No. We don’t need that lot. Most of the time, practically they are not even given any roles by the Ministers. Those are useless positions.

With all due respect to John. Deputy Ministers seem like 24x7 Personal Assistants to CEOs, doing all the work of the Ministers. 1 wrong step or complaint by Minister, can get DM fired by President. 43 DMs positions were for financial & cadre protection. Our tax/vat monies obviously not important for all that. They'll be getting extra billions of 15% Vat also now from Temu clothing. Supposedly to protect local business, give me a break! It was the fastest SARS Gov change I've ever seen. And we're still waiting years for Gupta, Phala Phala & corruption cases to be resolved.

The DG in each department must also be very well organised and qualified, for they are supposed to do the day to day activities.

A waste of money just another way for the ANC to keep their Cadre Deployees in Jobs😢 all we needed was a Cabinet Ministers with one deputy i really don't see the need for two or three deputies in some portfolios this is just a way for the ANC to continue with Cadre deployment this money could be put to better use providing for the needs of the hard working tax paying citizens of this country to improve their lives with infrastructure development ie roads water electricity and tax cut to beable to provode for the needs of their families. Time to put an end to the fat cat gravy train and the ridiculous salaries and perks that government officials reap from the hard working tax paying citizens of this country

No, we don't need so many Ministers. Ramaphosa increased the cabinet to appoint his ANC comrades. We all know the ANC use govt to provide employment for comrades. It's got to keep lots of people happy thru deployment

DA, please consider withdrawing some of your deputy ministers provided that the ANC agrees to reduce the total size accordingly. If we needed the size, and it's not about jobs-for-pals, why did the President wait for the GNU and not increase the deputy ministers count long ago ?
