VERY well said video. Thank you so much for being real and sharing all this great info. We are so much better off because this year we had a huge garden put it all in the freezer. We harvested 2 pigs, 2 lambs for the 1st time and they are in our freezer. We butchered meat birds. Our freezers are FULL until next Summer and THAT is an amazing feeling. First time in our lives we were able to do this on only 2 acres. We are proud. I'm SO proud of what you and Kelley are doing. We are doing snow ball debt too. 2 credit cards and mortgage we have. Those damn credit cards. .ugh! But, we have this. Homesteading life is the BEST!! We dont live like most people around us. Some say we have a sheltered life...this farm life is what we want. I have a cleaning business and yes I know about the good and bad months. I feel ya on that. God has truly blessed my family and yours. Look around and see the freedom we have. Our kids have the best life playing in the country everyday. Man I could go on and on. Guys I'm darn proud of what your doing and how your sharing this on utube. Blessed beyond words. ❤ Greetings from Wisconsin. Karen

here's an idea, build a couple of rental units right there on that property. That way, you can keep an eye on them. One of the coolest houses I ever lived in was a converted barn. The upstairs was just one room, a living room and kitchen together. The office, bedroom and laundry room was downstairs, separated from all by a hallway. It worked, tho I wish there was a second bathroom upstairs, a half bath anyway. Of course, I was younger then, these days the idea of stairs... well that's a no go.

This is how I’ve done my life nearly all of my life. My children and I went from absolutely separation because of a divorce living apart and then I got us all back into a place to live together and one step at a time working 1 to 2 jobs we started out and believe me we didn’t even have any spices we had no sugar we had no salt we had no pepper nothing we had some bags of clothes and a new apartment in San Jose. Step-by-step all planned out paycheck to paycheck... I financially rebuild our lives. No credit cards, no debt. when my kids moved away from home10 years later they had to have a small U-Haul trucks to take the things out of their rooms as they moved To college. I had no debt. If I needed something and I didn’t have the money I would get another job until I had the money to pay for whatever it was I needed. And then I started my own business. With prayer and gratitude and amazing miracles. And when I asked the Lord if I should borrow money from my business, his answer came back to me and said never borrow money to start your business. Thankfully 10 years prior to that I had But for shares of stock when I work for Hewlett-Packard. that the entire story of its own. But I started my business. It says in the Bible that God does not want to be enslaved to death nor does he want anyone to do that to somebody else so borrowing in lending is against the principles of the Scriptures. It’s total slavery when you’re in debt. Better to be without a few things then to have that stress and worry and pressure.

Misorganic1, I was afraid of being in debt and prayed to the Lord that I would only pay cash for a house. God led me to do a business and it was successful and I bought my house cash. I rent a house for 10 years and lease out all the bedrooms and lived in 1 for free. It was inconvenient but I learned to interact with many people and their quirk!!

I totally understand how it can be hard to make the switch to homestead life quick, and at the same time to be using the money you got out of the house as effectively as possible before it is soaked up by debt and monthly necessities. Very good advice on handling your finances. One thing I would recommend is to work on building a reserve account. You can then use it to pay down your mortgage or making additional improvements to your homestead. Just take time and consider options and make choices that benefit you the most for future. The restricting unregulated purchases (eating out, getting the I wants over the we needs) make those dreams into reality.

I stopped and started resting and enjoyed my life without going out, spending money. Makes life more enjoyable when you can live the life others wish they could. I'm better off living in the country, No debt - just paying utility bills, property taxes, growing my own food, Now growing fruit trees and adding other permanent food crops, okinawan spinach, collard green trees, bananas, apples, lemons, mandarian oranges, tangerine, figs, pink lemonade blueberrys, pineapples, pears, pomagrante, pecan, etc - shop in my own backyard!

