I was so close to lucidity 2 nights ago. I had 3 dreams the first one I had these go carts and was driving around then I had another where I was with some friends and I said, “hey do you guys wanna go ride on my go carts” and i realized in my dream that the go carts I thought I had was just a dream. sadly I didn’t realize I was still in a dream.

"Your responsibility is to be present, logically present" - Daniel Love when interviewed by Rusty - I wrote it down, its the book mark in my dream journal and I say it out loud whenever I catch myself in a distraction etc (followed by an RC of course) I know I have said this before somewhere but living a lucid life in order to have a lucid dream changes life for the better - it's the MOST worthwhile practise that exists. Oh and I'm so proud of myself, at the glitch my hand went straight to a nose pinch

  • @StumpedSlicken
    @StumpedSlicken Жыл бұрын

So you employed Digitron for help in the production of this video! When I saw the glitch, my thoughts were "this is a test, I know he does this occasionally" before going into a reality check/test. Even though I still tested, my thoughts before that weren't probably the best due to how there was no doubt in my mind that it was on purpose. I had already (without knowing) concluded that it was a test, but I went through anyway. A blatant error in my process. Another error is how I am largely reactive in waking life (which translates to dreams). I usually procrastinate to the last possible second, I often don't take initiative due to fear of failure, and I'm still not fully in a position where I can take failures. Being reactive is a state I've been in for a majority of my life that not being in it is a bit scary. With being reactive, I could always put the blame on someone else, fence-sit, and can change quickly if things don't go right. Those types of behaviors aren't particularly good for lucid dreaming (or a ton of other things which can be great benefits in waking life) because you aren't fully there - you aren't fully in charge of what you could be. I could go on about it but I would be a hypocrite. It's something I'm slowly working on and I have noticed a positive change in waking and in dreams. This is a very important video to watch, no matter what stage in lucid dreaming you're in. Sometimes repetition of values and knowledge is good when practices are slipping (which mine were due to a very tough week). I hope everyone can take away some piece of knowledge from this video and improve on their lucid dreaming journey!

this is the best month of the year so far in terms of Lucid Dreaming. i had three Lucid Dreams already this year and i'm getting proud of it. there are however days after lucid dreaming that my dreams are unclear and vague. other times i still have vivid dreams but like real nightmares and not getting lucid. but coming a long way to my Lucid Adventures right now. now i only need a way to have controll in the dream and not break my lucidity and wake up too early because of excitement. its a bit sad that i lose my lucidity after getting too excited over having full controll, like i know its a dream but then i want to do too much at the same time and then i wake up or the dream gets hazey. once i rubbed my hands and the dream came back clear again. so that technique (i forgot who first thought of that technique, one of the first Lucid Dream maters, Laberge?) helped me those times. its time to try that one out if i dont forget it, whenever my dreams become too hazey.

This was a perfect example, the error. It we can use it to reflect on our dreams and where there were moments where we could have thought and “woken up”. My example, in my dream two days ago I opened the swimming pool but there was a vegetable garden planted on top of it and the vegetables broke because the cover of the pool moved. And also, the cover moves too far into both directions and broke the stone plates around the pool. In my dream I started crying and worrying about the reaction of my parents and mentally cursing myself. But awake, I now see multiple ways to see that I am dreaming. For example, the cover couldn’t have moved too far to the right. It’s not long enough. And also, whenever I cry in a dream, I don’t feel tears, I feel the heavy feeling in my chest but not the tears which makes the crying feel so… wrong? And also, you got me laughing with Muggle 😂👍🏻

If I was in a wrampage (stupid, I know) I would deffinetly not ask myself: "Am I dreaming?". And everyone screams when a hot cup of tea is dumped all over themself. No matter if it is a dream or not, it is not possible to think in every situation clearly. BTW I don't know how to reality check at work so nobody notices. It seems super weird to pinch your nose like 6 times a day. This is my main reality check and it works 98% of the time. Second one is to look if something has changed.

Hello Daniel! I want to suggest you a video idea. That being: A beginner's guide to meditation. As you are aware, meditation helps make your dream more clear thus increasing your chances of becoming lucid. I think it's a fundamental thing every lucid dreamer should know and it will be much appreciated if you do a tutorial on it.

