Like Eric, I lost all of my excess weight with a pure carnivore diet (eggs and dairy included). Also Like Eric, I have no cravings and I'm rarely ever hungry. At times, I have to remind myself to eat. Weirdly, I'm surrounded by overweight friends and family members, and most are on meds for something (diabetes, depression/anxiety, blood pressure, etc). Not one of them has adopted my lifestyle... not one. I really don't get it. I walk a bit, but I don't really "exercise." I'm not on any meds, and I have NO health problems. Their response is that I'm the crazy one... I'm the unhealthy one. In all honesty, it's just bizarre. It's the EASIEST thing I've ever done, and no one believes me.

@@drsethsr YES, at the butchers I was urged to try honey repeatedly despite my assertion of eating a carnivore high fats and no carbs diet. It was exactly what an alcoholic does to gain company and feel normal with their choice. I dislike it as I feel boxed in and so, I feel I have to then push back with my facts which they really don't want to hear, even at a butchers...and their calendar had not one image of meat, just slabs of meat being celebrated. Instead it was all mixed carbs and seed oil dressings. I think carbaholics are NOT interested in facing let alone taking control of their root caused ill health being deeply attached & addicted to what they are eating. Leaving dairy behind matters to me, yet it is hard. Yet my tongue will always show me when I have failed to care for my wellness as #1 when scalloped edges show up all along the tongue.

We don't treat addictions with moderation. Alcoholics can't moderate alcohol, carbohydrate addiction must be approached in the same manor! Most carbohydrate addicted people have no idea how much carbohydrates they take in, much less control it.

Ribeyes and eggs are my main foods. I eat in a four hour window and don’t get hungry between meals or snack. I’m the guy that used to make 2 peanut and jelly sandwiches during a TV commercial and thought it was normal to still be hungry. I was ignorant and ate whatever I wanted back then which was 2 years and a hundred pounds ago. Fat friends ask how I did it and when I tell them they think I’m crazy. They say but I love food well I loved whiskey but I gave it up 19 years ago. Because we say love instead of addicted.

I am fascinated to hear from this Dr Grin. Some of his remarks are so pertinent to me. He said Ozempic won't work. I can testify. I took Ozempic for a year and half. It was disaster. I am carnivore since November 22. I am losing weight slowly, about a kilogram a month. But I am very severely damaged from diabetes which damaged my kidney and liver. I consider it a personal miracle that i am getting better even if it is slow. Dr Grin talked about the social impact and people's disbelief that carnivore is safe. I experienced that. People told me I would get cancer, and other medical catastrophes. Didn't happen. I like what he said about going to someone's party and not eating, and just being there for the company. Exactly what I do. My friends who are really my friends still invite me and let me sit with them while they eat and I just drink some water. Those I thought were my friends but got offended and stopped inviting me, I miss them but I would rather not keep company with people who condemn me. One neighbor, his wife tells me I eat too much. Because I took over salmon and ate two pounds of salmon in front of them. I brought enough for them to eat too, but they ate maybe two ounces.

When I was a kid i remember this vividly when I would eat rice with a half a stick of butter that would end my need to eat as soon as the fat was detected by my brain from my entire digestion system from my tongue stomach . The butter tasted delicious at the beginning to eventually slightly nauseous ,the same process happens to me with FATTY steak. Your body knows ! @@CarniYiayia It has to do with a term called Functionality. Functionality Heat may not affect the amino acid structure of the protein or its nutrients, but it might affect the functionality of the protein. Functionality refers to the behavior of the protein, particularly its solubility. Solubility refers to the ability of a protein to dissolve in a particular solvent. Basically the longer and hotter a meat is cooked the higher the loss of Functionality. In digestion the solvent is essentially water. if the proteins can't dissolve they can't be absorbed. Clemson University and Ohio State University have done research on the subject. I'll keep looking for that FDA source.

Good interview. He touched many important points eloquently. It's important for people to understand the relationship between hormones and satiety. Have spoken to many nutritionist and dietitians because they seem to know the concept but don't get the experience of it. I have said to them I've eaten so much can't have another bite. They say they have never made themselves so stuffed. But they are eating salads with skinless chicken breasts and I've just eaten a meal with fatty meat. Different foods even if whole foods effect your body differently.

These common life shortening conditions (and medications) that you mentioned at the beginning are not "normal", but I suspect the state likes them. The state has no interest in people living to 80 or 90. They would be perfectly happy if people worked their asses off and died at 55 or 60. "Life shortening" is a win for them. Good for their budgets. Good for industry sales. So we have to realize all the "normal" messaging is coming from groups that are deliberately working against our health. We have to ignore the noise and work towards our actual best interests. "Meal time" is a cattle call, not the system a self directed individual needs.

What is interesting to me is the sociological effect of the carnivorian revolution - people's voices exude a calmness and the intention is about sharing with caring . Not sharing to entrap , entice , or profit from . I am really into the idea that large harvested meat distribution created our interpersonal behavior , everything needed to be eaten or stored one way or another , collectively - as well as to get the animal in the first place a collective co operation had to take place . Then , the lack of need for greed , within the sensation of satiation , sort of trains us out of the desire to be greedy . I am going to tell a small story here - I love to shop , I had four kids and had to shop to keep them fed , dressed and shod , and I did it by being a great bargain hunter - Since being a carnivorian - this thought goes into my mind , when I see a beautiful blouse I am contemplating " Maybe I should leave this for someone else ... " I am being honest , in my life of being a RABID shopper , not an over spender , just a really good shopper , I have NEVER had that thought before . I am being honest here , perhaps people can judge me a fool, but I wanted to share that likewise , I thought about planting a few trees down on the public walk , rather than in my own front yard . I actually think that carnivore makes my brain communal minded - As always , and honestly , just listening to the TONE of both of you men , talking , feels good to me , as well as the story of transformation . -- Blessings to you and your families . Jen

I had results but I started eating fruit to the point I was gorging on it and my weight kept going up ,the gout got worst as I was having low grade attacks everyday. I was using fruit to replace all the other bad food I cut out. I am such an addict if I even eat one apple I go off the rails like a cocaine addict. I know now I am an abstainer and can not eat any carbs at all.

11 months in on carnivore. I don't want to go backwards. But for me I would have done it slower. I have stage 4 and I lost too much weight(I think). My skin would have needed more time to adjust. It expanded to hold the fat, now I am looking for a way to not look like a POW. I am building more muscles. Walk several times a day and do resistance. I am able to do more push-ups than I did in years. So that's good. Almost 70. Eating tons of fat and extra calories with butter, coconut oil and cream. Still losing slowly. 179 cm and now 144 lbs

My theory is because the body gets so finely tuned in regards to hunger and efficient in other ways, that if you have "excess" muscle not being used it starts recycling it.

I get the auras, but no pain…after scanning several research articles, I am thinking it might be signaling that my brain got hit by something inflammatory. I am going to try to connect the dots, I think many times it’s the environment I’ve been in, some VOC or mold/dust…but also seasonings in/on food! It’s improved on carnivore, but I am in the the process of eliminating unnecessary “ seasonings” …more and more I enjoy meat and seafood without the need for seasonings. A little salt is all my tastebuds desire!
