I have a Milwaukee 4 and 7" framing square set. The 4 was factory square. I squared the 7" using multiple layers of thin metallic tape as a shim on 1/2 of the long side of the lading (that touches your workpiece), using a solid machinist square as reference for what is "square". I also squared up a 12" aluminum Empire framing square this way. Or you could SAND the other half of the landing to accomplish a more permanent fix instead of using shim.

I’ve had the DFM for years. Love it. Made in the USA by a small company, too. Very high quality like Woodpeckers, but about 25% - 30% cheaper. 👍

I got the DFM a couple weeks ago - scratch and dent $20. Not a mark on it. Nifty little square.

I bought a couple of sets of the Milwaukee triangles at Christmas when they were on sale. Like tape measures, I keep them laying around the shop for easy access. When I go for accurate lines, I get one of my engineer squares, combination squares or Incra t-squares. - Chris

For the price, that's definitely a great use of the Milwaukee ones!

I have a knock off of the Delve that I bought on Amazon that has exactly the same features. It is 1 third the price and is a fantastic tool. I also have the Milwaukee, which has also served me well.

I also bought the Milwaukee small and large squares at xmas and all the edges of both are so sharp they almost feel dangerous to pick up. I finally sanded the edges but still find them unpleasant to work with. Next.

Nice video! After all of those comparisons, I wonder if you could make the perfect carpetener square?

Ben using the Milwaukee, I have a small and the larger one. For rough construction they are great and durable. I have been looking at getting something for more finer woodworking. Great video, I think Im leaning on the DFM.

Right on. That's a great choice!

So far I've not bought a iGauging tool that's not satisfied me, their cast iron combination square set is super high quality and you don't need to buy seconds to get a good price.

I bought the iGaging 4” aluminum from Amazon. Unfortunately it came a little bent right out of the box and had to send it back. I didn’t like how the square and base are not made from one piece of aluminum, and there was a small gap where they are joined. I squared it next to my WP 1281 and it was off square a tiny bit (maybe from being slightly bend). I also felt it was a bit big to fit in my apron and the point is pretty sharp. I ended up getting the DFM, maybe it’s better suited to live in my apron. Thanks for the video, I haven’t seen anyone else reviewing all these squares.

You're welcome! I do wonder what quality control will be like from these cheaper options.

A year or so ago I took a dead on square with me to Lowe's and went around and checked their squares. A LOT of them were off. Not a lot, but a little. enough to make a difference. I even tried a pile of their 'drywall' squares you see people use to mark larger items for square. yeah . . , ahhhhh, DON'T do that. they are not square and even have a little play in their armes.

Where are your conclusions and or reasons for preferring the DFM and not rating the Milwaukee as accurate? From what you've covered in this video the differences would appear to be simply aesthetic rather than anything significant, hardly a showdown. Do you get what you pay for you ask, after watching this I still don't know, how much were they? Do you think the Woodpecker premium is worth paying, why, why not?

I’m not a fan of any tool design that has you poking your pencil through a hole and then sliding the tool across your workpiece. There are so many better tool options that allow you to slide your pencil across a wide edge where your pencil and lead won’t snap. These small squares are best for drawing 90 and 45 degree lines and verifying that what you are assembling is square.

I get where you're coming from but I personally use that feature all the time. I use the mechanical pencils with the heavier lead and have very little lead snapping issues.

If you like quality get woodpeckers if you dont care get Chinese junk.
