I'm currently reading this book and I am not usually a reader, I haven't picked up a book since high school, but I have not been able to put this down. Jay teaches you a completely different perspective of life, and he really explains how to understand the route of all your issues and struggles, whether thats with self-confidence, discipline or just general negative outlooks. I have a completely different view of life and other people, I have noticed I've been naturally pulling myself away from negative situations as simple as gossiping does not appeal to me anymore, but yet I'm not carrying judgement over those individuals that project it. I am so thankful for Jay and his journey and most thankful he gave up the monk life to educate others.

If someone interested in reading on this very concept. I’d recommend reading ‘Atomic Habbits’ by James Clear. it talks about same methodology but with different maybe even better terminology. Its a fun and very practical book to read. Infact it seems Jay might jabe taken a fee things from there. Its delves into the science behind Habits and behaviours and gives you a step by step practical methods to effect change.

Love the Rs, especially Responsibility, not just in the context of making yourself responsible to others, but picking up and accepting the responsibilities you have in life, it gives it purpose and meaning

one most important thing is missing which "emracing the failure and mistakes" , while one starts improving he or she will do mistakes, will get fail but one has to know that these things are very common when you are trying... so just dont give up learn from ur mistakes and failure and try not to repeat the same mistakes again and again. there will be times too when you will giveup but suddenly you will realise i should not giveup !! so one has to rise from such situations too !!

I made a commitment to improve my health. I eliminated all "treats" from my pantry and over time have developed the self-discipline I needed to eat a healthy diet. I've found that I no longer crave the sweet and high carb snacks like I did in the past. It wasn't easy initially, but has become easier over time.

Jay Shetty, I like the clever analogy of Monk & Monkey. Your Indian parents/roots that have taught you to recognize discipline as VITAL to learning & achieving. Students in the east are taught to achieve THROUGH discipline, "You can't get to it if you're not disciplined", is the message they're given. That message, is considered "negative" & discouraging, in the west, where students are taught / encouraged to believe that they CAN achieve - The "Get to it, it's your right to have it, & You CAN" - (Think you can, fake it till you make it, be a winner!), is the attitude. UNfortunately that western attitude is soon starting to sweep the east, & has begun in the Expensive schools for Privileged (mollycoddled) kids. These schools are aping the west, to compete & keep up with progress - NOT realizing that Master-minds came from the east, migrate to the west where competition is a synch & making more money is a given. Master Minds will continue to develop only through the "Discipline" attitude - East or West, Discipline is Best!?

One side of mind absorbs negativity, tensions, stress other side of mind tell to get relaxed, have faith, positivity. This lead to contradictory paradoxical activities of a person. So how to balance both side of mind is really really very tough like a war.
