Thank you for pointing out that it could be the chemicals that leaked out of the batteries, I didn't think that this was the issue for mine but when I checked, it surely was.

I watched many videos before clicking on this video. No one before said about scraping the connectors. I looked very closely at my connectors & they looked clean, like absolutely nothing was on it! But after scraping it with a small flathead screwdriver, then wiping it with a paper towel... viola! It worked. Thank you.

Thanks for the help, dirty contact points on the remote :) a good way to check if the remote is working is record a video on your phone, check the top of the remote to see if the infrared is working when you press a button

Yep....I scraped the both areas within the battery area with a metal object and it worked afterwards

Wow, common sense fix here. The coil on my battery connection had some corrosion. I cleaned it off using a flat head and it works now! Don’t look past it. And thank you for the tip!

@@kaliseh.1009 just scrape the flat connector with whatever is recommended. It’s been a while since I had to do it so I can’t remember what I used. But it was pretty obvious some buildup came off

I use my remote speaker option for music on my tv all the time all day . The red light kept coming on when I tried to use the speak button , then it would say pair device - duuuh it already is - stupid thing lol I used ur instructions and what worked for mine was holding the home button for 10 sec .I have music again 👍Thanks sooo much you are a life saver😜🥰

April 23rd, 2023. I spent over a hour trying to figure why my remote wasn’t working. I knew nothing was wrong with my connections. It was until you mentioned the remote being dropped. My remote caddy fell off the wall and I never checked it because it is still practically new I barely watched my fire stick. So here it is a year later and your video is still useful. An hour ago I selected to watch Die Hard With a Vengeance on Amazon Prime using Fire Stick 4K 3rd gen. The movie came on and a minute later, the picture turned a 60 inch screen into millions of tiny pixels and I thought my TV just died! The Fire Stick remote stopped working at the same time of pixilation. Odd that the Fire Stick remote's volume and power functions worked but nothing else!?? Put fresh batteries in and I followed your instructions and everything was good again right up until I selected to watch the Die Hard movie again with same pixilation and remote problem, so I repeated your procedure and we're good again! I didn't try a third viewing of the Die Hard movie, I don't wanna be stressed out again! I've been using the Fire Stick TV for 5 weeks without any problems until Die hard!

Hope this helps .. So I've been able to solve problems in the past via resetting, etc. This time, no joy. What I found Worked was to download the remote app just to use the 3 line = BUTTON to delete connected remote through systems connected remotes, then add it as a new remote. Also, if you have a spare fire remote, that should pair too using this process.

Thanks so much! My problem was some battery residue on the connectors. At first look there didn't seem to be much. There was just enough on them to make the remote not work. I wouldn't have thought to take a closer look had you not suggested it.
