Hoping to see more helpful info on this here. For everyone complaining about how he phrased that, he was clearly saying you aren’t dying and it isn’t something life ending. I didn’t take it as him downplaying anyone’s pain. 🙄 😂

My hand feels like its going to explode and is numb and on fire all at the same time. Every time I lay down for sleep I wake up with a hand that feels as if it's in a meat grinder and it's also filling with air like a balloon to max air intake. But no big deal guys. Just making life miserable and work unbearable...but ya know... someone gota pay rent and feed kids....

@@Zimzamzoom95 well TOS doesn't feel anything like having a stroke so that was a really dumb comment on his part

Yes! We can treat it as an outpatient issue. The original example was someone thinking they had a stroke lol We try to address issues like TOS without scaring people into thinking it is the end of the world.

Did you just say thoracic outlet syndrome is not that big of a deal😅😅😅 true thoracic outlet syndrome Which is the most under diagnosed over diagnosed syndrome, usually require surgery. I'm bilateral I wouldn't wish this condition on anyone it's debilitating

For most, it is not that big of a deal at all! Of course there are ranges of pain, but if you catch it early (as this example shows - post bench pressing) it is not a big deal. For others it can be, of course, That is why we always recommend taking care of the issue earlier, rather than later.

“not that big of a deal” yeah sure, having no pulse in my brachial artery when i lift my arms and suffering progressively worse nerve damage and loss of functionality from it is fine. needing to someday have my first rib removed and pec minor tendon surgically severed is no biggie

This comment is a gold star example of why things should be treated early to avoid chronic issues. What you are referring to is much further down the road for a gym-active adult who has JSUT developed numbness or tingling in the hands. You're example is a pure scare tactic, but that gets PT clinics more customers I guess. I was trying to instill hope and avoid those exact fear mongering tactics others use :)

The symptoms I’m describing are what I have experienced since I was 16 years old, it was not “down the line” for me, it was not due to years of repetitive damaging activity or anything like that. It started when I was a teenager. I’m 24 and have not found relief from physical therapy, hence potentially needing surgery. This is just the reality for some of us. It’s misleading to minimize the impact this condition has on peoples lives.

@@ajurman it’s not misleading because I’m offering solutions to the situation that I described which is an acute onset. It’s a very short video, so when I make a nice long one I can review all different chronicities of the condition and how to go about addressing each one.

Well I am referring to the example given here where your hands feel numb or tingly following a set of bench press. It infers that this is the first instance of this occurring as the fake patient googled it scared sh!tless after. We always recommend taking care of issues before they become larger, chromic problems so hopefully people catch it early!

It doesn't have to be! The earlier you take care of these acute issues the less likely they become chronic. That goes double for TOS.
