@DFMTV my issue arose from battery residue build up on the remote terminals in battery compartment. I wiped them off as suggested from another youtuber and just like that it works perfectly again. Just a suggestion for those who like me exhausted every ave in trying to fix dead remote.

Just to add. One step I haven’t seen on any videos… replace the fire stick android chord. My remote was down for several months after trying everything I could find on these videos several times. I was tired of using my phone so I called Amazon help desk.

One of my firesticks is the 4k max. I was wondering if you ever came across it's going rapidly through the options on it's and not having any control over it? Also, when I engage my bluetooth sound system it causes everything to fast forward. Thanks.

No! that's not normal. sounds like a software issue. i recommend a factory reset and if the problem continues, you have a defective firestick.

sorry it took me a while to get back to you. sounds like a connection issue. if you checked that and still having the issue then a factory reset should fix the problem. good luck

We lost our remote so I ordered one on eBay, I tried all the 3 options and it didn’t work, so now I’m at your advanced video and I downloaded the app to my phone and I was able to go to settings and remote however the remote still did not connect, I went to other Bluetooth devices and was able to install my BT speaker. The eBay remote is still not working and I’m reluctant to do a factory reset. I really think it’s this eBay remote. I may go buy one from targets and see. I’m thinking if the speaker connected and everything was fine before it appears this eBay remote my be garbage. I do have fresh batteries in it, and holding down the home button activated the blinking light

worked great to verify firestick was not the problem but would not make contact with remote

Managed to connect eventually with Amazon remote, bought new remote £16 all sorted, for some reason tv couldn’t find my old remote, better than £60 just too look at it

Yes! go to settings, My fire tv, About, and click on where it says the name of your firestick (Exp: Fire TV Stick 4k Max ect.) 7 times, then press the back button and developer options will be available. thanks

you must be using a firestick with the Fire OS 6 software. which firestick do you have?

Hi Dan the Firestick man. The problem I'm having is black screen. I made the mistake of setting the sleep for 15 minutes plus the screensaver last night. This morning I've got black screen. The firestick won't wake so, can't turn tv off or watch Direct streaming or use my playstation. It's dead and I've try everything even called Amazon. Called Best Buy Geek Squad no luck. Can you give me any suggestions. I tried your suggestion of downloading Fire tv but I don't get the code. I stuck.

Clean the terminals on the remote for the batteries. Mine was doing the same as yours, I wiped them off all the connections in the remote, and it works like new.
