

    How can you overdose yourself of an anaesthetic? It knocks you out, Murray was just neglectful and didn’t have proper equipment to monitor Michael. Also what kind of cardiologist don’t know how to do cpr?

    How in gods name do you leave anyone in the middle of cardiac arrest he should of at least had the bodyguards start cpr, who knows maybe they knew cpr. Theres no such thing as cpr on the bed unless it a hospital bed and the 1 hand theory its madness. How does a cardiologist get certified without actually knowing how to save a patient properly in any type of arrest? Did he get his medical degree online?

    I have a theory about that. I think Michael was in the beginning of brain death. The only reason he made it till June 25th was because Murray actually knocked him out with other drugs, the benzos, which actually forced Michael to sleep properly for the first time in almost 60 days. Lack of rem sleep will kill you too. Michael jackson probably had a very common problem called sleep apena but no one ever tested him for it. Alot if people have bad insomnia that's actually an apena.

    Michael himself..He asked the agency he was in contract with for the tour... For a personal physician and he asked for Murry beacause they had known each other before In fact lot of articles say the agency questioned Michael on his choice .. telling him that there are lot of highly qualified practictioners in UK why Murray ? But Michael insisted And he wanted propofol himself "he called it the milk" cz he liked the replinishment he got from it...But Murray being a doctor should have known better that its all wrong

  • @ashleycolston648
    @ashleycolston648Ай бұрын

    Michael Jackson wanted ' YES' people around him all the time, so I think that possibly contributed, to the problem, but it does not excuse Dr. Conrad Murray. Michael wanted to sleep, and he wanted the propofol, but Muray should have found other ways to help him sleep.

    @@jfreeman2047 MJ wanted Dr. Treacy, not Murray. There are some interviews with him, he himself said MJ wanted him, and as soon as MJ was to arrive in London it was Treacy, who would have been his private doc. He's looking and speaking directly to the jury. This is common for people who testify in a lot of cases, which I assume this doctor has. You're taught to look directly at the jury when making a point. That's why he turns to look at them when he says how negligent Murray was, in his opinion, so it makes a lasting impression.

    Hardly. He comes across as being out if his comfort zone in a courtroom... but nonetheless he chose to be there because he was THAT upset about the malpractice. And from what he is saying it is clear why the testifying doctor is legitimately upset. The person on trial had a drug meant only for an operating room in a hospital (surrounded by a team of doctors and nurses) and basically used it like it was a fire-and-forget sleeping pill.
