My son was a child of the 80s and I asked him if he’d had Dunkaroos, because I didn’t really remember anything but the name. He said he did have and remember them, and the shape was a kangaroo shape not a coin shape. I sometimes wonder if things tend to taste different than they tasted in our childhood because our tastebuds matured, or if the taste different because they changed the formulation.

My mom would fill my thermos with Ramen during the winter. By the time lunch came along, the noodles had absorbed all the liquid. It was soooooo good! We rarely got any drinks other than Kool-aid when I was a child. Lip smackers came in little tins that slid open and you had to use your finger. Dunk-a-roos came in 2 flavors when I was younger. Chocolate or vanilla. I didn't get to enjoy most of the treats you featured until I was a teen.
We were definitely a Jell-O family growing up in the late 80s and 90s. My mom made it all the time for dessert. My favorite was Jell-O 123 which sadly hasn't been made in about 30 years now. You mixed it and poured into bowls and as it set, it separated into three layers. I wish they still made that.

For some reason the Skittles flavored Lip Smackers are an entirely different texture than the classics. Way less dry and waxy. They're the best ones in my opinion, but my friends were all obsessed with Dr Pepper. Oh, also, if you're prone to nosebleeds, a little bit of Lip Smacker applied to your pinkie then VERY gently rubbed into a dry nostril is an actual game-changer (with the added bonus of smelling rather pleasant). Sorry if that's a bit gross, but if it helps someone...

Lip smackers were insanely expensive when I was a kid. They weren't chapstick sized in the '70's they were 3"long and 1"wide and were $5 each. I got 1 for my 10th birthday (Dr Pepper flavor) and never got another one. When I was 50 I found out they still made them in 8 packs. I bought the classic set too.
Was born in 1986 and grew up with all of these except for the icee cereal, that's a new one lol
Bonne Bell selling was their kiss of death. The current Lip Smackers are a far cry from where they were and the Bonne Bell line is completely gone. Such a shame

The best Lip Smacker was Dr. Pepper. I’ve been using it since I was a kid but sadly it has been discontinued. I have a few left in my stash and have been using them sparingly. 😂
Dunkaroos were a luxury back in the days. I'm amazed that the brand has retained it's high pricepoint over the years. Thanks for the vid! It really brought back the nostalgic feels.
Such good memories! Especially ICEEs at Kmart! Also, while I haven’t had it in forever, Jell-O is sublime. I suddenly heard the jingle in my head as she talked about how it was jiggling lol. “ watch it jiggle, see it wiggle…” I forget how the rest of it goes.
The sugar plum Lipsmackers was my favorite flavor. Also, I was waiting for you to combine the OG Sunny D with the Sunny D vodka drink, lol.
I preferred cherry coke or dr pepper lip smackers, but I do remember kiwi and strawberry as a 90s kid. Sunny D tastes different in my memory too, but it does still burn my throat in my memories.
When I was little, it was before Icee existed but there were roadside stands or trucks where you could get "Sno-Cones" crushed (shaved) ice served in a paper cone with flavored sugar syrup poured over the ice. My favorite was grape. I can't remember what other flavors they had, but you could top the ice with a mix of syrups. It was so cold against your teeth you ate it using a plastic spoon, letting it melt in your mouth and then drinking the rest of the super sweet syrup at the bottom of the cone. Turned my tongue purple! Haven't had one in 50 years...

My mom put lip smackers in my Christmas stocking every year when I was little. My favorite was a shimmery pink bubblegum one! It tasted so good, I savored that one tube of lip balm for several years
The dunkaroos aren't like they used to be. the cookies were shaped different as you said, and better quality. Hi, Emmy! Man oh man. I love the feeling of nostalgia! I was a kid who aaaalways rode my bike to our local party store for snacks with my friends. My favorites I can remember were Orbitz (a fruity drink with little like, gelatin balls inside?), Clearly Canadian was also something I’d get often to drink! The lip smackers I remember coveting were the soda flavored ones, and Dr Pepper was the one we wanted most.
Thank you for a trip back in time through childhood favourites do you remember the Lolas? Frozen pyramid, grape flavoured icicles delicious!
FYI: Sunny Delight DID change their formula, mainly because of a specific artificial orange flavoring they used, was determined to be a cancer risk, and was banned by the FDA. All products that used it either disappeared or were reformulated using a different artificial orange flavoring. Tang also had to be reformulated, because they used the same flavoring. (this is also why you can't get orange Crystal Light any more, instead of reformulating, they just dropped the flavor entirely.)
