She's spot on. Everything is about attaching the word to thoughts so it goes from thoughts to your target language and out, and not from thoughts to your native language, then match the word to other word in your target language, and out. The difference in processing power you need is staggering.
I remember when I started to watch your videos, I didn't understand anything, and now I can understand you clearly, I'm so proud of myself. Thanks for your videos. God bless you.
Everything is going well It's simple More listening More understanding Immersion yourself in inveromint And believe in yourself For sure you will succeed and achieve that. Finally no translation in your mind 😀

Helpful tips. I haven’t seen anyone else talking about these tips. A unique and effective approach to learning a language
I really appreciate your videos, dearest Verinika❤
Great video!! I'm definitely gonna use these helpful tips 😅
I learn whole sentences saying them aloud. 5 days - 300 repetitions per day at least. Later I don't need to translate. I know the meaning of words straight away like in my native language. And also I remember the meaning longer than by learning separate words. This method is called: chunking. It was a real game changer in my learning process and communication skills in English and other languages.😊

Hi Veronika, I love the way you say, "Comfortable." While you were speaking one interesting tip came to mind: When pronouncing new words or phrases, focus on the "Syllabic Voice," a term I coined. It teaches the value of looking for the syllable that is stressed in the word. Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you for your efforts ..you are the best adviser of the language ...I dont use translation dictionaries at all because as you said this tecnique will hurt fluency of the language I just use explanation dictionaries in english to describe the meaning of target word..

This is the second video I've found about setting up a "second brain", but apparently my definition is different. To me, as second brain is a repository for the information set up in Notion, Obsidian, etc. Great info, just not what I was expecting since everything I've every seen (until today) about second brains was setting it up with software or a notebook to download information out of one's "first brain" (the one in one's skull) to another repository. Thanks for the great video, though! 🙂
1:53 I, Dutch, am fluent at Dutch, Esperanto, English and German (in order in fluency, but still fluent at German). This thing: - in Dutch is a föhn (as in German, but we don't capitalize nouns, unlike German); - in Esperanto is a harsekigilo; - in English is a hair dryer; - in German is a Föhn.
Your videos are professionally done and edited well. Thanks for the language tips. Я изучаю русский язык почти два года. Привет из США.

Why are you learning this language. If this language is never useful to you
Hi veronika u r so adorable and like your teaching method
The best part of the video was you saying "hueva" 😂😂❤
thanks for the video. i already use Anki and i like its simplicity. you said there are days you still feel uncomfortable to speak english and it's the same for me (but i'm not fluent). I just feel some days my accent is better than other days, even my thoughts in english flows ok sometimes and other times i struggle with. good to know i'm not the only one 😂 ps: i'm typing without any translater, so you'll find some errors in my text!
One of my immense mistake when learning english is that I used to translate the sentences I wanted to say‚ just like before I encode the ideas. I used to construct sentences in my native language first prior to translate it in english so basically it takes a long time before I express my ideas lol. However not until I have found that this kinda method would kill me.
That's the one more way for larning engilsh i am writing English now so what's it benefit for this app i think that's right for corrections i am so thankful for this video
How (silent) translation in your head can be eliminated? It is to simple for understanding (but not very simple for achiving): You MUST speak in English whole lesson, no any words in your native English aaceptable. It will be hard, first lessons you will have a pain, your conversation will be very simple and very short. It will be question-answer way. Some questions you will need translate by google. If you have preintermediate or intermediate English level. You have to improve Substitute skills (how to change unknown words to well known-it is very important skill!). Write down some useful phrases like (for native teacher): -Can you repeat by different words please? -Can you repeat again please? -Can you write(text) it in chat please? -Sorry I don't understand this idea? -Sorry I need a little break/pause It works like this: Your native language word->translating silently in your head to English... Listening English->translating into your native language. Than, after some time your BRAIN eliminate "silent translating step in your head" and you will start speaking and understanding withOut translating! You will feel relaxation, more time to thinking (because you free translating time). It works simle, just start speaking with somebody (better-Teacher, the best-native teacher) and after some lessons...I don't remember how many ...maybe after 20 60mins lesssons you will stop translate in you head. At first it will be simple tenses and words and phrases. More complex tenses, difficult grammar constraction will still need more more time (like automatically fluently use of conditional sentenses or future perfect progressive tense), You will be free in conversation more and more .. Finally you can have a conversation witOut translating include difficult construction. Please pay attention: very important to speak with native people for hearing Proper sounds! If you can speak Proper (pronunciation) you can Recognize this word in a foreign speach! Even in connected speach! Good luck guys! If you wish,-write me, I can share some tips trixs and some experiance!

I think the biggest problem When I have been learning a language is word/vocabulary,like I was having fun watching a vidio in English and then there's a word that I don't know what it means, and I have to translating that word that's so annoying😥 I hope that from your videos I rarely translate sentences, thanks Ms Veronica
Hello, mam Can you please explain how to develop my listening level?
I undertood that with a Oxford dictionary, I work inmedatly, because is the way you learned your native lenguage... Un saludito.

I'm enjoying so much your videos. It's so helpful! 😊
Hola Verónica! How would you approach learning vocabulary and verbs in languages with aspects of verbs and grammar cases? I'm learning Russian but i'm still struggling with that. There are Moments in which I need to translate anyways. Saludos desde Chile 🇨🇱
@dr_languages
11 ай бұрын
Translation is one of the most powerful language learning tools we have as adult learners. Please do not stop using it while it's helpful! Actually, the retrieval of words will become easier with time, but building the bridges between the different languages in your brain from the beginning will be extremely helpful in the future to switch between languages (and I've been a professional translator + language teachers for 10+yrs + PhD in Language Education, so I do know the science behind what I'm saying!). For verbs with cases, what I found most useful is to always that you find a new verb or word, don't just write it down in a list but rather include the entire "word ecosystem": how it's conjugated (infinitive, gerund, past), what cases it requires, different meanings depending on the context, etc. This is more time consuming but much more helpful, you will see! Also, if your level is good enough, read a lot and try to identify new words from these texts. New words learnt in context are much easier to remember, I speak fluently several languages that I learn 20yrs ago, and still to this date I remember distinctly the text/story where I first heard certain words that I use now everyday!!
Looking so smart you
Thank you..i like your video and i subscribe your Chanel
What happen if you want to memorize a word and english and you can't use a image to describe it? I think this method is only useful if you want to learn or memorize certain objects in english you know, I won't find an image relate to idioms or phrasal verbs for example
So here’s a technique that works. My teacher before class number 1 starts asks us to only write down in English what our inner monologue thoughts are as we go through her lesson, so we do. These are things like “This makes absolutely no sense” “Why is it doesn’t like this” “How long do we have left?” “I know that one!” “I should put my hand up” Etc etc. After the lesson she collects the paper and translates all of these into the target language. She wants us to stop our brain computing in English so we have to think in the target language. So next lesson you’re learning new words and your brain uses filler thoughts in the target language. If you end up thinking something in English, you have to write it down and replace it with the phrase in the target language. This change results in you immediately immersing in the language. It only takes one lesson or practice of doing it and it will fast track language learning by about 2 years
