I totally agree. My late husband and I worked together to delegate chores. He took out the garbage, mowed the lawn, worked on the cars, and had the career. I cooked, washed dishes, and took care of the childen. It worked well for us, and it sounds like it works well for you two as well. 😊❤

@@Aaliyah_Matyevna yes brother. Islam didn't discouraged women from working outside. Nor it discouraged man helping a woman in household work. Our beloved prophet (s.a.w) used to help his wife at home. People need to realize that prophet Muhammad saw did all the housework despite having a busy he still did it he said “The best of you are ones that are best to their wives” but if the woman chooses not to work and takes care of the household then her husband should help her as much as he can cause being a stay at home wife or husband is is not a easy job to do and we wouldn’t take it for granted instead we should appreciate them and not let them do all The burden they deserve a break and to relax too but yeah teamwork is the key

There is more work involved in the house then going to a 9-5 job. Women don't get enough credit for running their homes. The pandemic may have helped some men realize what their wives go through daily. If you were to hire someone to do the wive's duties of home upkeep and child rearing, you would have to pay her over $250,000 United States dollar a year. So appreciate your mom, sisters, wives that manage the home.

  • @aleatar

It is a fact that a woman can keep all her earnings to herself, and only if she wants to, she can give it to the husband, but she's not obligated. And in general, a woman can have any noble job, AS LONG as she still has the time to take care of her family. Even if she's not strongly obligated to cook and clean, so is not the husband, he doesn't have to either, but the chores have to be done nonetheless, to keep the house clean and stomachs full. Spouses are supposed to love each other, therefore it shouldn't be a problem for each of them to commit to each other's happiness, otherwise, why are you even married? I'm a woman, and I personally wouldn't understand a woman described in your situation - that hardly seems fair. What about the children? Because in this case both husband and wife ARE obligated to meet all their needs. And let's be honest, by nature children need their mother's attention a lil bit more than their father's (at the very least, from birth and until they're a couple of years old). Anyhow, as mentioned, all of this has to be discussed before marriage, not after, so, if necessary, you could call the whole marriage off beforehand, if you don't agree with the conditions.

@@bintbint1316 that's the thing, it should NOT matter how someone else does something. People are flawed, they can do things the right way, or they can practice their own thing regardless of what their Holy scripture teaches them. E.g., every country has legislation, and even tho, every single one forbids people to rob and kill, all of the countries still have robbers and murderers. So you must not look at how people follow the law, but you look at the law itself. I have the law - the Quran, and the commentaries to the law - Sunnah. And I follow it. I don't care how others interpret the Quran and Sunnah (without legitimate proof to support their opinions or claims), nor can I control it anyway, people have their free will to perceive things however they like. I can only control who can be around ME, like my potential spouse, for example.

But some scholars disagree..they talk about Fatima (R) asma binte abu bakr and so on..they used to do household works..so it's compulsory but I think it doesn't mean women have an obligation because even the prophet used to do household works. That doesn't make it obligatory for the men..so why will it be obligatory for the women ? Quran and Hadith clearly says about the obligations..the men are responsible for providing food, not raw materials and asking his wife to cook.. I think it's Sunnah..but not obligatory

No-no, don't think that it's a wrong choice, sister, on the contrary, it's the most right choice you can ever make. Allah says in the Quran (and it's mentioned in numerous hadiths) that you have to behave the best towards your parents, and, according to Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, three times more - towards your mother, AS LONG AS it doesn't go against Allah's rules. And hijab and salah are one of them. Allah is above all, since He created everything, and He created you AND your mother, so in this case, you actually have to disobey your mother, BUT do it in the kindest way possible, try to explain to her how important this is. Tell her about how the Quran obligates us to be the best towards our parents, and how Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said to all of us that paradise lies beneath our mother's feet, so tell her that if you disobey Allah and His Prophet, that means that you also cannot be kind towards your own mother. If she still won't listen, then pray in secret. Verily, Allah forgives everyone who's being forced to do or not to do anything.

Asselamu aleykum sister. I was in the same conditions with you for 1.5 years or more (plus my dad is also against these things) and for all this time I prayed in my room and wear my hijab secretly by putting it in my bag and wearing it after I went to street (finding a place to make up my hijab) and prayed for my parents hidayah and for fulfilling my obligations. Alhamdulillah, in a few months I will be moving out from my parents' house (for my job) and I will be independent and not have to keep secrets anymore. Plus my mother accepted that I want to wear this way now. Believe me, you made a great decision by reverting and Allah hears our duas and helps us. Sometimes I was even thinking "god, now I will not be able to pray or wear hijab because of this bad luck" etc etc but still hoping and trusting Allah and doing my best and in those times, suddenly some things came out from nowhere and opened a way for me to be able to pray or wear hijab in that condition. They were like miracles for me and I felt so obvious that Allah is with me and sending me those helps. Just firmly believe in him and do your best and rest will follow inshaAllah. Allah is the best of the planners and he rewards for all the burdens we had to go through. I will pray for you and stay safe! 🙋🏻‍♀️🌺💞