Please read. I just subscribed because what you are saying doesn’t seem sugar coated. Due to company mergers and down sizing I am now trying to live on under 1/2 of what I used to make. If only I would not been in the mindset that I can afford this now, just buy it it’s easier. Funny thing is, I grew up dirt poor and ended up in the foster system at 15. Alcoholic parents. Now that I’m older I had to forgive them. That took many years. I now look at it all as a learning experience. The one thing my mother always did was garden. The bigger the better 😊. Us kids would weed all day and hated it. When I was forced to eat store bought food...yuck. One foster home saved dinner for me, I was being moved to another home. I remember to this day that evening. New Foster mom said we saved you some food because we were not sure if you ate today. It was really very thoughtful. She pulled a cookie sheet out of the oven and I had no idea what it was. When I looked at the food and I asked her what it was she looked at me like I had two heads lol. It was fish sticks and tator tots. Didn’t look like fish to me. I didn’t know what a tator tot was. I told her I wasn’t hungry even though I was. I ended up with the love of gardening. I no longer hated pulling weeds. I love growing food and canning or freezing. And snapping beans isn’t so bad after all. Bread is supposed to come from your own oven. Noodles should be rolled with a rolling pin. Pancakes should never come out of a box. Maple syrup comes from tapping maple trees. I guess God taught me something to appreciate things I learned from my parents.

We took our retirement and paid our shed off. That put us way ahead of our game and can now finally finish our shed to home. I am a brain tumor survivor and I believe that prayer saved me. My vision to live small and convert a shed let me to be able to afford my brain surgery. So power of pray is so strong. I would also like to look into Doterra as a business

My sweet heart and I are looking into buying land but wasn't sure what to do for a home. We are going to buy a pull behind travel trailer to get us out of the high rent so we can save more money. And then when we save enough we will be buying land. everyone has been telling us pay cash for the land. Pfff that would take us forever to save that much. So it kind of crushed our dreams. But now that we know it can be done with a mortgage. I think we will save for a big down payment instead of waiting 10 years to save the money for the land. Thank you.

I am very interested in your book. What would it take to get it on Amazon (I download these kinds of books to my kindle to carry without my phone)? You could easily even charge a couple dollars more if needed, but it would gain a lot of exposure. A little more than a year ago, I bought a house in Central Florida, I don't hate my job, I have a large family (11 of us total, 3 adults and 8 kids), the other adults both work, we are slowly correcting our debts/credit. My goal is to get a couple acres to start building up slowly. I would love a chance to talk more and learn more from you. I have spent 2 days streaming your videos on my TV and we have all been watching! Thank you for everything you are doing!

I've heard a lot obout Dave Ramsey. I wish I could get my significant other on board but he has a "spend it while you got it, you can't take it with you when you die, I work hard I should be able to spend my money on what I want" kind if guy. And I can't really argue because it's his money- I only work outside the home a few hours a day, two days a week and as a taxi (for his son back and forth to school 30 mins away), babysitter for his nephew and homemaker the rest of the time. So, I don't bring in very much money at all. I've tried working full time but it never works because I am always needed around here. But again, I won't give up, I have faith and I believe the Lord is calling me to this kind of lifestyle. God bless!

I have a mobile home and a storage building converted to a tiny house and I'm debt free. The best feeling in the world! I'm in the country on a little over a acre of land with a mobile home i helped pay off of my mom's mobile home and i had it renovated .. I have 3 vehicles all paid for So Living our best lives debt free! Now renovating my home and landscaping, which is easier that we don't have house payments or any debt. I have storage for food and deep freezers- had to teach my mom's a different mindset, how to shop for food and she just had a deep freezer delivered, which makes it easier for her at 84yrs old.Land is paid for!

Just for thought, I bought a house in an auction for $40k 3 + 1 bath and a huge garage which was built by the previous owner( he was a carpenter). I convert the main house to 3+ 2 bth and the garage 2bedroom +2 bath. Lease the the garage and the rent covers the mortgage. You have to buy the house cash in the auction and refinance it. RENT FREE!!!

Hey Jo! It's kelly :) All in all, I'm a big fan. I think life is hard wherever you live and in any type of job. But what I love about this is that we get to choose our hard. We get to decide what we put our efforts toward. The way we spend our time is pretty much up to us. So this season of life full of tree climbing kids and excited wondersome attitudes makes this lifestyle completely worth it. I hope that answers your question.
