00:29 🛂 A passport is an official travel document issued by a government, serving as proof of identity and nationality, facilitating travel access. 01:01 🎨 Passport colors vary globally, with four main variants: blue, red, green, and black, each carrying symbolic significance. 02:10 🌍 Passport colors offer insights into history, politics, diplomacy, cultural identity, and more. 02:13 🔵 Blue passports, like the United States', symbolize freedom, loyalty, and stability, potentially linked to shared history and the ocean connecting the Americas. 02:52 🔴 Red passports, prevalent in the European Union, signify political and diplomatic relations, with burgundy used to indicate EU membership. 04:35 🟢 Green passports, common in Islamic countries and some West African nations, represent cultural and religious ties, with green being significant in Islam. 05:34 ⬛ Black passports, rare and mostly used by United States diplomats and countries like Zambia, are associated with power, strength, and patriotism, with practical benefits like hiding dirt. 06:02 🔄 Passport colors may change over time due to governmental shifts, rebranding, or diplomatic relationships, highlighting a nation's uniqueness and evolving identity.

Its likely there are more of them, those 2 are just from the most world famous monarchies( i doubt empress- consort doesnt need passport, in sure queen camilla has one)- based on the reasoning behind their lack of passport i suppose many more if not most monarchs doesnt need them, cos passports of their country are usually issued in their name just like they do in UK as thus they themselves dont have one just like king Charles doesnt.

Yep, wasn’t even an EU rule that said they had to be a particular colour and they could have had the blue passports anyway, but it was sold to the voters as “look at how these foreigners have the power to force you to have a red passport” pretty much, so the colour of passports somehow escalated into an absolute farce as every Daily Express reader started foaming at the mouth simultaneously at the mere mention. Personally, the red one looked nicer, and I just had to renew it so that’s minorly annoying. I might get a cover for it.

the UK before the EU passports were black after the joined the EU it was a shade of burgundy when they left the EU their passports are now blue. the color of the passport is on the economic zones in which countries fall into. however passports used for political of diplomatic travel are often a different color for eg. UN passports and those issued by governments to diplomats.

Canada currently has five types of passports, each with a different colour cover. A regular passport with a blue cover good for either five or ten years A temporary passport with a white cover good for between six months and one year An emergency travel document with a cover that is grey and light blue valid for one time use only. A special passport with a green cover issued to people on official government business such as Members of Parliament, provincial cabinet members, public servants, citizens nominated as official non-diplomatic delegates and Canadian Forces members who are stationed outside of Canada. A diplomatic passport with a maroon cover. But prior to 1947, Canada only had two passport colours indicating either someone born as a British subject (blue) or someone naturalized as a British subject (red). Canadian citizenship as separate from British nationality did not actually exist until 1 Jan 1947 and Canadians were classed as British subjects until that date.