The majority of the scholars are went that she is not obligated to do that, and some scholars are of the view that it is obligatory. The majority of the Maalikis, Abu Thawr, Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah and Abu Ishaq al-Jawzjani are of the view that the woman must serve her husband in the inner work that is customarily done by the wife doing the same; For the story of Ali and Fatima, may God be pleased with her, as the Prophet, [may God’s prayers and peace be upon him,] decreed that his daughter Fatimah be required to serve the house, and Ali on the work outside the house, and for a hadith: That she be moved from a red mountain to a black mountain, and from a black mountain to a red mountain, her rail would have been [her right] to do so.” Al-Juzjani said: This is his obedience to that which has no benefit, so how about his livelihood? 💜💙🖤💚💛

Actually most professional chefs are men so that arguement that women are inherently better at cooking is just wrong. Not saying men are better because there are more male pro chefs tho, that probably has more to do with the fact that women aren't employed as chefs at big restaurents as much as men. But the point is that men can definitely be great cooks. It's just that women are usually expected to learn cooking whereas guys don't really try to learn that.

Ninja mommy if you have the courage, Ask your husband about the verse in Quran that says that a wife should obey her husband and the husband has the right to beat her to submission if she dont obey and why isn't this the other way, cause what if the husband doesn't obey, can the wife beat him to submission😂. Why did allah gave permission to beat the wife to the husband but not the other way around as well. "Lets start talking about islam, not random knowledge of every common people"

Do you think a woman can beat a man anyway? And did you read the hadith that basically says "how can you sleep in the same bed after hitting your wife" (not word to word but same meaning)? Or did you search about in which way or after which disobedient acts it is permissable to hit? Do you know the word 'zulm' which Allah forbids and will punish the subject who does that? It is not sadistic as you think but yet you bring it out. I want to believe that you are tricked to this thoughts by bad intention or not knowledgeable people.

@@den.kahraman look in the Quran it clearly says that allah is perfectly clear with his revelations. So if you look at the verse that says a man can beat his wife to submission if she disobeys him. (This is as clear as it gets) Then people like you come and say "well did you read the hadiths that were written by several several scholars with differing idea of islam centuries after Muhammad died" If allah is perfectly clear with his revelations, why do you people go around adding new meanings to a straight forward verse. Moreover, why do you people give more importance to endless hadiths written almost a century after Muhammad died. If you agree that allah was perfectly clear with his revelations then dont add new meanings to a straight forward Quran verse. And If you dont agree with allahs clear revelations then i dont think you are a Muslim. But if you are gonna have double standards such as agreeing with allahs clarity in messages and yet also agrees with adding new meanings to the pre existing verses. Then its a miracle. The miracle of reinterpretation and hypocrisy.

Firstly, I'd like people to understand that the Arabic language is a language of many words; for example I know 4 different words in Arabic that translate to the word 'Horse' and the words pretty, cute, nice, gorgeous may all translate to the word 'Beautiful' in one of the languages. The word ضرب in general translates to 'beating', because there is no better one-word translation for it, but originally this word was used to mean 'tapping her in a strong manner' (now you see why the word beating was used instead) and this indicates that the husband should try to make his wife aware of her actions as the verse says “Men shall carefully protect and maintain women because God has granted each (party) some superior characteristics over the other (party), and because they (men) spend out of their possessions (to maintain women). Thus righteous women are obedient (to God) and guard themselves in the absence of witnesses in return for God’s protection. If they further disobey, give them advice/say kind words to them, and if they further disobey leave them alone in the bed, and let them dwell (there alone), (if they further refuse to obey أضربوهن ('tap her in a light manner'). Then if they willingly obey you, do not seek another way against them. God is Exalted, Great.” (an-Nisa 4:34)” What you were asking was in regard to 'women who DON'T guard themselves in the absence of witnesses in return for God's protection.' At the time of the prophet his companions used to use a something like a tooth pick to draw the wife's attention as a form of tapping. And I will say this again in case you might not have understood me the word ضرب has different meanings this was how it was mostly used nowadays we use it more often to mean beating. "The best among you is the one who is the best towards his wife" Said the Prophet (Pbuh) When muslims pray do 'Salah' we always say the verses in Arabic as the meaning of the verse is more accurate if said in the Arabic language than if it's translated. And no one in the marital relationship has the right beat the other. Lastly the hadiths (quotes quoting the prophet) were memorized by the prophet's companions long ago but scholars have been able to track and trace most of them and today they know the people who said these quotes and whom they said them to, therefore according to the reliability of these Hadiths scholars make decisions. Anyways Allah knows best
