    @@piranhaplantX Maybe in a way, but I think it has more to do with "(...) 'Cause if I'm like this, I suck!" - people usually care very much about their basic social image, how other people generally, broadly see them and there is something really strong, overt and brutally honest in these simple 2 sentences. To rephrase them: "God, I hope this guy is not how people see me, do they?! I would never want to be like you!".

    Great job establishing the tree as a main character in the first shot. That way, the callback at the end works marvelously. Joel is truly a filmmaking genius.

    @@magusperde365 I actually feel the opposite. "Do you like random humor" has a runtime of 3 minutes, which is not something you see with most real movies which are typically around 90 minutes. All the actors in this video were also no names and I think film buffs would appreciate it more if they brought in somebody like Tom Cruise or Billy Crystal who has more of a background in movies. I think this video is a four bagger, but I'm giving it three bags of popcorn to balance out your rating and also a little uncooked chicken you can go bowling with and pretend like it's totally normal.

    The problem with Random humor is that it's actually not that surprising. If the audience thinks they know what's coming, then get something else, they'll be surprised. If the audience doesn't know what to expect, nothing you say will surprise them.

    The correct thing to do is use them appropriately and if they don't get it, say nothing. That way it looks like a normal, or maybe slightly quirky statement. If they're curious enough to ask, fine tell them. If not then it's not awkward.

    The older I get the more I appreciate welcome and need humor. Sometimes random humor may suck but compared to random drama, not so much. This was a lot of fun to watch. It was like seeing what you would get if you combined Jim Carrey and Robin Williams.

    I’m just gonna say. Joel should trademark his “dead-inside” voice. Like so many videos have him with this music-like voice of “uh yeah, I’m speaking with a lot of pauses and questioning everything”. It’s what makes Joel unique.

    @@LEGOC-3PO No and you shouldn't be able to. I love Joel but he's not the only person to play the straight man in a comedy, that's a fairly well-established trope. And deadpan, mumbling, stumbling over words is often a thing with the straight man in comedy. Joel does it brilliantly but it's bizarre to suggest he should trademark it. Capitalism rotted this dude's brain lol.
