Dock Installation.mpg

Pier of d'Nort, as easy as it gets! This pier takes one person to install & remove!
*This video is a high level overview on how the pier system works, after you've figured out water depths and set the leg height. Speaking of the legs, all you need is a half inch wrench to adjust the height of our piers! Check out the website below for more details or call the office for questions or to get a free quote. We can ship all across the US and Canada!

    Owned this dock for 7+ years. works exactly as shown. My primary reason to buy this is it the ONLY one i could find that is truly ONE person install and ONE person removal. NEVER get wet! Adjustable legs use simple CAM lock (1/4 turn) using docks own weight to remain tight. Other docks try to use screws/bolts which can never be tightened enough to work. Every leg is individually adjustable so dock is always level front/back and side-to-side. Same price as the "one-piece" docks with wheels, but those require a hired truck or tractor to install/remove. so i save $300 every year and deep tracks in my yard! I have owned 4 different dock before this over 40 years. This one is the winner, hands down. Carl and his staff are excellent for any and all support.

    Looks good, and being easy to remove is a must on Canadian lakes to prevent dock being carried away by the spring ice break up.

    I have owned one of Carls piers for about 6 years now and I luv it. Yes the bottom of the lake constantly changes but it is very easy to adjust for the small changes that happen year to year. I put it in and take it out by myself, it is as easy as it looks, The pier is also very stable.

    I have had this pier system for four years now - works exactly as shown. If the lake bed changes from one year to the next, the legs can easily be adjusted up or down using a quarter turn of the cam bolt. However, it can be difficult for one person to put in and take out if you are not either tall or young and strong! My wife and I are in our 60's and it takes both of us to put it in and take it out.

    We ask for water depth at the shore and end of pier as well as bottom type- hard, silty, muddy or mucky. We add 30" to the measurement for leg lengths at each depth and footpads for the type of bottom. This gives you the ability to adjust each section to its depth and bottom. If you check customer testimonies on our Facebook page, you will read from them that it really is this easy. Really!!

    Daryl, lake bottoms don't have to be perfect. Our legs adjust easily with any depth up to 13 feet of water (But if that deep, deep water bracing would be needed and probably an extraction boom to help with removal) If you're interested, one of our salespeople could work with you! If in the US call 715-477-3232 or If Canada call 651-757-7082

  • @ayumi-pierofdnort6586

    @ayumi-pierofdnort6586

    @@traviswright136 The extraction boom allows to you slowly lower your pier instead of flipping it over. It also allows you to pull the pier out the same way it's installed - feet first. However the intended way to remove each frame is to pull it towards you, only the section that you are standing on. You can take a look at the removal video for more information!

    Holy insta-dock Batman! Carl if this material holds up well to brackish/salt water you have a HUGE market in Florida where many houses on canals that lead to the Intra-Coastal don't have docks but would like one for pontoon boats. The water being on average about 5' deep. Connect up with Real estate agents who are selling homes and might want an easy option to offer buys. Heck, you could get someone to use Google Earth and see what houses need but don't have docks and snail mail a brochure...

    I have two issues beyond a level bottom. (1) What accomodations are there for a soft bottom(mud, sand, silt,etc.)? (2) I see a big problem with a thunderstorm if the decking is also aluminum.

    +Lisa Deck (LisaWithTheVizsla1) Lisa, the foot pads work on rock, sand, mud. unique 15 degree angle on the pads allows for simple removal at end of season, even if sunk deep into mud. The whole design is an engineers dream. simple and yet works. the deck sections are alum frame with either cedar or trex planks. each section has two simple hold downs that are spring loaded. and fully accessible from the top side for release. Storms- it has weathered some strong storms in 7 years, 2-3 ft waves. but yes, a F3 tornado did lift it apart, but we simply put sections back together (with a few new parts from Carl). NOTE: neighbors one-piece wheeled docks were fully destroyed in that tornado and they had to buy new docks! Winner - Pier d'Nort

    Lisa - we have GOOD news! For bottoms where you know that you would sink in ~8” or more, we would recommend our latest and largest “Giant Pads.” These measure 2ft by 3ft. This proprietary system offers an unparalleled and never before available solution to otherwise unworkable locations. New for 2017. We highly suggest not being on or near an aluminum pier in a thunderstorm, and even though our vinyl decking will absorb some, it's still JUST NOT A GOOD PLACE TO BE! : /

    Debra, no lake bottoms would possibly be level enough for the dock to be constructed as shown in the video. Each section would have to be levelled before going to the next so why make a video that is so inaccurate?