Yeah, no, not exactly. If you do the right kind of meditation, it can be beneficial for lucid dreaming but it`s most definite not fundamental. A dreamjournal is fundamental, critical, logical thinking is fundamental. Meditation is not. It can help with keeping your lucid dreams stable, to not get overwhelmed with emotions, staying calm, that kind of thing, yeah. But you can do that without meditation too. Meditation just can be one of many effective tools to train the parts of your brain that keep yourself focused and calm during lucid dreams, and it can help with maintained awareness techniques, as meditation can be away to get a understanding of how your mind works, how to keep balance between focus and distraction. The right way of meditation of course. The "full awareness" meditations out there, that are aiming for fully focusing on, let`s say your breath while trying not to get distracted by thoughts or stuff will most likely lead to insomnia, not to more lucid dreams. You have to be very high alert when performing meditation, pay attention on what it does, why you do it, and what the beneficial outcome could be. Let`s say you do guided meditation. What would you expect from it, why would it be beneficial to lucid dreaming, having someone telling you what to think. So my tip would be, as a absolutely non expert, keep that in mind, just a regular person speaking here, sit down, focus on something, music, your breathing, the wind, rain, what ever. A little bit. It helps to have something to hold on to, and then, just pay attention to what your brain is doing automatically, don`t focus on it too much, just notice it passively. If you get too distracted you might fall asleep, so, bring your focus back to what ever you chose to focus on, like your breathing. Just slightly, and let your brain take over again. Here you go, you`re meditating. :) I learned this in therapy sessions when I had to do stuff like meditation and calm down practices. They were so boring, like sitting in a room with 10 other snoring human beings with a therapist telling me what to think and which muscle to tense up. The only help I got was the distractions in my brain. And most of the time I was the only one who benefited from the whole thing and came out really relaxed and with a good mood, and therapists asked me why and I was like, "My brain got my back". Daniel is talking about this in a lot of videos about maintained awareness techniques and stuff. Basically you have your answer right there. What you have to do for maintained awareness is pretty much the same you do when meditating in a for lucid dreaming beneficial way.

I woke up at 8AM and I was kind of sure that this time I would get a lucid dream so I fell asleep again, pretty quickly and then around 3 minutes into my dream I realised how weird it was and did my reality check twice to make sure I was dreaming. I became lucid. Thank you so much for the videos you put out! Good luck everyone! I have a question, what is an easy way to maintain lucidity without having to constantly scream or run around? Yesterday, I tried wake-induced lucid dreaming... whilst dreaming, I genuinely thought I was awake but didn't question the fact that I woke up in a different place (my nan's house probably seemed familiar and comfortable enough). It was almost as hard to WILD as whilst being awake, and I remember entering a dream (within a dream) however, I still didn't acknowledge that I did that. So I ended up with some Inception kind of wormhole attempting to become lucid a step further without even thinking of becoming lucid where I was. My head hurts writing this, but hope it makes sense. It was definitely a fun experience, ain't gonna lie, that's my longest lucid dreaming journal entry I ever did at 4 am as soon as I woke up from both dreams at once!

Then i began to have an....experience It wasnt a lucid dream or a dream in general. What I had experienced was, or what i think it was, was a DMT worm hole. What i saw, was a fractal wall consisting mainly of a vibrant orange-ish red-ish color and in the center it looked like a 3/8 inch grid like tunnel, that I would be traversing through, as if I were on a roller coaster. It looked similar to an animation of going through a fictional wormhole like it took me through a spiraling tunnel. But I could only see this if I kept my eyes a tiny bit open, just a crack. I enjoy this way of presenting the issue. Of how we develop the trait to be able to respond to dream appropriately to its nature as dream. What is our default frame when we encounter something novel, disorienting, unusual? Is it a stance of “look away, it’s nothing” or “that’s weird, but never mind, nothing to see here” or is it “that’s weird, what if there’s something here, something I’m not seeing. How can I inquire into that or check it or look closer?” The disposition is the crux.

I did a reality test at the beginning of the video, so when the glitch happened I knew you put it there. I still performed another reality check because I knew this is what you probably want me to do. So technically I both considered it could be a dream and drew correct conclusion (that you made the glitch), so it's fine, right? Also last night I tried SSILD and I had a false awakening and I realised it's a dream immediately. The thing is that I had closed eyes while staying in bed in the dream and I started to be afraid that when I open them I will wake up. If this happens to me should I open my eyes and hope that it won't wake me up, or is there something else I could do?

I dont know how to begin this comment but as of now im basically trying to brute force myself into having a lucid dream, which involves randomly shouting "i am dreaming" and hoping itll do something, and most of the times it didnt do anything. Sometimes i thought i was lucid dreaming, but when i wake up i realized that i still wasnt in full control, i was tricked into thinking i was lucid dreaming. I heard that having a dream journal is important? But its literally a chore for me, not only do i dislike writing on paper, but also theres no better way to represent/describe my dreams without making an animation with sound for every single one of them, and this is still far from being true to my dreams, because a lot of the times theyre literally unexplainable. Ive also heard some techniques involve setting your alarm to go off during the night, which i cant do because i live wih my parents and dont want to wake them up. Also i dont understand what this video is saying, too many words i dont know, what im getting is that i need to think and not do anything? I dont think i can do that even when im awake lol

Sleep paralysis can't really be induced unless you're willing to do things that are very damaging to your health. It's absolutely not required for lucid y and is a parasomnia. The false connection between sleep paralysis and lucid dreaming is misinformation stemming from people misunderstanding that one route out of sleep paralysis is to lucid dream.

