Do Tough Stuff I Season Four, Episode 3

Ойын-сауық

Do hard things. “But I don’t want to!” Can you relate to that tension?!
We live in a culture that loves instant. With a tap, touch, or swipe we can get anything in a moment. But showing up, being consistent, and enduring through tough moments holds great power and builds resilience + perseverance.
If you struggle with showing up for your every day life - wherever that may be - this conversation is for you. Because the fact that you showed up today is resilient. It means you can do tough stuff. You are persevering.
Want to know what the 3 P’s of perseverance are and how you can apply them to your life?
Listen in!
In this episode, you will hear Candace and Bianca discuss:
Having a healthy perspective while still maintaining hope
Learning to pivot and find ways through tough stuff
Finding purpose in the everyday mundane moments
What to do when the going gets tough? Get our free guide, “What To Do In The Waiting.”

Wow! I grew up in church and have heard and read the story of Noah, but didn't realize it took him over a hundred years to build the ark! That must have taken HUGE, SOLID Faith to press through and keep building til the flood came.

After listening to this episode, I think Val should be next season’s co-host! 😀 Just an idea, I love when you talk about him, your relationship, growth, etc… I’ve read your books (CCB), devotional, and have bought lots of CCB merch from all over. From reading as well, it seems Val would have a lot of great wisdom to share along with everything you’ve said that he brings good to your life, encouraging you and your family in Christ. However, if he doesn’t like the camera anymore being out of it from not playing hockey anymore I understand as well. Maybe your adult children could come in with him for an episode together… a family bonus episode or something. P.S. Your brother Kirk, his wife Chelsea, your sisters, or Mom could also be great co-hosts as well! I saw the episode Kirk hosted you and your sisters on TBN it was so good… definitely left me wanting to hear more from “The Cameron’s”. Thank you Candace! You inspire me in so many ways!! 💛🤗

I am loving this podcast btw!❤ Before Candace said her brother Kirk. I said it aloud because I remember watching them and their shows when I was a kid and I know Kirk took a HUGE stand for God back when it wasnt "popular" to do. He went away from hollywood and went after the things of God and myself being raised in a Christian household I always thought of him as brave and sincere. Now more people than ever are turning to Jesus and accepting Him even in hollywood. I grew up watching both Kirk and Cameron. I am so proud of both and happy to see God still using them as an example and to inspire others and draw others to Him.❤

Thank you two for this podcast and choosing to be transparent with your own life stories and struggles. I appreciate you. Keep moving forward. I am encouraged that all the ongoing physical suffering I experience is not in vain. And my story hasn't ceased. To pickup the gauntlet, so to speak, and let go of my disappointment at what God has allowed. I press forward.

I am loving this season! I can relate to your listener question and love your answers (which I do all of). I will take one verse for my affirmation for the day and focus my day on this, other times start a verse and read the whole chapter because it is so good! No two days are the same, because I let spirit guide me to what i need to hear... My bible is very colorful (pictures, different highlighters, post is notes). The bible has so many stories of love, perseverance, change etc.

Love the positivity ☺️ wish I could direct message people instead of comment publicly, however, I hope this can help anyone: from the first season, Candace hosted with Tara-Leigh Cobble, and TLC mentioned that she has the Bible recap KZread podcast of a Bible reading reading plan OF ONE YEAR, maybe that would help since it's shorter increments and it feels kind of like when you take a college course online, you have to be extremely disciplined and it's nice to check off the box haha so maybe that would help focus? Although I do not have ADHD, I find that my mind will wander or I think about myself or the next thing I need to do, so then I'll get to a point where I take a deep breath with my eyes closed so that I don't look at something and become distracted all over again- and say "God I'm right here. I'm listening. Please speak to me through these passages and guide me to anyone who can help me and give me discernment to avoid false doctrine and to be closer to you through your word" Don't give up whatever you do, that's what the enemy wants. Keep finding time and moments to read His word, and try to find God every time you read. Best of luck!!

You could listen to the Bible on Bible Gateway if you struggle to try to read it - I do that. I might try to read it, & things get in the way like yawning on & on which makes my eyes water & might drip on the pages which I don't wanna do... I try to keep the Bible in mint condition as possible. Another thing: I used to have ADHD but I grew out of the H part starting in Middle School - I was like a looney tune with the H part 🙂. I was a cartoonish kid - which I still have that quality but not the H.

Please do not use the Passion 'translation'. Other translations that are easy to read: ESV, NLT, NIV. A good tip is, as Tara-Lee says, look for God's character when you read the Bible. We don't always have to find something to 'take' for ourselves, but we can always learn about God's character from beginning to end. And that grows our love and awe for Him.