Hey Daniel, I stumbled across your channel recently after having a wild lucid dream. I realized I was dreaming when I broke my cellphone, but in the dream it was a product of a company I would not support ;) Anyways, I appreciate your format and not promising lucidity TONIGHT like others. In the multiple videos Ive watched what you say makes logical sense and clicks, even if it isnt what most people would like to hear. Quick question and a suggestion: Q: What would be your suggestion on finding lucidity during dreams where you are not the 'main character' with influence on whats going on, but more a bystander watching a movie play out? Other than the traditional reality checks etc. I think I have quite many of these, but as Im 'watching a movie' I dont doubt the reality because its like Im watching something on tv, therefore it doesnt need to make sense. S: For your 8hr overnight guide - amazing concept, will give it a try. But might I suggest making just a sound only version for spotify or to download? Even with darkened screen you kind still need youtube running in the background and using up battery more than normal. Keep it up!

Definitely add some more logic into the mix, you'll likely double your number of lucid dreams. Obviously with maintained awareness (WILD) dreams that logical prefrontal cortex is already online, so not so necessary.

I have a question , im 14 and i play videogames a lot. When i play i dont think about doing reality checks. How can i change that? And do videogames affect lucid dreaming?

the thing i struggle with about this is HOW exactly do I be logical about a certain situation. For example in your coffee spilling on shirt example, how exactly would you step back and be logical about it?

Impulse control. It's difficult, but it starts small. Practice with small things, like when you get the urge to check your phone, notice the urge, don't just blindly react - and ask yourself "Do I really need to do this?". Then slowly build up to more complex and intensive urges. It's about being in control of your actions, not letting your emotions and instincts be in control of you.

Any recommendations for preparation for dreams where it's less one big reaction to something that's happened but rather a constant stream of distractions? It can be difficult to step back and think calmly when something else is right up in your face demanding attention a split second later, and a split second after that.

This is really where meditation and mindfulness practice come into force - not necessarily the "hippy" versions but the rational ability to maintain a stoic mindset in the face of chaos. The first step is to start to notice "gear shifts" in your inner state, those moments where you transition from a centred mind to a distracted one.

Watching your videos i have lucid dreamed 60% of the time but the most techniques require you to wake up which i don't most of the time naturally or even with the alarm clock and the reality test lucid dreams are not vivid and I can't remember it for some reason

7:03 I Think I get what’s he saying about the hot coffee moment don’t shout and scream think about why it happened and what you can do to fix it. Same as lucid Dreaming. Think about why it happening and what your doing and thinking about it think about what is happening in your subconscious mind am I correct about this? 7:03

5 GBP donate on your paypal. Thank you. I was "lucid" by my previous reality check. hand reality check that I looked at my fingers and hands. I haven't done it in a long time. it always worked well. could I combine it with nose reality check?

Amazing, thank you Jim!! Yes, I'd recommend the nose pinch over the hand test, as it's somewhat more reliable in the long run. But you should definitely combine multiple tests as part of your overall reality testing process. Obviously remembering to focus on mindset and logical assessment as the primary thing.

Thank you so much Lucid Dream Portal. I'm so grateful that you teach everyone about "lucid" in lucid dreaming and not toaddle. I feel like there is always new to learn about this subject and that I'm missing it in my practice. Anyways hope you have a good one.

What is the appeal of lucid dreaming though? I can see how having this attitude would nonetheless be a tremendous skill to have while awake, aka mindfulness. But is there an appeal which goes beyond this?

Oh you know... Access to the full capabilities of the most complex biological computer in the know universe, facing the mysteries of consciousness and self head-on, experiencing a vast inner universe where anything is possible unrestrained by the laws of physics - able to navigate the unmapped wilderness of the subconscious, a hyper-realistic virtual reality that is capable of reading your mind and revealing the subtle coding of who you are, or on a simple level, experiencing the impossible with a magic-lamp capable of granting any wish. I could go on, the well is as deep as the nature of mind itself. Mindfulness, while useful, pales into comparison compared to exploring the uncharted nature of the innerverse. I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to experience this - it's utterly baffling. After all religions are founded on the idea of a possible "heaven", when the reality is you could experience an identical state on any given night.
